They did the precious potions kit around this time last year - I remember as it was 'halloweeny' with the potions theme and witchy woo perfume.

I'm not sure the kits are quite the standard of last year now - as in all of life, once they have got a good following they don't need to try as hard.

I live in hope though.

Liberty has arrived and it is beautiful. I just love the little drawers and it’s so solid and well-made. I will definitely be keeping the box and refilling it next year, as I can’t see me being able to splash out again.

Only three definite DODs for me and I have taken those items out and will replace them with other things - maybe from the October Beauty Box if they fit.

On a related note:

I am going to cancel the Beauty Drop, as I object to paying a £5 a month ‘admin’ charge, (which works out at paying £60 a year for the four beauty boxes @£15 each). I also don’t want to commit myself to buying next year’s calendar in case it’s full of things I don’t like. I am also not in the market for spending money at Liberty on other things instead.

However, I want to wait until they send out the October gift before cancelling. Does anyone know how much notice you have to give to avoid being charged an extra month? (My payments are being taken during the first week of every month.)

I purchased a Liberty perfume kit on 14th November last year (I do think it had been out for a few weeks though).

I feel very late to the party this year even though it’s still only October!

After buying a few BACs in previous years I now have more staple items that I’d like to repeat, and I’m low on those staples so that is dissuading me from most of the offerings this year.

I’m hoping some CB or Liberty edits will come along and quench my buying appetite.

The HN frag cal finally arrived. I'm quite happy with small sizes as I get bored of full bottles unless i absolutely know I will love them. There's quite a decent amout here . Some I know I will like and some I know I will sell, some undiscovered ones which I usually go on fragrantica to get the scent profile and reviews before deciding if they are worth a sniff.

the Fenwick one is still 'lost in transit' - actually it seems to be stuck in hinkley - hoping it can make its way to my house tomorrow.

I've been buying fragrances from advent calendars assuming the Vinted sellers have had a couple of sprays. It's perfectly acceptable to me as nothing like sticking fingers in a cream for example.

I should probably read the descriptions more to be honest! But I'm sure you would find a buyer for any that you did spray to test.

I bought ASOS with the discount code but you had to buy it on the app, not the main website.

I think we're all different. I always check if fragrance was tried and wouldn't ever buy if it was.

My HN fragrance calendar arrived too 🥰 I had a smell of the ones I didn't know if I liked or not and I'm happy to say that I like them 😁 I've uploaded 5 onto vinted, 1 has sold already, but 2 are showing as pending check and have been for a few hours now 😕

What's the Kilian like? I was toying with buying one on Vinted but I'm put off by the cucumber note. Not keen on anything that's a 'green' scent.

HN is tempting but I’m holding off as really don’t need it. Missed the ASOS code but don’t think I wanted it anyway. Impatiently waiting for SNK fragrance to launch as my DD would like it. I really hope I don’t miss it.

I smelt that one the other day in town and was on the fence about it. It is quite fresh and I don't think I'll ever reach for it so that's one of the ones I've listed. I smelt the kilian good girl gone bad too and really liked that one so I purchased that on vinted and will switch it 😁

My mum bought me Liberty as a joint birthday / Christmas (birthday very handily at the start of December) and it arrived this week and looks JOYOUS!! The box, fabric bag, gold print, literally everything is just so luxe. I was dithering between space nk and lib but got space Nk last year and haven’t had Liberty for around five so it felt like the right time!

Just a note on BAC overall - due to the aforementioned early December birthday I’ve been getting a BAC for years now (on request). The one year I skipped I REALLY missed it. So diss them all you like but they are GREAT value and if you choose well - and appropriate to your product use - they can really reduce the yearly spend. I adore them and will keep going with one each year so long as I have willing gifters !

I wasnt interested in HN fragrance, but it i prefer it to the SNK. I think i might look on Vinted for the ones i fancy trying.

As a vinted seller the minute you say tested once or anything like that it falls foul of the bot and your listing gets pulled. So if sellers on vinted aren't honest about this its not their fault. Vinted is funny about anything used in the beauty category, as is ebay but it's easier to get round the algorithm and list as 'new other'

I don't like the idea of a freshie rose either. Im not usually rose fan, although the oudy ones like Scherzo, are okay.

Ah OK, I think that's fair enough for Vinted to have a blanket rule for all beauty products. Keeps it simple.

I am so glad you asked I am thinking the same , dithering between HN fragrance and SPK . Was so disappointed to miss the Harrods one but in principle I just can’t buy it on eBay as I just think it’s criminal to buy 17 to sell . But I’m thinking the same thing so as we have all the experts on here that I would follow 🤣 I was wondering should I wait for a great perfume edit ? Love love this thread I am so ready for next August !!!! Thanks to you guys !
