I know this is for beauty advent calendars, but I need to share that I've bought the Harrods Christmas chocolate bear advent calendar. The box is stunning and I have such a weakness for Christmas teddy bears 😍🐻

I'm curious as to how much they were. 🥰

I love the Olverum. I've bought it three times since getting it in a Liberty edit. To me it smells divine and it leaves my skin super soft. You only need a few miniute drops. I guess it shows how individual scent appreciation is!

I also like Olverum and have had a few bottles in Bridal Beauty edits. I definitely would have chucked it if it smelled of burned sausages! I think it's largely Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary and juniper based which are oils I use a lot anyway. I didn't actually realise how expensive it was to buy. I love anything that just uses essential oils which is why I'm also a big fan of Neom.

£20. The box itself is gorgeous.

It's meant to be £20, but it had 10% off for the rewards weekend and I had £10 rewards voucher, so it was £8 😁

I’ve still got the Delina perfume and body lotion from the last JL calendar. It’s a lovely fragrance but I find it very strong. Can’t imagine wearing the perfume and the lotion at the same time, that would be pretty forceful!

Random skincare question - has anyone here tried the Laneige Bouncy & Firm sleeping mask (the pink one)? I love the Water version and am wondering if the Bouncy & Firm has the same light gel texture or if it’s a bit heavier.

I haven't tried the water one yet but have the pink one open at the minute. It is quite light and gel like unlike the Cica one which is a cream. It's fairly fragranced if that makes a difference - has a rose scent.

CorneliaStreet · 29/09/2025 19:48

Thanks. I like how lightweight the water one is, so sounds like I’d like the bouncy one too.

IlovePond · 29/09/2025 19:49

Thanks @2025istheyeari I am still pondering!

On a related note:

Shiseido a/c is now out: £185 - which is exactly the RRP of the few full sized products in there. As these can often be found on other sites with a 20% discount, it’s not exactly a bargain.

As a new customer, my discount code has worked on the a/c, bringing it to £157.25 and it also stacks with a GWP.

There are other offers on but these aren’t showing for me/working anymore- the site is very glitchy.

I haven’t bought it, but I would be interested to know if anyone on here can get a better discount or add other GWP.

Oh thats not too bad tbh. I was expecting a ridiculous price. I've never shopped at harrods. I may now look 🥰

I did get the Christmas bear cup too and now I'm wishing I'd bought the Christmas bear tea towel 🙈🐻🤣 I refuse to pay again for p&p

@Seahorses12 @RainbowZebraWarrior i enjoyed my bath! Maybe I did use too much but I don’t want to make the house smell unappealing to DH again. Seahorses I’m happy to pack it up and send to you, if you think it would be ok in a Liberty Beauty Drop box with some Liberty AC shredded paper. I must have got it from the She Deserves It Liberty Mother’s Day edit this year so not too old https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/she-deserves-it-beauty-kit-000835183.html I’ve only used a capful.

I’ve had a Liberty BD email saying “something big is coming for Beauty Drop members very soon” - wonder what!

On the Korres UK website the code WELCOME15 takes the AC down to £76.50.

TCB has 15% for Shiseido. Unlike many other sites on TCB Shiseido does actually track. I got around £18 back on the advent last year (can't remember what the offer was at the time - think it was something really good like 22%)

IlovePond · 29/09/2025 20:11

Ooh @OvaHere - if that worked it would be better. Wonder if it would stack with a new user code?

IlovePond · 29/09/2025 20:13

I got Shiseido for £127 last year at an outlet with no extra goodies. I was happy with it for that price, especially as I got rid of the lash serum and eye pencil via eBay.

OvaHere · 29/09/2025 20:17

IlovePond · 29/09/2025 20:11

I went back to my emails from last year. The calendar was £172. I used a 15% code and paid £146.20 plus the free gift (which I sold on Vinted for £20) and the £18.27 cash back.

I only unboxed this calendar last week. 😳

Branster · 29/09/2025 20:55

😂😂😂 @IlovePond it puts it in perspective when DH sees prices for all this stuff.
I've decided on a 5 year plan to train my DH to get me the Guerlain AC. No way would I buy it myself. It's not like a normal AC where you can try and sell some items to get some money back or you experiment with new interesting products or you stock up on favourites.
I need to brain wash him into believing it was his idea and that's how much these things cost and that's that. Maybe I can achieve this in 3 instead of 5 years. 🤔

HolaLolla · 29/09/2025 20:55

IlovePond · 29/09/2025 15:07

I was just thinking that @OvaHere - I have just had another look and the only DODs are:

Sparkling Jo - just horrible on me
Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman - couldn’t really smell it at all
Bibbi - again, awful on my skin

I didn’t get to smell a couple of the others, but not hopeful about liking them either given my unsophisticated nose!

I didn’t mind the Vanilla Powder and the Zephirine.

I would use everything else.

On the downside: DH came with me to visit the calendar in Liberty and knows how much it costs. It is way way more expensive than I should be considering buying, given how much stuff I already have and that the Rituals is in plain sight in the back room whilst the DIY beastie is under the sofa…

I don’t have any luck selling stuff so don’t expect I’d get much back by putting those three on eBay.

I have genuinely considered buying it and putting it away for Xmas 26, (aka hiding it🙀)

If you do decide to get it and want rid of Sparkling Jo, I might be interested. I think it’s gorgeous, albeit does not last long, so that 10 ml sample will not go a long way. Already got a few back up ones to stash away 🙈

could you share your vint4ed name - im be interested!

I’ve pm’d you!

Giftwithpurchase · 29/09/2025 21:48

Surely that Dior calendar price is a misprint and they've added an extra 0 - I'm mean £6 grand?!?! Insanity 😂

Giftwithpurchase · 29/09/2025 21:50

My boots skin calendar arrived today and I've resisted diving into it as have a day off tomorrow and going to take my time looking through and deciding what to use first. Can't wait!

BakeOffRewatch · 29/09/2025 23:03

It looks like the M&S Advent £60 with £35 purchase will meet my winter sleep, bath and body wants https://beautyadventcalendar.net/ms-beauty-advent-calendar-2025/

It’s got:

I’ve never had it before so the repetitive aspect wouldn’t bother me. I got the summer kit which is the first M&S item I bought and really liked the Bloom and Blossom body cream, didn’t appreciate the Floral Street fragrance but I don’t seem to like any fragrance products whether high street or luxury edits. Goes on sale October 9th. Same day as Aldi wooden toys special if anyone else is enjoying that life stage in the family! I think I’ll get it and start using it. It does have Weleda which PP had explained has a history of being tested on prisoners in nazi concentration camps. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy7pgd5nkr6o.amp Just repeating here as the discussion was a couple of threads ago. Think discussion also said it’s less value for money than last year when it was £50 and came in a nice bag and was worth similar https://beautyadventcalendar.net/ms-beauty-advent-calendar-2024/

M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2025 - Contents, Price

Marks & Spencer advent calendar for 2025 is worth £330 and has 25 surprises to enjoy. Contents include Clinique, Estée Lauder and Nuxe.

@HolaLolla - I don’t think I will be succumbing to Liberty - more’s the pity, but it fascinates me how scent smells differently on people. It’s not just about which scents we like - it must be something to do with our body chemistry. On me, SJo smelt just like I had poured lager over my hand, (it has champagne in it, apparently). I was genuinely disappointed as the bottle is so beautiful!

Meanwhile, I passed on the Creed Mini that smelt like mouldy, damp wood on me and DS to my friend today. It smelt nice on her - bore zero resemblance to what it smelt like on us!

@Branster - I daren’t even look at Guerlain!

IlovePond · 29/09/2025 23:59

@OvaHere - thanks for the reminder about cost of Shiseido and discount last year. I’m still ploughing through the contents of last year’s calendar so mustn’t succumb to this one.

If I hadn’t already got carried away with the offer on Rituals then maybe. It does have a lot of little moisturisers that seem to last forever, (but I have loads to use already!)

MidnightMeltdown · 30/09/2025 00:24

JL is now available. I’m tempted!
