I wish she’d cut her hair

Choux · 16/09/2025 18:08

That’s the same necklace and coat dress that she wore to Philip’s funeral I think. Very elegant look.

NewAgeNewMe · 16/09/2025 18:17

Charles looked visibly upset.

LhudeSingCuccu · 16/09/2025 18:58

Kate does funeral elegance like no-one else.

I wish she’d cut her hair though.

Cottagecheeseisnotcheese · 16/09/2025 19:35

I like her hair as it is, there is an obsession with thinking women need shorter hair as they get older it is not straggly it's just fine,

justasking111 · 16/09/2025 19:48

I was shocked at how some people had aged. I know many we don't see very often. So it stands out more. Prince Michael looks very frail now . It seems like yesterday his wife was an incredibly beautiful vivacious woman. Duke of Kent looked broken.

It's kind of like seeing relatives after a long interval you just want to hug them.

We know them so well, have done for so long, if you know what I mean.

I agree, I think all the Kents looked like they needed a big hug today - they looked so grief-stricken.

I think she likes the versatility that long hair gives her: she can wear it in any number of intricate up do's, half up, ponytail, loose etc. If she gets it cut short then it is a fixed style with fewer options available.

deeahgwitch · 16/09/2025 20:49

Lady Helen Taylor looks so elegant accompanying her father. Kate looks beautiful too but her hair is a little bit too long.
I always think her Mum and Dad must be so proud of her. She does the Royals proud at occasions like this. She is more Royal than the Royals themselves ie dignified but has the common touch her late mother in law had too.
Sophie’s shoes were different but I think she needed black opaque tights with them, not flesh coloured.
I think a certain paper with its photographs of Andrew and Fergie were doing them no favours.
At one stage in a video I saw, William and Andrew were standing together. You could almost see William squirm and he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but beside his uncle.
May the lovely Duchess rest in peace.

Trump tomorrow! I think the State Banquet is Wednesday.

Kate wore whopping stiletto heels again. While Lady Amelia wore strange (but probably very fashionable) clumpy shoes.
Meanwhile the Dutch royals dressed up for the state opening of Parliament

Amalia looks absolutely stunning these days such an interesting, strong face. She's looking slim and so much more comfortable in the spotlight. She is growing into her destiny.

I loved the young relative in her chunky brogues. Nice to see one of them being vaguely trendy.

The older generation of royals won't be around much longer. I think the Duke of Kent turns 90 in a few weeks.

But I could have done without pictures of Andrew gurning, grinning and sticking his tongue out in the background. I looked like he deliberately stood behind Charles and William to maximise his coverage.

I liked Kate's rewear - she does funeral chic very well. Anne looked effortlessly elegant and I liked Sophie's dress although not the ribbon bows on her shoes.

Oh and while we are discussing hair - I think that Fergie should lay off the bright carrot 🥕 hair colour as I think it ages her.

Maireas · 16/09/2025 22:08

I'm not sure about Max or Amalia's outfits, the fabric isn't hanging well. I like Alexia's purple dress, it looks very dramatic.

I think Max and Amalias outfits would look better in a stronger darker colour

Red is a harsh colour when it's a dye. My Irish friend had glorious red long curly hair. Twenty years later it's much softer in her forties more strawberry blonde . My aunt once a redhead as she went greyer had blonde highlights put in.

Lady Helen was wearing her mother's engagement ring yesterday which I thought lovely.

Choux · 16/09/2025 22:25

Sophie’s show bows are diamanté not ribbon. She wore them last week in Canada with a floral dress they (in my opinion) did not go with but I thought that might have been due to needing to change her outfits to tone them down a bit after the DoK passed away. Eg perhaps she planned to wear bright pink shoes with the dress and these were the only black shoes she had with her.

Lady Helen also wore her mother’s diamond and pearl brooch today. She looked so elegant and seemed such a support for her father who looked bereft.
