Which sandals should I buy... Clarks or Timberland?

The Timberland are very chunky and rather "clod hopper" like, the Clarks ones not so much.

I will post the links...

Both are awful. Timberlands slightly less so.
Get Birkenstocks.

Both quite bad. Clarks are very old lady.

Just bought them. Feel great now.

Shopaholic100 · 13/07/2025 17:21

So sorry I don’t like either. If you literally have no other choice then the Clarks are very very slightly better looking. Have you tried sketchers they do wide fit and are very comfy, definitely more than the Clarks and timberland. If you’re near an outlet/store you might be able try them on.

Shopaholic100 · 13/07/2025 17:21

They also have arch support ones.

SENNeeds2 · 13/07/2025 21:01

I have wide paddles for feet now. I wear this pair in gabor - this is dark blue but I also picked up a black pair - the velcro means the fit can be adjusted but I don't think the velcro is obvious (or could be wishful thinking)

john lewis does a lot of wide fit sandals so worth going on there and checking them out just search under wide fit sandals and loads comes up - seem to have some good prices on hotter known for wide feet - I also wear dune wide feet too.

I have the Clarks ones and they are very comfortable - I was able to wear them for first time on very hot day and walked a couple of miles. I now feel slightly self conscious about them. But I will continue to wear them as basically I don’t care too much what the ‘I’m 93 and wouldn’t be seen dead in them’ MN brigade think. I also like the Timberland ones and lots of others posted in this thread so maybe I’m just undiscerning. Probably should be banned from the S&B board immediately.

elastamum · 14/07/2025 11:57

If you want comfy sandals look online at heavenly feet. They have some lovely styles and are super comfortable and not expensive.

Lochlorien · 14/07/2025 13:08

Have you looked at the Hotter collection? All very comfy and stylish - and they last forever.

WhistlingStraits · 14/07/2025 13:12

Hotter? Good grief. If anything screams old lady with bunions and fluid retention, it’s Hotter footwear.

If you're going for the fugly look it's generally best to go for the more trendy option. Otherwise it ends up looking, uhm, just fugly.

yeah this.

Make it look like you chose them for the exaggerated styling details, rather than comfort.

Nothing wrong with a bit of comfort. If you have wide feet, it's impossible to find decent shaped shoes that fit and are stylish too.

Neither! Sorry I just hate that style but if I had to choose I would say Clark’s as less bulky

DuchessOfNarcissex · 14/07/2025 13:37

@WhistlingStraits , that's unfair. They have lots of different styles.
These ones look nice.

Oh nothing wrong with comfort i agree. Nothing more unattractive than hobbling 🤣 but if they're both equal comfort wise you must care a bit about the looks? Hensley thread.

I find Fitflop and Birkenstock brands super comfy personally.

Tomasinabombadil · 16/07/2025 21:24

I like the Timberland. Make sure you get the correct size, not like the model in the video with her toes hanging over the front because the shoe is too small.🤣
