Evening Wedding in Spain.

I have just bought this dress for a semi formal evening wedding in Spain in late September.
I am a size 12 and it fits like a dream.

I'm going to wear some nude low heeled sandals and gold jewellery, probably earrings and a chunky bangle.

I am going to need a cover up as the meal and reception are being held in an outdoor restaurant. What would be the best choice?
I have a lovely edge to edge cream cotton knee length jacket but it might be too heavy/formal for eating.
I was thinking of a crocheted or quilted cotton waist length jacket? I am hoping for other ideas please!

Where in Spain as the difference in temperatures between north and south will affect the response?

it’s still hot in sept for a lot of Spain. It’s 27c here now for eg and it’s beaky midnight

So will altitude. If you’re in the mountains, much cooler than on the coast of the Mediterranean.

The wedding is just up the coast from Barcelona and is late September.
Having seen some replies maybe I don’t need anything to cover my arms but I think I would like to take something on a just in case basis.
I hate being chilly!

I think a pashmina would be all you’d need.

I would never wear a pashmina, I would go with a light weight cropped jacket/cardigan depending on its form.

I have a few Ella cardigans from Hobbs (MN won't let me post a link) in different colours to wear over dresses. I usually get them from the outlet so never pay full price.

But depending on where in Spain and when, you might not need it. The only time I wore mine during a recent holiday to Mallorca was on the plane.

Oooh I like the dress. Maybe pick up something when you arrive? Loads of beautiful clothing available, all of which is suited to the climate (just back!)

This could be nice and the gold buttons would tie into your jewellery

Ooh, where is the wedding if you don’t mind me asking? Hubby is from north of Barcelona and we married there, albeit inland rather than the coast. Catalan weddings are so much fun, friends still talk about ours as being the best wedding they’ve been to, more than a decade on! 😊 You should have a fantastic time.

How lovely. Have a look at the kimonos from One Hundred Stars- I wear mine all the time to cover my shoulders, it’s very light but also takes the edge off a cool breeze. They make short ones, which I personally prefer, but a long one would also work with your long dress.

Went to an evening wedding in Barcelona in September and everyone was sweating like pigs. No one went out side - staying int he air con.
You might need something for the air con but not the wether outside.

A lightweight crochet short lace cardigan would be perfect. I crochet one for my niece as she was going to a ball and her ball gown was sleeveless., It finished the look off perfectly .

Not too much cream, you don't want to look like the bride. A nice lace, light and airy pashmena perhaps.

Take a cover up, my bf's wedding in Spain was ruined for me because I was chilly - it's not worth the risk.

I'm going to go against most people here and say go with your original plan and take something. July/August you would definitely be fine but late September is so unpredictable in Spain, particularly in the north and especially the evenings. Could be hot, could be very chilly!
