Title says it all! I thought this might be okay, but now I'm not sure.

Is this suitable funeral attire?

Yes.

Mollydoggerson · 10/10/2025 13:09

Yes

ZenNudist · 10/10/2025 13:10

Its fine

Mulledjuice · 10/10/2025 13:10

I'd wear dark tights and shoes (and assume you might need a dark jacket or cardigan).

Fine for al the funerals I've attended.

Sagaciously · 10/10/2025 13:11

What are you not sure about? It’s fine.

Cyclistmumgrandma · 10/10/2025 13:12

Last funeral I attended most of us were in Hawaiian shirts......

LadyHexham · 10/10/2025 13:12

Yes, it's respectful and smart.

Ddakji · 10/10/2025 13:15

Yes.

OhDear111 · 10/10/2025 13:20

Yes. You don’t need dark tights but black shoes would be great. A coat or jacket in a dark colour if it’s a cold day. These days few wear black head to toe.

WearyAuldWumman · 10/10/2025 13:20

Yes, it's fine.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 10/10/2025 14:08

Yes, but I would wear with thick dark tights and shoes/boots and a dark coloured cardi or jacket.

I guess flesh colour tights would be OK, but not bare legs. I think dark tights would look better generally.

Epidote · 10/10/2025 14:18

Yes,

SisSuffragette · 10/10/2025 14:19

Yes, perfect

Shutuptrevor · 10/10/2025 14:20

I’d put dark tights and cardi/jacket with it, then yes.

FcukBreastCancer · 10/10/2025 14:21

I'd agree on dark tights

Teado · 10/10/2025 15:44

Yes, it’s respectful and smart and it doesn't draw attention to you. I assume you’re wearing tights.

Friendlygingercat · 10/10/2025 16:53

Dark shoes and jacket will be fine with that dress. Its probably too cold now for just a dress.

No one wears head to foot black nowadays unless its a pope or head of state. It also depends on the degree of kinship. Close family will probably wear darker clothes but any neutral colour is considered suitable for most funerals. I wore purple for my fathers funeral. If you were less close to the deceased than an ordinary daytime outfit (not sports clothes) would be acceptable. All this assumes that attendees are not asked to wear some particular bright colour or conform to a dress dress code.

Indianajet · 10/10/2025 17:06

That's fine .

Homegrownberries · 10/10/2025 17:11

Yes. Perfect.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 10/10/2025 17:13

Yes

NoSoapJustUseShowerGel · 10/10/2025 17:15

Yes it’s fine. I would also put black tights and a smart/casual black blazer with it.

OhDear111 · 10/10/2025 17:17

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea Well bare legs for a funeral with the dress would be a bit odd but dark or black tights are not necessary. Just something over the dress if it’s autumnal.

DelphiniumBlue · 10/10/2025 17:20

You'll want another layer, especially if it's in a church - they don't seem to be heated much. A black or dark jacket or coat, black shoes or boots, and tights would all work. Maybe a dark scarf if it's likely to be colder than today. I'm not kidding - the church I sing in is freezing, we're all in scarves and woolly jumpers.

HappyHoppyHeather · 10/10/2025 17:22

Black jacket or coat, then sorted
