Help me style this skirt please

Hi I've just bought this skirt from M&S but not sure what to wear it with. The model is wearing it with black which I would rather avoid. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am 5'8, size 10/12 and apple shaped so would prefer not to tuck anything into the waistband.

I think it’s very versatile actually. It’s a gorgeous colour and would work well with lots of colours, depending on your own colouring of course. I think it would work well with emerald green, deep plum, mustard, teal or softer colours like grey or blush pink.

There is nothing out there about this skirt. It’s lovely and if you think it through a bit you’ll find it works with so many pieces.

So surprised at the early comments, which were ott mean, it’s a lovely skirt, I’d wear that with navy, off white, light tan, or charcoal.

Some good colour suggestions from pps, I think. Just wanted to say I think it's nice, love the colour and can totally see it with knee-high boots.

I absolutely love the colour. I would wear it with black or dark navy.

Failing that, burgundy or dark grey.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions, and I am glad (most of) you like it! I love the colour, that is what caught my eye. I will definitely keep it and try some of the suggested colours with it. Then I will have to decide on footwear..I might be back for more tips!

Agree with this one. I love the colour I would go white on top. But I can’t get past the polyester. Sorry OP as not what you were asking.

Silk leopard print cami.
Sheer white blouse with flowers, something made from organza or similar perhaps.
Grey ballet cardigan, one made from mohair or alpaca.
Silk navy puff sleeve blouse.
White blouse with black polka dots.

Yeah I'd wear an oatmeal / beige alpaca jumper with this. Add some chunky boots.

I'd find it pretty impossible tbh... it's not the colour, it's the fact you're an apple. I'm a somewhat apple ish shape too, and this skirt just would not suit me. It would highlight the roundness of my middle section, or, make me look like a wide column shape.

I agree. Some of the comments are like stepping into a twilight zone. It's not a harsh colour. It's a dark blue. What colours would you wear with jeans? Not really dissimilar.
