I have started a new thread for all things Toast related !

I like the green and burgundy Donegal jumpers, but I really don’t need another green jumper (or burgundy really, for that matter)….

I also quite like the shape of quilted shirt (especially from the side) but it’s so expensive and only in navy, which isn’t a great colour for me.

Also like the black velvet skirt but, again, there isn’t exactly a dearth of black velvet in my wardrobe (sounds like a collective noun!).

Like both the Blundstone offerings too, and the socks!

And the gold (Gold! Think it’s the first time I’ve seen gold jewellery on Toast) necklace.

Oh dear. Need to step away. Luckily I don’t wear trousers!

BankfieldForever · 02/10/2025 15:33

Sooo many trousers. So much navy. And the things I would like are extremely expensive. Sigh.

faustina · 02/10/2025 15:41

I really love the long fingerless gloves (in red) and the little hand warmers. I think I'm going to try the hand warmers in brown

CakeAndJazz · 02/10/2025 19:11

@IlovePond I’m so sorry your FM sandals didn’t work out, how disappointing. Would it be worth looking out for a red pair at the next sale? I’ve had some light rain on my FM trainers and they dried up okay, but I’m not sure they would hold up well in a downpour.

@faustina those hand warmers are sooooo lovely - please do let us know what they’re like if you do manage them, as I’d like a pair too.

I hadn’t spotted those - agree they are lovely and definitely in red!

ScottishMouse · 02/10/2025 20:10

I have those long fingerless gloves in grey from last year. They are great.

Stoic123 · 02/10/2025 20:58

Yes the fingerless gloves are very nice - I have the brown version from last year and have just bought a grey pair for a birthday present.

I like the handwarmers too. I bought the Nishiguchi arm warmers last year (grey and teal versions) - they were my favourite Toast AW24 purchases.

IlovePond · 02/10/2025 21:29

Thanks for the info @CakeAndJazz I need to keep looking for some more waterproof trainers. I might try the red FM if they reappear in the next sale.

My final sale parcel arrived

The Crinkle cotton Berry pj's were full price
Incredibly thin

The Gathered waist linen jumpsuit
Very oversized width ways but I had to sort of fold myself down to get into it and pull it up over my shoulders.
Too short in the body

Will send back tomorrow

Sale purchases
2 pairs of the Seren flat front denim trousers.
Will see how the waist goes, I might take them in.

There are so many trousers now, it's hard to keep up.
I would prefer 10 core styles ( wide legs, Annie's cropped and FL, Barrel legs, Gabis, Alix, Culottes, Knee length shorts, shorts and jeans) with options for petite, regular and tall and seasonal fabric changes rather than all these similar styles.
I dream of tall Gabis, I can take the waist in myself .

Not an awful lot that interests me in the new drop
Mainly flinching at the prices !

IlovePond · 03/10/2025 08:16

Although I have many, many pairs of gloves and hand warmers squirrelled away in various corners of PondTowers nestled inside my hundreds of hats, I am very drawn to those hand warmers!

I’m thinking that if a Kindred gift ever puts in an appearance, (and it’s now almost a year since the last one), then I will take the plunge. I like the brown, but blue would go better with my new Toast coat.

Re: Kindred gifts

I know they are bonus freebies, but to go from twice a year to ??? without any explanation is pretty poor.

I also went to several really good in-person Kindred events last year, (with freebies), and I haven’t seen any this year.

I hope Toast aren’t secretly winding down Kindred without telling us.

@CashmereCat oooh yes long length Gabis would be great. I'm not tall, about 5'5", but had to sell on my Gabis as they kept getting stuck on my calves giving a comical 80's knickerbocker look. Each time I sat down, they'd ride up to at least mid calf and then get stuck when I stood up again - drove me potty.

This was exactly my experience! I don’t think I have especially big calves, but it drove me mad too. I loved the soft chalk-coloured corduroy they were made of but they had to go.

RockaLock · 03/10/2025 11:58

I was sort of semi-boycotting Toast since they chucked me out of kindred (seemed a bit petty, especially when the delivery pass is only, what, £15 a year? So it’s not like it cost them very much to keep my membership going!).

Well, I say boycotting, I just wasn’t really looking at their website as much as usual.

I did succumb to the sale, though, but both items are going back - the poplin sun dress was beautiful, but the recommended 8 was just a wee bit tight around the arm holes.

So decided to also send back the sleeveless t shirt I’d ordered, but might have kept if I’d been keeping the dress - it was fine, just not very exciting.

I’m really gutted about the dress though. I did contact customer services to see if they had any 10s, in any colour, but sadly not 😢 I should have learnt by now, to order multiple sizes from Toast!

I usually love autumn fashion. I think it’s my favourite season, but despite dark brown being a great colour for me, nothing in any shop anywhere seems to be grabbing me. Maybe I finally have enough clothes! (Surely not…)

Haha glad Im not the only one.
Im taller and they sit under my knees.
I also have fairly slim calves anyway.

I found the Hush Jack Barrel leg trousers which are similar but the proportions are better if you are pear shaped like me.
They do come up generously -I sized down and they are still a nice relaxed fit.
Mine fit like the photo of the new Burgundy ones , which I am considering .
For Winter I wear the Hush Liza Cord trousers which look AWFUL in the modelled shot she looks like she has slumped after eating a huge roast dinner
They are nice warm straight leg cords, very soft, robust and comfortable.
Sized down again.

I have the grey long gloves and wear them a lot.
I do like those handwarmers but feel like I should knit some

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/10/2025 08:24

A week later my order has been dispatched but no sign of delivery.

IlovePond · 04/10/2025 09:36

That’s shocking @Theteapotsbrokenspout - hope it all arrives ok and is lovely!

Stoic123 · 04/10/2025 10:23

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - do you have a tracking number? Is it lost in the Royal Mail network or is RM still waiting for it?

I've still got a sale order item outstanding. My order has been partially despatched which makes me think Toast is waiting to see if there is a return. If so, it's another example of poor stock control - some of you having had cancellations.

IlovePond · 04/10/2025 11:21

I’m still not convinced Toast have refunded me for the cancelled socks - I must get round to checking my cc bill!

It’s pretty poor CS all round!

BTW: It’s the SUPERSECONDS sale this weekend online.

I found a maker who sells hand warmers, hats and cowls in lambswool. I haven’t got one myself, but they look nice:

Also looking quite nice are these Scottish leather goods, particularly the bags and the little leather goods would make good Xmas presents:

It all seems very slow doesn't it? Even my returns are slow. I sent four orders back (a mix of full price, reworn and sale) and only one has been acknowledged so far

I have ordered the brown hand warmers after carefully checking I hadn't bought them last year 😃- I know I thought about it and I haven't done my annual pre-winter glove sort out. I'll report back. Still no gift mention in the order email!

faustina · 04/10/2025 15:41

@IlovePond - thank you for those links - they look great!

IlovePond · 04/10/2025 15:53

You’re welcome @faustina - I have a few things in my basket…

The lack of a Kindred gift is a bit disappointing - particularly as I was told one was coming in September. I wonder if Toast developed supply issues with it - they must need hundreds of items, (if not more), during Kindred free gift periods.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/10/2025 16:21

My parcel arrived while I was out this morning, no RM notification (again). I really don't think I can be bothered to open it, summer trousers that I definitely don't need now.
And none of my returns (sent on Monday) have been acknowledged yet either.

AmethystMoonShine · 04/10/2025 17:15

I have been into Mayfair Toast today and bought the Dianthus dress in the colour I think was called golden lime. It’s fabulous for anyone with autumn colouring. Eye watering at full price but I needed a dress for a special occasion and could find nothing else so striking. As usual in that style I sized down.
Also collected my repaired dress and it is great. I asked for a visible mend as it was so badly torn (🤬nail) and had nothing to lose. It’s not as obvious as I thought it’d be but I love it. They’ve used the Japanese technique I forget the name of with lots of little stitches and in a matching colour. You can see it but it blends well. Very happy.
Also saw @faustina’s brown hand warmers which are very nice. Also liked the red long gloves.
Not much footwear in store and actually although most of the new things are there there are lots of items not on display or maybe just out of stock?
The new orange striped PJs are bright but soooo soft. I shall stalk those if they make it to the sale.
