I haven't seen an advent calendar that I like this year. It doesnt help that I have lots of skincare a few perfumes to use through. I have bought the liberty mens one for my husband.

I had that last year and thought it was brilliant. The only reason I didn't get it this year was because of repeats. I mean, who needs 2 scalp scrubby brushes?

Really sorry to hear about your cousin. Must have been a terrible shock. 🙁
The exact same thing happened to my cousin 15 years ago. She had just turned 40 and they never found a cause of death which makes it even harder to get your head around.

My dad has just started chemotherapy. It has spread to his liver but as it is just a spot rather than a mass, they are hoping to zap it with the chemo. Just have to take one day at a time and keep everything crossed.
Thoughts of advent calendars, Vinted purchases and reading this thread each day has been a good distraction. I also love reading about all your purchases. 😊

Question for all you knowledgeable perfumistas.

I'm considering SNK fragrance when it finally lands. However, I am concerned about the 2x50ml perfumes as I don't know will I like them and all the rest are very small. I preferred the way HN did theirs last year - 2x30ml but there were also 2x15ml and several 10ml ones so the risk was more spread out iykwim.

Anyway on to my question - are there likely to be perfume edits coming out before christmas/in january that are a better punt? I'm not particularly bothered by not knowing the perfumes as I've really enjoyed trying out new ones from last year's HN, even though I don't really like one of the 30ml. I don't live near anywhere that has a good selection of non-mainstream perfumes to sample them so I do need to buy online. I'm just so indecisive about it all😀

Last year liberty did a curated collection - not cheap mut several full sizes and I loved it

hoping they do similar with different brands

they also did more of a sampler with several 10ml options

I have noticed that the Look Fantastic fragrance calendar says ‘stock coming soon’ so do we think they will be restocking maybe? 🤔

I should also have said they need to ship to Ireland without doing the total dog on the exchange rate. Once it goes over €250, there are large customs charges too.

Not really sure. Sometimes they just appear like the Selfridges edit a few weeks ago.

Anywhere that has done a fragrance AC is unlikely to do one until next year I would guess.

Liberty is a wild card. It's not that long since their summer scent edit. They did put a lot of scent in their BAC but haven't done a standalone AC. They did that big scent edit box that was £400+ very late on, just before Xmas last year but it's been on sale all through this year so didn't sell very well at the time. That makes me think they won't do another but maybe they'll do something more affordable.

You lot have been busy since I last posted - I think I posted on thread 1 saying I probably wasn’t going to get a BAC this year as I have too much stuff as it is. I can’t believe you are on thread 7!

Anyway. I decided I mainly go through cleansers and moisturisers and SPF and have enough serums and eye creams and exfoliating products but I spotted the Boots Skin Care calendar which seemed to have a lot of things I get through and as I had enough Boots Advantage points to get it without spending any actual money I ordered that and it arrived today. It’s not madly exciting but I will use most of it and I can use some bits to give to my niece.

And although I cancelled the Liberty Beauty Drop I have been saving £20 a month in a separate savings account so I have that to spend if I want anything. I do fancy trying the Bio Effect serum……

Checking in for the new thread. I have JL ready and waiting on top of my wardrobe, and I'm really want the Boots Skincare one too. I'm very close to justifying it to myself by saying I'll pretty much treat it like a beauty box and just dip into it before 1st Dec as and when I need things (I'll need eye cream and SPF before then). I so wish Boots would let you part pay with points as I've got £40 worth banked. If there's a good cashback offer or something I'll probably cave and get it.

I usually buy myself the M&S advent calendar but the contents this year looked really similar to last year and there were a number of things I knew I wouldn’t use.
Does anyone have any suggested alternatives around a similar price point?
I was considering the Anthropologie one but it just seems like so much to spend!

Is the HN fragrance normally all travel sizes?
I am pleased that I have Harrods as that feels like a treat to have full size alongside travel sizes.
