Kate looking rather frumpy today.

Cassiope · 18/09/2025 13:06

I like brown, but not when it's used to make an outfit look drab (is there a verb for that?).

Lifestooshort71 · 18/09/2025 13:09

I love Melania's brown suede jacket! I can feel how soft it is from here!

locketrocket · 18/09/2025 13:10

I think I’d prefer Kate to be wearing culottes. A bit more on trend than that skirt.
The top half is far too busy.

Melania looks good.

Impressions of today

Melania
Leather outfit - not a huge fan as it seems too much and resembles a car seat. The jacket or skirt on their own would be fine.

Scout outfit - like the tan/stone colour combination. I have never been a fan of safari-style jackets with 4 enormous pockets on the front which I think overwhelm her a bit. Also the choice of stone trousers leave her perched awkwardly on a primary school chair whereas Kate looks to be sitting or crouching on the ground.

Kate
Scouting green was an obvious choice and a dark brown lower half seems a practical choice for an outdoor event with small children and muddy grass. She's dressed for warmth with scarf and boots.

Camilla
A very standard Camilla dress in shape and colour. I don't think she's looking very well so will be happy to wave off the Trumps and have a whiskey (with or without Night Nurse).

Branster · 18/09/2025 13:20

Thank you @Maireas.
I find these threads really interesting and love seeing the true workmanship going in all the outfits and jewellery discussed here over the years. I very much admire the variety of styles and appreciate all the knowledge shared by all the contributors.

Naturally I sometimes think what was X thinking when wearing a particular outfit or with a certain hairstyle, but , hand on heart, I could never look as perfect as these women do. In my head I look amazing and dress really well, clothes are always fitted properly and I get things adjusted where needed, especially for occasions and in the mirror I look perfect to my eyes, the photographs are good but I don't come anywhere close enough to these standards. I concluded I am missing the tiaras to pull it off properly. I am so grateful I am not in the public eye, it would be disaster after disaster!

She's probably knackered after the late dinner last night. Remember she was sat next to Trump as well.

Camilla seems to have coped better than we might have expected.I saw from one news feed or the other that Charles has already left Windsor do presumably to London for treatment or back to Balmoral? Camilla will probably head for the nearest bed .

MrsLeonFarrell · 18/09/2025 13:48

Melania is always dressed in quite formal clothes so I wonder if Catherine decided to avoid her usual outfit activities with children outfit and dress up a bit more with a skirt. They look nice together and about the same level of formality and practicality.

Drivingmissrangey · 18/09/2025 14:00

I really like Melania’s outfit with the scouts, I think she looks great.

Yes I don’t know what time Trump left Windsor but the BBC reported at 11.54 that the royal standard was already down ie the king had left Windsor. I assumed they had hotfooted it for a long weekend at Highgrove / Raymill and I would say they have earned it.

I stand corrected about the scarf, and I'm really pleased that she's supporting the UK textile industry. I saw her visits last week in connection with this. The more support she can garner, the better.

Melania looks so relaxed with Kate and the kids (and no Donald). It seems bee keeping is the new upper class ladies’ hobby. Kate, Camilla, Melania and Meghan apparently all have them.

This is the nicest photo I’ve ever seen of Melania. She looks genuinely engaged and happy.

Possibly if she has a sinus infection they are taking precautions to protect Charles.

It's a great shot - she seemed relaxed with Kate interacting with the kids

I agree with @Maireas that double leather is a bit much, but at the same time I believe even formal fashion should have room for daring choices and a certain amount of experimentation and it's very chic for so much leather. The cut is well chosen for the ‘material’, the fit is perfect and Melania looks confident and totally at ease in it (always key). I'm giving it two thumbs up on her (unless it squeaks) - but I don't think many women would look as good in it as she does.

Check out the close-ups: the finishing is superb, with the neat pinking at the edges.

I used my tablet this morning so was able to get close ups of Melania leather suit. You're right, the workmanship is exquisite.

The leather suit is LV, apparently.

I was lucky enough to see the dolls house close up in when it was exhibited at the castle; not allowed to touch it obviously! I would have loved to poke about in it 😁

I saw it as a small child at Windsor. It wasn't behind glass then, I went home and asked for a dolls house for Christmas. My father duly built one out of two orange boxes, so four rooms. It was then clad inside and out, wallpapered, carpeted, a roof was put on, painted red, house painted white. I loved it so much.

justasking111 · 18/09/2025 15:05

Did anyone see the red devils parachute in with the two flags. Awesome in those weather conditions and the fog. When I worked for a military charity they parachuted in for the official opening of a new building. They were a fantastic bunch of guys. So handsome. Ladies were swooning. 😁

justasking111 · 18/09/2025 15:07

OH anyone notice Melanias shoes with the scouts. They were beautiful.
