Kate looks incredible - I really like the hair down with the tiara and a different type of dress to what we have seen her in for previous state dinners.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 17/09/2025 20:34

Kate looks great, the hair down with the tiara and the style of gown is a departure for her. There is something about the way that photo is posed that's a bit Royal Barbie.

Was it State banquets where the men usually wore knee britches and hose or was that for another event? Glad to see Charles and William have ditched that!

MrsLeonFarrell · 17/09/2025 20:35

Catherine looks lovely in that frock, Camilla is bringing the bling as usual. I think I preferred Melania's dress from last time but she looks happy.

I think she looks stunning! Do we know designer?

Phillipa Lepley (a wedding dress designer, but Kate has worn a dress by her before - an ice blue satin evening gown with a deep V-neck). It is a dress and a separate coat - someone on twitter says this is probably the design inspiration (by which I assume they mean this is one of Phillipa Lepley’s dresses).

Kate looks stunning. And I like the lovers knot tiara, it’s my favourite and if I was her I would wear it all the time too.
Camilla looking good too, though I’m not keen on the tiara. Someone once mentioned it looks like a paw print and I can’t unsee it now!
Not keen on Melania’s dress I’m afraid. She is lucky not to have to wear those awful orders. If I was Kate I would do away with them when I am queen!
they do all look lovely and smiley though.

MrsLeonFarrell · 17/09/2025 20:35

Trump's tails are a much better fit this time around.

smilesy · 17/09/2025 20:35

Maireas · 17/09/2025 20:33

Why do Trump's shoulders look huge? I'm not keen on Melania's dress, either colour or fit.

I think there is someone standing in the background who unfortunately looks as though they have been absorbed in to his right shoulder 😆

Choux · 17/09/2025 20:36

The tablescape for @Cassiope. You would barely know who was sitting opposite you with all the flowers and candelabras.

Trump looks like he is having the time of his life!

Choux · 17/09/2025 20:38

I feel like Kate’s hair is the colour it currently is to match this dress. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s darker again next week.

Yes, I agree, it's a different look and it really works.

Lucky Kate will apparently get the honour of sitting next to the Donald.

Sidebeforeself · 17/09/2025 20:40

Damn ! I nearly predicted gold for Kate tonight. She really suits it.. she’s glowing

There's usually plenty of wine 😊

Apparently it's William who has refused to wear the traditional knee breeches, so the King has gone for regular trousers as well.
Good call.

And that on top of refusing to wear a kilt! William obviously doesn't like getting his legs out 😁

derxa · 17/09/2025 20:43

Sky news coverage all the guests waiting for the festivities to begin. They all look like the cat that got the cream.

Choux · 17/09/2025 20:44

I doubt burger loving Donald will appreciate the menu. It reminds me of my teen and pre teen goddaughters being taken to a Michelin starred tasting menu dinner for a parent’s big birthday. They described the food as ‘too fancy’.

I think I would enjoy talking to the Donald. He’s an interesting man.

It would be fascinating, probably a bit strange as well, but mostly fascinating.

Choux · 17/09/2025 20:49

I feel like Donald would talk at you rather than to you or with you. His opening line to Kate earlier was ‘You’re beautiful’ which make me think he sees her as an attractive woman who married well rather than accomplished anything and he will think there is nothing to learn from her but she could learn from him. (Can you tell I don’t like him?)

Yuck.
