I wonder if they will end up discounting the HN advent. 🤔

HollyGolightly4 · 20/10/2025 20:05

I might be being dense and forgetful, but has anyone mentioned this one?

Think it's a lovely design, not sure about the price for the contents

Growlybear83 · 20/10/2025 20:08

@HollyGolightly4. Yes! My husband has hopefully bought the F&M calendar for my joint birthday and xmas presents. It had the highest number of items that I will use than any of the other calendars in that price range - it had a comparatively small amount of makeup and cleansers if I remember correctly.

Isittooearlyforchristmasmusic · 20/10/2025 20:24

I've just seen the sainsburys calendar, its £80 this year. Thats quite a rise compared to the £20 last year.
has anyone been to Bicester village recently and knows if the f&m calendar is there?

Thelifeofawife · 20/10/2025 20:36

@IDontHateRainbows I have the HN beauty AC and I really like it. I got it as a top up for the bits I’d sold from other ACs but once I properly went through it I liked most of the products, some things I will keep and others will be going in Xmas stockings

Growlybear83 · 20/10/2025 20:39

I saw yesterday that the L’artisan parfumeur calendar has finally been released but I haven’t been able to find the full list of contents anywhere. I can’t afford another one this year, but they tend to discount the calendar by 50% in the spring.

Addictedtobeauty · 20/10/2025 21:09

@Thelifeofawife i concur. Bought the HN when reduced with the discount code and am happier than anticipated. There’s a lot in there I will use. We’re all different - one persons holy grail is another persons DOD.

Evergreen21 · 20/10/2025 21:12

@HollyGolightly4 it's always mentioned in the earlier threads. It's always a beautiful design, one of the more expensive calendars but has a high worth. I discounted it as I preferred others but I'm sure some posters have gone for it. For me it's one I would love to receive as a gift but wouldn't necessarily buy for myself.

They are properly taking the pee with that price tag! I've just had a look and there's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. I see it already has some positive reviews, but I'm sceptical (I used to be an influencer / reviewer for Sainsbury's and got sent tons of products, but gave it up recently as you're basically expected to give glowing reviews within very short deadlines and it just got annoying)

IDontKnowWhatYouMean · 20/10/2025 21:21

The Sainsbury’s reviews I saw under the £80 calendar were from last year.
It’s so expensive for what it is, I did wonder if it was just an artificially high price just so that they could ‘Nectar Price’ it.

Keffert · 20/10/2025 21:23

Feeling very proud of myself because I have resisted the cult beauty edit, even though I reeeeally want more of the bioeffect serum. I’m surprised by how much I love it, usually I go for things that smell and feel more luxurious but it has just made my skin look so much better! I started using it thinking it was a budget serum that I needed to get through then only looked it up once I realised my skin was glowing!

However, I do have lots of other serums to use (or will once I have opened my calendars) so am going to work my way through them before buying anything else 😇. I’m probably set for cleanser, toner, serum AND moisturiser until next Christmas!

Yeah. They will definitely do that. I think this is indicative of some companies thinking they can pull the wool over our eyes and believe we will buy any old tripe.

When I worked for Sainsbury's back in 2019 they did a gin advent calendar. It started off at £60 and they eventually had to flog them off at £20 as they had hundreds left.

Addictedtobeauty · 20/10/2025 21:28

I think you’ve sussed Sainsbury’s out @IDontKnowWhatYouMean . It has to be a nectar price gimmick,

Gymbunny2025 · 20/10/2025 21:40

I’m looking at the selfridges one. Love that it has 25 days!

If you do decide to get it, the code BDAY15 makes it £76 🥳

I have just received a notification the John Lewis Heroes box is back in stock for those that were thinking about it

I’ve had the same email so have ordered it. Annoyingly approx 30 minutes ago I ordered their winter beauty box! There’s enough out of both that I’ll use, and I’ll sell off the rest to recoup some of my money

Anyone planning on buying an expensive advent calendar at Selfridges, it's worth considering they've got a 10% cashback deal if you use Paypal- details on their site. Am tempted by the Diptyque- someone please stop me!

Growlybear83 · 20/10/2025 22:02

@Seahorses12. Sorry, I think you should treat yourself! I don’t remember seeing a discount on the Diptique calendar before and it’s one of the loveliest this year.

MrsBnow12 · 20/10/2025 22:06

@Seahorses12 Also look at your offers if you have an Amex card, am sure I saw a £50 off a £400 spend.
I did save a £25 off a £150 from Fenwick in the hope the advent is either discounted or they launch a gwp.

Gorgeous I looked at that one too. I keep getting adverts for them all on instagram so annoying!

Isittooearlyforchristmasmusic · 20/10/2025 22:16

It most definitely will go to a lower nectar price, but I wonder how low. I did get it last year for £20, it was absolutely nothing special, but the price was good. I guess i may not be their target market. I would say it would have been good for a tween, or for replenishing the bathroom cabinet

It's a thing of beauty that's for sure. Seeing it in the flesh in Selfridges made me want it even more. 😍

This was the one that tempted me the most as I liked the bag, soaps and candles and the lack of makeup. I saw it in Fortnums, a very pretty, sturdy calendar and the products were decent sizes.

I've mentally put this on next years list. Can't justify it this year unless it went 50% off (highly, highly unlikely).
