Seriously, where are all the mid-range clothes at?

Looking to boost my autumn/winter wardrobe a bit with some smart casual knitwear. Need natural fibres, so high % of wool and cotton. No acrylic SHEIN shite, and no £300 Jigsaw jumpers either.

Does what I'm looking for exist for around £50-£60 an item? I'd like it to last, and have found some nice bits in & Other Stories and French Connection before, but they're a bit bland and colourless I find. I love bright block colours and classic slim fit stuff, so find the trendier shops pretty hopeless.

And me

Summerhillsquare · 20/09/2025 20:58

Seasalt

peanutbuttertoasty · 20/09/2025 20:59

Try woolroom? Pure?

Handeyethingyowl · 20/09/2025 20:59

Vinted.

RosesAndHellebores · 20/09/2025 21:00

Oliver Bonas? M&S had some nice knktwear today. It looked different and a bit fresher.

dun1urkin · 20/09/2025 21:00

Woolovers is your best bet for reasonably priced smart/casual knitwear in natural fibres.
The staples come in loads of different colours

Raisedbed · 20/09/2025 21:03

Thanks all. I've looked at M&S, Woolovers and Seasalt. I'm a bit young for their styles yet...and Oliver Bonas has fantastic colours but they're a bit too on the nose for my style 🤔 I'm gonna get roasted for being too fussy...

The styles are awful though.

Next?

Maybe it's time I stopped avoiding Boden!

Boden is a bit weird now.

It seems Cos and Arket have collared this market.

But their styling isn’t for everyone.

BoysRule · 20/09/2025 21:08

I like Mango for jumpers.

YerAWizardHarry · 20/09/2025 21:08

Zara had some nice bits the other day including cashmere cardis that were on the spenny side

Gymbunny2025 · 20/09/2025 21:09

How old are you Op to think you’re too young for M&S? I agree Boden also good for knitwear

NapoleonsToe · 20/09/2025 21:16

Uniqlo?

dancingqueen345 · 20/09/2025 21:18

Abercrombie!

Livelovebehappy · 20/09/2025 21:25

Love Joe Browns. Bought a lovely coat and jumper yesterday. But I also called into Tescos today for some bits, and thought they had some lovely styles there. Was half tempted to invest in a few staples. Might call back in when I have more time..

Overtheatlantic · 20/09/2025 21:30

Cotton Traders? I just bought a lovely chocolate brown cardigan.

WatchingTheDetective · 20/09/2025 21:31

I've just looked at the clothes on the Boden site and need Botox now, I've been frowning so much.

I'm in my 30s. Just had a nosy around Nobody's Child (Iast year I bought a bright summer dress in the sale from there which I love) and it's OK; loads of cream cardigans but also some fun among the boring.
COS is really expensive!! Will try Arket now.

Personally I think M&S has some great pieces for good value and definitely wouldn’t discount them in your 30s

Plinketyplonks · 20/09/2025 21:35

I’ve recently had nice things from Palome.

FurForksSake · 20/09/2025 21:36

I keep seeing ads for joules new heritage range and can’t decide why it looks so meh, reasonable quality but not quite right.

sugarhill Brighton might have something?

LadeOde · 20/09/2025 21:44

I don't think Arket is any cheaper than Cos to be honest.
