I’m in the market for a new handbag, I can no longer afford anything too luxurious but equally I’d like a nice, decent quality bag.

I can’t decide on what I want so show me yours! 🫶

I've a Coach Willow Tote bought in the sale years ago for £127. It just works and has a zip top. It's a bag I just go back to. Worth full price on a cpw basis.

I've bought nice bags from Oliver Bonas, either for work or to match a specific outfit.

Agree with the Radley comments. They are good value but we're bit stodgy a cpl years ago. Will have a look to see if they have edged up a bit.

Time for work and yo grab the tatty Coach Grin

I use a backpack from Whistles, a leather one called ‘verity’. Mine is blue and from Vinted, I probably couldn’t stretch to a brand new one. It’s gorgeous though.

StressedEric · 02/09/2025 07:47

le Pliage range also for me -
L shoulder bag for home / weekends and xl for work /laptop/ travel

DoubtfulCat · 02/09/2025 07:56

I have a belt bag from Forage (you can lengthen the straps and wear it across the body as well) where I carry my phone etc, then I have a nice leather bucket bag from Vinted which I love but has no internal pockets, so disastrous for small items and I use for lunch, diary, laptop etc.

I bought a couple of Osprey messenger style bags from TK Maxx 2 or 3 years ago. One of them is a bit like the Uniqlo bag - but looks a bit smarter. The other one is smaller and more rectangular. The straps are interchangeable. They've been very useful.

I was given this Radley bag for my birthday a couple of months ago and I love it! It’s so beautiful and functional I’m putting the oak colour on my list for Santa.

I prefer a cross-body bag for everyday use and I'm on the second of these. The first lasted several years. Three zipped compartments keep everything safe. No gimmicks, works summer and winter.

My current one was from White Stuff, about £60. Irritatingly, it's bombproof, so still looks fine 4 years on, but I'm sick of looking at it now.

Yep, I rotate a tan and a navy White Stuff bag. They're indestructible.

I bought the Uniqlo shoulder bag last year specifically for a trip to London as I wanted something really light to use that I could cram loads of stuff in to use instead of my lovely leather Marc Jacob's bag. Well I haven't stopped using it, I love it. My dd has one too and I just bought one for my mum. Very plain but perfect.

Radley have some lovely shoulder bags, I recently bought one for myself for my birthday and I love it.
The only negative is the phone pocket doesn't fit my phone but it's not a deal breaker.

I'm so tempted by this. It's like the Uniqlo bag made smarter for work!

@RobinTheCavewoman you might want to take a look at this one. I was just thinking it's exactly like the uniqlo bag but for work.

tinyspiny · 02/09/2025 11:36

My go to bags are usually Radley , Fossil or Osprey all from the outlet centre .

ruethewhirl · 02/09/2025 12:02

I have this in the animal print and love it, am toying with the tan as well, just looks so classic.

I like the fact that it's a similar styling to the Uniqlo bag which I love, but big enough for busier days. (Oh and as for that Radley a pp posted... head spins 😍Not sure I can justify the price tag, though!)

I use a tan leather crossbody bag by Rowallan from TK Maxx. Or a mini backpack from Decathlon.

henlake7 · 02/09/2025 17:16

I love Yoshi! Sadly I dont support leather but I do always keep an eye out for any on Vinted (Im less torn about second hand items!).

Im a Uniqlo fan as well. I think I have about 10 of these bags (combination of Uniqlo sales and the Primark dupes). Just the right size and I can match colours to outfits.

I’m just browsing on their website and they do vegan bags as well!

You won't be disappointed. I have 5 Ollie and Nic bags - in different colours/styles. I love them. They are so useful. Look compact but fit a lot in them. I like that I can change the straps around on them.

It came today and I love it!

Definitely Roka or Le Pliage.

NippyNinjaCrab · 02/09/2025 21:23

Thanks for this thread OP! I love these bags suggested, some are out my price range at the moment but others are right up my street ♥️

Parfois are good for inexpensive leather bags, especially their totes.

I bought this one recently and it’s lovely.

Unusual items on Parfois 😅
