I have the leather bucket bag (which i use with an organiser) and a gingham sling bag but, and (i know you said no tab close), but this one has ruined me for all others,

It closes in beautifully even if the tab isn't closed. I tie the tab if I'm in a high risk area but I can leave it open as a dump bag too. I can wear it cross body or shoulder and different lengths. Perfect for my dodgy back. Definitely looks modern and very very light. I loves it. Heaven only knows what I'm going to do when I have to go back to smart bags when the holiday is over!

In all honesty i think it might just go with a number of my smarter outfits too (I like long structured but slightly slouchy trousers) so i might just never use a different bag again.

I use a Fablou Luna. I have it in multiple colours. IIt’s not the most stylish of bags but I use crutches all the time which have knackered my shoulders so I can’t use anything heavy because they cause me pain. The Luna is really light, plus it fits my Kindle and water bottle which is a bonus.

You won't be disappointed. I have 5 Ollie and Nic bags - in different colours/styles. I love them. They are so useful. Look compact but fit a lot in them. I like that I can change the straps around on them.

Ever since I bought my Uniqlo bag, I stopped using my nice ones especially during travels. I have even taken it to a few fancy restaurants because it was with me the whole day and I didn’t have time to go back and change.

My go-to is my beige Cambridge Satchel Company bag, which must be at least 6 years old now. The leather just keeps getting softer and lovelier. Not cheap, but has withstood some rough use.

I have bought several Gigi bags from T K Maxx over the past few years. All leather, in various styles, shapes and colours, and I haven't managed to destroy one yet! Never paid more than £50 . Great quality, though obviously choice and availability is limited at TKM. Examples on Amazon here:

I don’t think I use anything other than my Longchamp pliage daily.

Whatever is black reasonably roomy and has some inner pockets/sections, looks reasonably made and is on the shelves at TK Maxx - I switch about every 18 months and pay about £34 a time

A Radley cross body bag in tan, new without tags (but still had all the tissue paper around the strap and inside) for £50 from Vinted. It's lovely, goes with everything.

I have a couple of Fiorelli bags I got from TK Maxx & am now looking at the Radley bags. Ironically my favourite handbag is from Matalan, I made it look more expensive by adding key charms clipped to the rings for the handles & using a Fiorelli purse in exactly the same colour, it was well made, had pockets for phone, keys etc. Other than that look at Next who have some lovely leather bags for under £100.

I also use my canvas tote bags as well.

The Uniqlo bag for me too! I'd like a smarter version of it for work but may just get a cord one instead.
