I watched the short BBC clip, but frustratingly pausing the video for a proper look darkens the screen! The colours are gorgeous, but I don't they've gone deliberately for American species. There are definitely Cosmos, Calendula and Scabiosa - all excellent choices.

Ooh. Rudbeckia (the yellow daisy-like flowers) - one of my bets for an American themed display - and Amaranthus (the dangly dark red), which is also American, although S. rather than N., I think. Thanks @justasking111

The flowers look beautiful.

The red might be Tithonia (Mexican sunflower). These will have enjoyed the warm summer. I think the King's gardeners have done us all proud!

I love, love, love the pink and orange colour theme for the floral decorations - one of my favourite floral colour combinations that I don't think we see nearly enough of.

Melania looks amazing. I bet her hat is pinned on so hard she couldn't just pop it on and off as required and as pp said, her hair will have been styled to suit that hat.
I have no real idea what I think about her, she seems very aloof, but she may just try to keep herself to herself.

Starter: Hampshire watercress panna cotta with parmesan shortbread and quail egg salad

Main: Organic Norfolk chicken ballotine wrapped in courgettes with a thyme and savoury infused jus

Dessert: Vanilla ice cream bombe with Kentish raspberry sorbet interior with lightly poached Victoria plums

Kate looks lovely. From an aesthetic point of view, the dress is ruined by those ugly ‘orders’ and the sash. But I guess there’s no option there.

Why do Trump's shoulders look huge? I'm not keen on Melania's dress, either colour or fit.
