Which sandals should I buy... Clarks or Timberland?

The Timberland are very chunky and rather "clod hopper" like, the Clarks ones not so much.

I will post the links...

Fit Flop Gracie (range of different styles are called this) are pretty good for comfort and they look nice.

isthismylifenow · 09/07/2025 10:36

I like the Timberland.

I have a few pairs of their sandals and they are decent quality that last. And i wear sandals 9 - 10 months of the year.

I hope they come into stock in my turf for our upcoming summer as I would love some of them.

Blackoutbeans · 09/07/2025 10:38

Timberland

NoWomanNoBuy · 09/07/2025 10:47

Yes if it's comfort you're after Fitflop are excellent.

Both quite bad. Clarks are very old lady.

What a nasty thing to say

Timberland

Not a fan of the Clarks ones. Timberland ones are nicer.

But true, though. (I'm an old lady who wouldn't be seen dead in either of those styles. Fit Flop have lots of choice, are extremely comfortable and generally not nearly so fugly. )

DuchessOfNarcissex · 09/07/2025 11:39

@ButteredRadish It's ageist, and not true.

Posters like @WhistlingStraits seem to not realise that they will be elderly women one day.

Women who are older tend to have foot problems from wearing unsuitable footwear when younger, and seem to favour good arch support and comfort.

I have one pair of feet, and I hope they'll be healthy for decades to come.

I have these which are really comfortable and versatile.

roses2 · 09/07/2025 11:53

Can you try both on? I normally buy Timberland sandals but the plain style without buckle as I've read reviews that sometimes the buckle is uncomfortable.

DuchessOfNarcissex · 09/07/2025 11:56

Clark's and Timberland are decent brands BTW. Not knocking them, I have footwear from both brands. The Clark's I have are high heels and are amazingly comfortable for heels. My Timberland boots are comfortable too.

@Steelworks , there is something I like about those. They look like something my mum would like but also like sandals my feet would thank me for, without looking frumpy. The toe box is a pretty shape.

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 09/07/2025 12:34

Thanks again, all.

My feet were certainly squeezed into narrow shoes when younger and I have no idea how I don't have terrible bunions now 😳

I'm loving the suggestions, especially the Hotter brown sandals with buckles. They probably look too old woman-like, but i think they look extremely comfortable and slightly Birkenstock style which i like. Hopefully the buckles won't look too chunky with my wide feet 😅

I'm sure that I could easily wear daintier styles but my feet are far from dainty, so it's a case of a shoe that isnt too fugly but is also comfortable too.... maybe I've been looking at the wrong shoes so far 🤔 🤣

I have some great shoes from Clarks. In fact one of my favourite pairs of high heeled shoes is Clark's (yes, sooo much more comfortable than many others!), so I'm not being snobby at all. But given a choice between these two specific pairs I'd definitely have the Timberland.

Clarks have the advantage of differing widths so they're a good option from that perspective.

No, it’s your opinion.

That’s a given. We should assume that any posts on here, are just the poster’s opinion. I didn’t realise it needed spelling out like that.

EducatingArti · 09/07/2025 13:47

I actually have the Clarks ones. The soles are very padded/comfy. I don't class myself as an old lady yet!

Falingoth · 09/07/2025 14:05

I'm really struggling to understand why either pair look old fashioned or granny like. They look fine to me, and I'm 36.

Am I on the wrong board?
