I feel good in the clothes I wear and I think they're cute and pretty fashionable, but I just realized that one of the artists I listen to, and also like the fashion of, is 26 :)

It doesn't bother me but I can see how it can come in the wrong way to some people I guess.

Do people actually think like this!?
I'm over 50 and it doesn't really occur to me to worry about my age. If I think something will suit me i'll wear it.
I dont care if it comes from Bon Marche or the kids section of Primark!😂

Richardscaryisscary · 29/10/2025 04:04

Wear what makes you feel good.

I'm mid fifties and wear whatever the hell I want. Often similar to my student daughters, flares, Converse, Docs, utility pants, lots of piercings.

Life is short, people who would judge you by your age and clothing are a waste of space.

spoonbillstretford · 29/10/2025 04:05

I'm 50 and don't particularly dress that differently from 25 years ago. 1990s/2000s style I can do.

Monty27 · 29/10/2025 04:07

Wear what makes you feel good. Doesn't everyone no matter what judgement?

Lionfisher · 29/10/2025 04:42

No one you should care about cares what you’re wearing.

At all.

BastardtheCat · 29/10/2025 05:06

I’m 53 and wear what I want. I’ve recently been told by a group of my Year 11 students that they love my style. I was flattered and chuffed but told them that I wear clothes that make me feel good.

Wear what you want OP!

springintoaction2 · 29/10/2025 05:09

You're 7 or 8 years older - so what|?|

No one cares - absolutely no one Grin

Lobsterteapot · 29/10/2025 05:12

I should phrase this more sympathetically as this is style and beauty but op no one cares.

Live your life and wear what you want.

NormasArse · 29/10/2025 05:21

At 33 you should be wearing twin sets, tweed skirts and sensible shoes. Pull yourself together woman!

Rafting2022 · 29/10/2025 05:25

I had to get the smelling salts to revive myself after reading you’re dressing like this at 33. I’m only glad the queen is no longer here to witness it.

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 29/10/2025 05:28

Wear it! When you hit peri menopause you will remember how nice it was to express yourself by wearing what you chose rather than what you can comfortably fit in. You’re still a baby! Enjoy it while you can.

PrescriptionOnlyMedicine · 29/10/2025 05:31

I’m mid fifties and wear what I like. This is mostly jeans and tee shirts (not a lot of style going on here) and trainers. I do sometimes wonder if I’m clinging onto to youth (I still shop in places like Hollister) for about two minutes and then realise I don’t care.

I’m not a fan of “dressing for your age” as it’s meaningless. I would draw the line at dressing like Sabrina Carpenter on stage for a trip to Asda.

What do 33 year olds wear? What do 25 year olds wear?

I’m older than you but my daughter is 25. I can’t think of anything that she wears that screams ‘I’m 25!’.

That's thing though isn't it. I've got older and I look back at photos of my young self and think damn, I didn't look half bad, yet I was plagued with insecurities. Wish I could go back and make my younger self realise this.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 29/10/2025 05:58

I'm 61 and wear what I like. Life is too bloody short to be thinking you 'can't' wear something because 'it's too young for you'.

Meadowfinch · 29/10/2025 06:01

Just wear what suits you and makes you comfortable. You don't have a label on your head saying 33.

kistanbul · 29/10/2025 06:02

I remember being 16 and thinking it was really sad and embarrassing that 26 year olds were wearing fashionable clothes because they were soooo old.

No one other than the very young will think that you should dress differently in your 30s than you do in your 20s. Some people think you should differently in your 40s than you do in your 20s but you’ll care less then.

MrsPrendergast · 29/10/2025 06:02

Oh come ON! Get some perspective 🤣

No one cares ....Wear what you like

NotForTheMoneyandNotForTheApplause · 29/10/2025 06:39

I'm not a particular follower of fashion and has no idea that clothes were age specific, do people really base what they wear on how old they are?

I have no idea what a 25 year olds wardrobe is like

NoodleHorses · 29/10/2025 06:44

I live in dungarees, jeans, shirts and tee shirts. I occasionally wear a pinafore style dress thing with leggings. I have way too many pairs of boots. I am 61 and been wearing similar things as long as I can remember.
The only thing I don’t wear is the weight of other people’s opinions.
Wear what you like and feel happy in. Life is too short for anything else and, heaven knows, we should take joy where we can.

DappledThings · 29/10/2025 06:45

Don't be ridiculous

Gettingbysomehow · 29/10/2025 06:50

Im 63 and I wear it. I don't do sleeveless though because my arms are a bit wrinkly. If it suits you why not. I recently bought some very tight leopard flares. They look great 😁
