I wish schoolgirls weren't forced into wearing uniform skirts. I know ... they might have the option of trousers or shorts but they is often not the case, including here in New Zealand.

Most schools in the UK give them the option of skirt or trousers these days too, but most girls I see choose skirts. And of course roll them up to make them shorter but theyve been doing that since I was at school in the 90s!

I was driving past a secondary school during kick out time and thought it was interesting to see the new year sevens wearing looser skirts down to the knees (or trousers) and the older girls invariably wearing very tight, very short skirts. I don’t know how they get away with it as some barely covered their bums.

My school had a regulation skirt which had a triple pleat. It wasn't mandatory but other choices had to pass the 'skirt test' which was that it must stay in position and not ride up whilst lifting your leg up 2 stairs. The teachers would direct the test and your skirt was banned if it failed. I wonder if many schools have a skirt test these days 🤣

Perhaps we girls were being prepared for royal life!

We had the skirt test. You had to kneel on the floor and your hem had to touch the floor! You also had to have permission to remove your blazer even in summer.

My school had the skirt test. You had to kneel on a pile of two school hymn books and the skirt had to touch the floor. That made it well below the knee length!

I remember being up in Belfast and being 😮at the short uniform skirts on the girls. It wasn’t happening in Dublin then. (Mind you we wore our short divided skirts with a cardigan instead of a uniform pinafore back in the day 😂)
Now it’s all short uniform skirts here with obligatory fake tan on most. The pressure 🥲

Do the limerick girls still have the full length uniform skirts? Most girls near us can choose frumpy skirts or hideous trousers. A lot choose the frumpy skirts with waistband rolled over.

I’m quite tall, and was very slim in school, so either had skirts from the children’s section (which were very short) to fit my waist.
or go for adult length which fell down… my mum let me chose the kids skirt 😂

I think we are waiting for some royals to do something. Harry's outfits weren't very exciting. When is the Trump visit? I'm sure the Kent ladies will do their matriarch proud at her funeral, a sad event.

Here is CP Victoria looking fab. along with the rest of the Swedish royals (minus the one on maternity leave - I forget her name) at the opening of parliament and the following evening entertainment. Traditional to wear black and white.

I thought Harry looked spiffing this week. He looks good in a suit.

Well this is odd because here are Mette Marit, Sonja, Anne and Sophie also in black and white. The UK royals likely to be due to mourning and the Swedes are following tradition for the event but all the others is odd. I guess summer is over…

I love CPVs one shouldered jumpsuit - modern and sleek. Her sister wore what looks like a yawnsome, seen it too many times from Kate, Self Portrait outfit. It is Self Portrait isn’t it?

I hope she doesn’t give Kate any ideas to wear one of hers next week. It will be interesting to see if Kate and Camilla do outfit co-ordination with Melania and wear American labels like they did for the French state visit.

Two non monochrome outfits - CPV and Haakon opening a police station on the Sweden Norway border and Mathilde in a green I cannot put a name to doing something health related.

Haakon opening a police station is someone ironic given recent events for the Norwegian royals.

I think I prefer Madeleine's sleeveless SP dress to the short and long-sleeved versions.

I know he was shocked at how bald his brother was but he’s heading the same way himself.

That one shoulder jumpsuit is amazing.

Sadly male pattern baldness is his Windsor destiny.

It seems a little off balance, somehow. I like the skirt and blouse individually, I'm just not sure thet go together, nor with the hat. Maybe not the dark tights with those shoes. A winning smile, though, and great earrings.
