Have you ever been online shopping and come across a picture and wondered what the heck? I was just browsing next online and came across this photo. Im not looking for jeggings but was rather searching 'new in' so maybe this is how jeggings look in the crotch area?

Would be interesting to know how many people bought that dress based solely online without seeing it in real life.

This has to be my favourite one I've found recently.

Because who doesn't lie on the banks of a lake like a discarded mannequin in their £250 dress.

The shit all over the bottom of her boots makes it extra 😗🤌

Batshit never mind bratsheva
I scrolled through the photos and they are even more hilarious, happily photo bombing an elderly pair(one in particular looks most unimpressed)
If I saw someone dressed like that I would think they had been on a drunken bender to the charity shop!

We did, for a while and then they removed it, not sure why tbh

Probably because in typical MN fashion people were laughing at thing they shouldn’t. Or the sensitive were getting upset.

It is reminiscent of the dresses my great nan used to stuff me in when I was a child. Although I am deeply un trendy so maybe "my gran dressed me" is what's in vogue at the moment

There was a petition to remove it because people were using it sarcastically and certain individuals were getting upset.

Reminds me of the Victoria Wood sketch 'I'm looking for my friend, Kimberly. She's really really tall and really really wide'.

That model IS Kimberly!

All Toast dresses look like that. You either love them and wear them or you are baffled.

I am a passionate fan of the Toast website when I'm feeling a bit down. This will out me to anyone who hasn't already spotted me from RL but the home section is pure joy - including the customer reviews. I can waste HOURS.

There are loads of emojis you can add which everyone can see by just quoting the post and adding it. The laughing emoji was removed because it was being misused.

Can we have a petition to replace it? Surely it would have been used far more often to actually laugh at something funny than for sarcasm. And even if it wasn't, don't some comments deserve a sarcastic laugh?

sort of the same but an ad popped up on my reels when I was scrolling instagram recently. It was one of these paid ads where an influencer models their “haul”. This was all M&S clothing. It was soooo weird.

The entire time she was kind of staring down to the floor, looking sad. It didn’t look like she was trying to be artsy and failing, she just looked miserable! I kept checking because I was convinced it was satire but nope. Quite a few comments asking if she was modelling a gun point or something. So odd and definitely not a good advert.

What's your problem with adding a laughing emoji that everyone can see? The Site Board discussed why it was removed and from the examples given, correctly so.

Apparently not!

Only on Mumsnet is it completely acceptable and even applauded to be absolutely vile to someone just asking a question, but it's considered too mean to laugh at something not funny or to do so sarcastically. Barmy!

I agree with you re how horrible people seem to be able to be without any moderation but the laugh emoticons weren't just being used sarcastically. They were being used hatefully (ie people's personal posts) or in a trolling way. It's a real shame that people behave like that.

I don't have a problem with adding a laughing emoji that everyone can see. It's just easier and quicker if the emoji is there with the others and I think people are more likely to use that than to quote and add a publicly visible emoji - just for simplicity rather than to keep it secret from others. But thanks for your reply. I've not seen the Site Board and didn't know there had been an explanation. I'll have a look at that.

But like... It's an emoji? Just ignore it? I'd argue the vile things people say on this website have way more scope to be harmful than a stupid smiley face.

If they're so emotionally fragile they can't cope with one ill used emoji maybe the internet isn't the place for them?

I was thinking her abs must be made of steel! (also I love the outfit, abit mental but fun!).

I dont mind the weird poses, its the resting bitch faces I cant stand. Puts me off the clothes if they are just making people miserable.
But I suppose thats how you know you are a 'proper' model and not a lowly catalogue model.🙄

Maybe it's not. But then maybe someone doesn't have anywhere else to turn.

It didn't bother me in the slightest when it happened to me (someone thinking they were being a totally hilarious troll in a pointless argument about nothing) but I guess your comments about vulnerability spin out into this too. Presumably MN decided on balance that it didn't add enough.

I guess one could just as easily argue that the more emotionally robust amongst us can survive without the emoji?
