Converse~ they have become a staple for me and can be picked up cheaper in the sales.

Clinique~ specifically their cleansing balm and DDML

Ultraviolet -specifically their tinted SPF 50
which I wear with bronzer on the top.

Aussie leave in conditioning spray-
perfect for taming my hair on a morning

Longchamp le Pliage bags-I have been buying these for 15 plus years and they are perfect for shopping trips, trips to the gym
and small and short breaks away.

Mulberry bags of old, my Bayswater
from the days when they were at the height of their popularity were fantastic quality.

wolford tights? I have always looked at the ridiculous price of them and would never buy in a million years! I think the last time I looked they were about £100?!

They're priced between £30 - £60ish? I have several opaque pairs that are nearly 4 years old and still immaculate. Price per wear they are actually cheaper than Marks & Spencer whose opaques rarely last even one full Winter.

imakomododragon · 17/02/2026 19:31

Estee Lauder Re nutriv foundation: it’s around £100 but lasts for months and I’m regularly complimented on my 62 year old skin.

I bought a pair of grey ribbed ones 9 years ago and they were about €40. I knew they were expensive but I thought id give them ago. I have worn them over and over every winter since and they are beginning to give up. ( I'll wear them as a sort of base layer when they are not fit to been seen with a dress) i am about to order another pair. Fantastic quality.
It's prove of the old adage of ' buy once, cry once'

You don't know what you're missing. Not sure where you're getting those prices from - I pay about £30 but have only bought 2 pairs because they last and last

Estee Lauder ANR
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide capsules
Aromatherapy Associates -bath oil and shower gel
Tree Hut body scrubs
Murad overnight sculpting retinal serum

I’m not big on brand loyalty, I like trying new things but my always go tos are:

kerestase Bain divalent shampoo
Sophia Webster flats - they have the best customer service of anywhere. Absolutely brilliant
Marks and Spencer’s trousers - I’m short and taking trousers up is annoying . I love that i ca but great wool mix trousers off the rack.
Dior foundation - just really good

DaphneduM · 22/02/2026 10:22

Dr Hauschka tinted day cream - very subtle and brightening, although it looks very dark in the tube it actually isn't when on your skin
UpCircle creams - recommended by a friend. Fantastic - particularly their eye cream, serum, day and night cream and facial oil - game-changer for me
Champo Pitta shampoo, conditioner and hair growth serum - if I run out and use something else, I soon notice the difference
Victoria Beckham kohl eyeliner - fantastic
Darphin Intral facial lotion - lovely and soothing when your skin just needs a break - seems expensive but it lasts for ages

Russell and Bromley - shoes and handbags - used to have an account with them back in the day when I was working - such a shame about their demise - at the moment I'm getting a lot of wear out of a pair of their snakeskin effect leather trainers.
MaxMara - enough said, superb quality with Italian style - can't beat Italian manufacturing and fashion - only buy on Vinted these days - best buy new with tags cardigan and also 100% wool blazer
Etro - again superb Italian designer - likewise Vinted - best buy large canvas and leather trim bag
Furla - leather bags - beautiful Italian quality - so much better than Mulberry - I bought my daughter a Mulberry bag a few years ago and it was disappointing - I felt an absolute waste of what was about £1k
Remonte - brogues and boots - not expensive but such good quality, comfortable and practical - they last years
Mantero 1902 - scarves in both wool and silk - absolutely beautiful quality - Chanel bought a stake in them recently to preserve their source - Mantero make all their silk scarves - they can be sourced via E-bay and Vestiaire or new on their website - again beautiful Italian quality and style, and much less expensive, obviously that their Chanel counterparts
D'Exterior - not sure if they're still going - but again beautiful Italian clothes - my mother of the bride outfit was D'Exterior - their knitwear is very good too
Braccialini - lovely leather handbags - again from Italy
I buy most of my jeans and cords from Marks and Spencer - find them good value and their sizing and length suits me perfectly - such good basics to go with my other, more unusual or flamboyant clothes!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 22/02/2026 16:28

Chanel solid bronzer.
Armani Luminous silk foundation.

MayaPinion · 22/02/2026 16:34

Dr Marten’s Adrian loafers - they go with everything and always look smart.
Nivea in the dark blue tin - the really thick stuff. Often put it on after an evening shower and my skin is like a baby’s in the morning.
Atrixo - I’ve used many other hand creams including expensive ones, but I keep coming back to Atrixo.
