A few new bits on the website…

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/10/2025 23:57

Ooh, thanks @CakeAndJazz , a few nice things, prices continue to climb though. Love the lofty alpaca cardigan and this dress www.toa.st/collections/womens-new-collection/products/vespertine-floral-print-column-dress-slate

CakeAndJazz · 16/10/2025 09:07

@Countmeout that cardi in the brown is beautiful. And I love the wool cashmere oversized trousers and jumper coord in charcoal. But I’m afraid I can’t afford any of it at those prices.

AmethystMoonShine · 16/10/2025 13:02

I agree @ToastCosILoveIt the lofty alpaca cardigans are lovely. I have a navy one and a grey one from a few years ago and a black Brora now which I am wearing today. They're so snuggly and warm. Might need to wait for a sale though at those prices. Love the colours this year, the chestnut and the olive.

Does anyone have the Orla donegal jumper from previous years and has tried on/seen this years colours? I like the green but at these prices i am hesitant. A lot of the reviews say that a tshirt/shirt underneath can be seen through the shoulder and the quality isn’t what it was.. i do think the prices are ridiculous and I buy a lot less than I used to

I have one of last year’s Orlas which I shouldn’t have bought because it’s too big … I popped into a toast yesterday to try a few things on. I’d say the new ones aren’t as nice quality as last year’s and I think they may be a tiny bit more expensive. So they’ll be a sale buy for me if at all.

other thoughts in case useful for anyone - I loved the quilted trousers discussed above and will probably go back and buy as they are lovely and warm and were v flattering on me.

the night sky neat cashmere jumper https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-cashmere/products/wool-cashmere-neat-sweater-night-sky- I’d read reviews some of which said it was lovely, others said it looked like it had been washed with a tissue so I was dying to have a look - one of the lovely staff went downstairs to hunt one out for me. They were too professional to say but I think we were all team tissue 😊

I like the neat sweaters and would be tempted for that one, but I can see the tissue effect now you’ve pointed it out - also a bit like someone has painted the ceiling whilst wearing it.

Countmeout · 16/10/2025 19:40

I can get that tissue effect without paying for it!
Lovely cardigans. The verry expensive dress is lovely. I am on a (temporary) no spend as I bought the (also verry spendy) navy coat. Saved £180 by returning the sale shorts and a shirt . So it didn’t cost that much 😬

Thank you! I will be skipping the Orla’s in that case. A few different reviews said the same thing!
i have the teal coloured marled cashmere mix neat sweater from last year and it’s very nice!

mizu · 16/10/2025 20:18

A lot of nice new things but my eyes 👀 at the prices. They seem to have really increased this year. @ToastCosILoveItI too love both those items.

IlovePond · 16/10/2025 20:21

Well, Toast must know I am away this half term, because there is no sign of a sample sale!

And what happened to the Kindred gift??? Am I right in thinking the last one was last year, or was it January?

OP posts:
mizu · 16/10/2025 20:39

@IlovePond waiting for that sample sale email….

IlovePond · 16/10/2025 20:40

It’d better not come whilst I’m away @mizu 😹

IlovePond · 16/10/2025 20:44

Speaking of jumpers, I went wild in M&S as I had 20% off knitwear and spent a whopping £16 on a baggy pink jumper - because - why the heck not?

DH, who is sublimely oblivious to all my lovely Toast jumpers, actually noticed I was wearing it today and said: Lovely jumper - it really suits you!

Perhaps I will forgo the Toastie jumpers moving forwards 😹

Cardigans are appealing but not sure can justify right now.

Very cute tea cosys.

IlovePond · 16/10/2025 22:06

Gosh, tea cosies - haven’t thought of those since my Nana used to have a crocheted one!

OP posts:
faustina · 17/10/2025 07:48

Those tea cosies are lovely. Good idea for a Christmas present if they drink tea. I love the big alpaca cardigan too, except not the colour and definitely not the price

Stoic123 · 17/10/2025 17:21

Wasn't sure of the plural of cosy - don't think I've ever needed to write about multiple cosies. I might have to buy a teapot just to justify buying one....which would be rather silly.

faustina · 17/10/2025 20:07

@Stoic123 - my first time mentioning them too! I don't even drink tea but they look so ... cosy don't they? 😂

BankfieldForever · 17/10/2025 23:50

My refund for the sale parcels arrived! A week after landing back at toast and no communication from them at all.

I’ve just looked at the website at the new drop - some lovely things on there now, I think I’d order a few things to try, like the padded trousers and some of the wool fabric separates but the massive jump in prices suddenly! Oh my.

OftenOrange · 18/10/2025 12:09

My 20% off expires tomorrow and I can’t find anything I really want to buy.
That’s incredible, it’s the first season I’ve felt so blah . It’s very much to do with colour ( I have plenty of brown , orange and cinnamon already) style ( all the same as before, nothing new and exciting) and awareness that nothing is going to be better than what I already have .
Toast has been a convenient one stop shop for years but I’m craving a bit of freshness.

ScottishMouse · 18/10/2025 12:52

I’d be using that 20% discount on a beautiful new coat @OftenOrange.
I ordered the new black linen cotton herringbone trousers. They will be far too long, but apart from that, I’m hoping they will fit and be comfy and versatile. They should arrive today. I have also ordered a pair of Sideline Billy trousers from elsewhere. Has anyone got these? A friend said they were enormous and made her look huge, so I’m not holding out too much hope.

oddandelsewhere · 18/10/2025 13:41

This is a bit off topic, so I'm sorry but I wonder if anyone (possibly @BankfieldForever ?) knows of a dress pattern to sew a boat neck dress similar to the Freya ones? I have many Freyas, but they are all blue except for last year's mini black and white gingham which is less than flattering on me, and the olive one which I regret to say makes me look a fright.

There's been very little to tempt me in Toast recently, mostly because of the colours but also because my foray into buying Toast trousers in the Spring and summer only
made me remember why I really only buy OSKA trousers (beautifully made, in Europe, worth every penny!) However I would like a new Freya style dress in a dark red.

I used to make my own clothes and would say I am fairly competent. I only ever used Vogue designer patterns, but there is nothing there that would suit me now. Could someone point me in the right direction?

thank you.

faustina · 18/10/2025 14:53

@oddandelsewhere this is from Merchant and Mills. Maybe it could work? I don't sew but sometimes look at their fabrics and wish I could:

@ScottishMouse - I had those billy trousers and they were really comfortable but the leg shape was too wide for me. On the plus side it was just the right length for short people! Which colour did you get?

AmethystMoonShine · 18/10/2025 15:19

@ScottishMouse I had some sideline Billy trousers in the most beautiful tobacco colour but sold them on as they were just far too large.
i prefer Beyond Nine Huxley trousers. Still that look but a bit neater.

OrangeyLemon · 18/10/2025 15:33

I feel like my Toast wishlist has never been longer! I wonder if I should try manifesting a 20% discount..
