Cheap materials and lazy design. If I buy a dress that looks like it has a good shape, such as a more 1950s shape, it often comes in a stretch fabric. I want to have a soft, cotton like material with proper tailoring not something that will stretch and make me feel like I'm walking into a room stomach first. And don't get me started on blooming jersey material!
Clothes seem to fade very quickly after washes now as well. I'm talking only a couple of times before you see a change.
Everything being long, mid calf or mini. I want knee length dresses that sit on or just above the knee. Being slightly shorter, it is quite tricky but this is the most elegant cut on my frame and I think looks great on most women.
Shoes. The only shoes that seem to go with dresses are boots (great for winter) or dolly shoes. Heels I ignore as they are not overly practical. I would like a nice dolly shoe that is made to not fall apart in the first week but are not hideously clumpy.
Jackets. I seem to think you often see men's zipped hoodies with the nice warm sheepy lining in many basic shops but you pay wayyy more for women's ones like it, if you can actually find it. Which means you have to wear more layers.
Personal annoyance for me are Christmas jumpers or more to the point the lack of elegant Christmas cardigans. I would love a beautiful , flattering, red cardigan with a simple Christmas design. These are rare beasts, particularly below a certain (high) price point.
Bras. Never knowing which size will fit you in a shop. Having them sit on you so you look like you have two entirely unrelated tits. I want them to be pushed together and under my chin without falling out. Mine are quite large and I hate the amount of bras with no padding. They need keeping in place. Yes, I know the individual book thing is probably better for you but I don't enjoy this look.
Tights! I do buy cheap as I wear them so often but even in the correct size of the box for my weight and height they are always baggy around my ankles as the day (hour) goes on. This was not such an issue ten years ago.
Sizing. Vanity sizing has gone too far and my clothes that were size 12 fifteen years ago are soooo much smaller than they are now. It helps the creep of weight.
Pants. What does everyone have against nice pant's gussets touching the sides of your legs rather than being cheese wire? And WHY do shops think that making the back of a pair of pants see through when buying a pretty underwear set is a good thing? I don't want to frame my arse crack!
Designs. I often find beautiful designs for children's dresses / clothes, that I would like in women's sizes. Jojo mamans new in have some lovely cardigans I saw today that would be nice. Simple, nice thick knitted cardigan with some flowers on. Monsoon have had some lovely girls dresses that would look great in women's sizes. I don't mean anything too childish, as there are companies that go too far with the patterns. I don't need a repeating, busy dinosaur pattern but one beautifully stitched dinosaur would be lovely thank you.
Designs. The extra bits we don’t need. I don't want puff sleeves or ridiculous ruffles. I wear a cardigan with everything and so a dress needs to be able to sit underneath it. I'd also like to see the dress being work with a cardigan on the model.
