Whats your brand personality?

Just curious....do you have a particular brand that is just 'you'?
Somewhere you can spend hours window shopping and know you will love almost everything or are you more of a varied shopper.

Im abit of both. I have 1 favourite brand that I tend to live in (and feels like my personality in a nutshell!) and another that is my 'bit on the side', both of which are abit spenny for me so I stalk the sales and Vinted.
Vinted is also where I branch out, alot of brands I'll happily buy second hand much cheaper but never go to the actual sites.

Hmm, the only high street store I can think of where I'd have happily worn pretty much anything was Gap in the 90s/early noughties. But even then, it didn't satisfy everything - I still went to Top Shop and vintage shops for a bit of glitter and glamour.

If money were no object, I'd wear a lot more Margaret Howell but I don't like everything she does so it's not quite the same, plus I'd still go somewhere else to 'top up'.

I have a habit of getting very into a look and wearing it more or less constantly, sometimes for 10 years or more, but I always get bored eventually and move on. So that's probably my style personality and I can't think of one brand that deals with that.

I do seem to have an issue with buying too much from Hush.
It used to be TopShop. I literally cried when it closed

PixieandMe · 02/10/2025 10:13

Usually love everything Sisley.

Shetlands · 02/10/2025 10:24

Monsoon Twilight on Vinted.
Disturbia has some midi/maxi dresses I love.
Fitted jackets at Joe Browns.

Edited

It’s coming back. In John Lewis. Will be interesting to see what that looks like, I was a huge top shot fan too, and think about it often

WhatdoesitmeanKeith · 02/10/2025 10:27

Topshop! Edit button won’t work for me.

KurtansFringe · 02/10/2025 10:40

I'm probably too old for TopShop now at 57 but i still have fond memories of the Kate Moss collab.

Needaglowup · 02/10/2025 10:48

The first thing I thought of was 90s GAP!

MorrisZapp · 02/10/2025 11:01

90s Ted Baker was HEAVEN.

TottenhamCake · 02/10/2025 11:23

Another vote for topshop. If I was ever in desperate need of an outfit, guaranteed would find one in there, every time. the make up was amazing too.

Achewyhamster · 02/10/2025 11:35

20 years ago,I would have said Joe browns

I loved 99% but they went weird with their cheap fabrics and dresses that fade after one wash

Now,I love lindy bop, lady vintage and hell bunny (thank God for vinted)

shiningcuckoo · 02/10/2025 14:37

In the late 80s/ early 90s, I absolutely loved Jigsaw. The silk shirts, the polka dots, the suits. I had a plain navy dress in a heavy jersey that i loved. It had covered buttons up the front, long sleeves with cuffs and a rounded collar. I also remember a black fitted velvet dress with a long flared skirt, a scoop neck and long sleeves that I wore and wore. I turned it into a skirt once I’d worn it to death. I still have it - nearly 40 years on.

Itsnottheheatitsthehumidity · 02/10/2025 14:40

Want Marina Rinaldi.
Can afford Very and Simply Be.
Plus a bit of supermarket chic.

JaninaDuszejko · 02/10/2025 14:47

Boden in the late 90s and early 00s. I bought pretty much all my clothes there for years. Loved that it was natural materials and colourful.

Nowadays I love COS with a passion but buy clothes in lots of places.

Comefromaway · 02/10/2025 14:51

My brands - Ralph Lauren & Max Mara
Bit on the side - All Saints & Loewe (the latter is more of a dream than a reality apart from a belt!)

thornbury · 02/10/2025 14:53

Stradivarius is usually a win.

curious79 · 02/10/2025 14:59

Me+Em & Max Mara / MM Wknd, then Dea Kudibal silk dresses in the summer

Floisme · 02/10/2025 15:02

Thinking about it some more, probably Vivienne Westwood when she worked with the likes of Harris Tweed and John Smedley, particularly in the late 80s - the blend of innovation with respect for tradition and quality,

atamlin · 02/10/2025 15:02

Vinted 😂

WithIcePlease · 02/10/2025 15:21

Sweaty Betty
Gym stuff obviously
Day to day wear including jumpers, T shirts
Coats, gilets and fleeces
Beachwear

I even have a SB dress - a slim black column dress that looks a bit like a swimsuit at the top - that I can wear with a casual heel to go out to dinner in on holiday

I rarely buy anything with a pattern and I don't like clothes that are stiff and restrictive

declutteringmymind · 02/10/2025 16:12

Zara

henlake7 · 02/10/2025 18:56

My main brand is Joanie. I'm a huge fan of quirky or retro and it really ticks all the boxes.
Second tier is Disturbia. It has lots of nice prints and I love little details on clothes like embroidery which it does well.

Lastly for CBA/at home days I love abit of Primark, it's never going to regarded as quality but I still have a few things from there that have held up really well over the years.

RaraRachael · 02/10/2025 18:59

Lol I was going to say Next as I can buy without trying on and about 90% of my stuff is from there.
However I feel a bit odd compared to all these other brands, most of which I've never heard of 😅

MonGrainDeSel · 02/10/2025 19:03

Places I can always find something I like: Anthropologie, Toast, Free People, Agnes B, & Other Stories.

Back in the 80s/90s, definitely TopShop, Hobbs and Jigsaw. Jigsaw seems very middle-aged these days and I don't really wear that kind of clothing. Can't remember the last time I saw a branch of Hobbs, and I don't think a teenager would be seen dead in there these days!
