Which sandals should I buy... Clarks or Timberland?

The Timberland are very chunky and rather "clod hopper" like, the Clarks ones not so much.

I will post the links...

I like the timberland ones.

Quirkswork · 08/07/2025 18:21

I don't think fisherman's sandals are in any way attractive or flattering so neither but if you really have to, then the Clarks.

Greentomatoes21 · 08/07/2025 18:52

Definitely the Timberlands for me!

FearsomeWretchedandWrong · 08/07/2025 19:19

Timberland!

KnickerlessParsons · 08/07/2025 19:28

I like both but the Schuh (Timberland) are more trendy

WhistlingStraits · 08/07/2025 19:29

Both quite bad. Clarks are very old lady.

AwakeNotThruChoice · 08/07/2025 19:34

Neither If you want an opinion from a 42yo women ! They both seem so old fashioned.

I wear DM sandals (Voss 2) which are far chunkier and really comfy. Also wear Teva sandals for really summer walks/camping/beach walks etc.

Timberland

Hellohelga · 09/07/2025 08:18

Timberland ones will be v comfy - thick sole. I have T sandals but a different style and I love them. Clarks ones are more a fashion sandal.

MiddleAgedDread · 09/07/2025 08:44

The Timberland ones look more trendy, the Clarks are on the cusp on being granny sandals. I can't imagine spending £70 on a pair of sandals though! Although I tend to wear them once a year in the evenings on holiday and they go in a box the other 51 weeks!

NoWomanNoBuy · 09/07/2025 08:46

Timberland.

DuchessOfNarcissex · 09/07/2025 09:08

Clark's

Wendywooooo · 09/07/2025 09:29

Timberland for me, had plenty of shoes from them and always good quality, hard wearing and long lasting

LoyalMember · 09/07/2025 09:32

They both look like you'd wear them to a Greenpeace conference, but the Timby ones at a push.

RosesAndHellebores · 09/07/2025 10:09

The ones which are most comfortable.

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 09/07/2025 10:15

Thanks everyone. My feet are awkwardly wide, and I am certainly a lot more fashionable than these styles - i just choose shoes for comfort 😅 If I wore a really gorgeous strappy pair, my poor feet would be squeezed in and I had all that when younger. My boring middle aged feet say comfort now!

If anyone has any better suggestions, please say... 😅

I really like the Timberland ones. For me, the Clarks really miss the mark as the style is meant to be chunky/fugly and the sole is too thin on the Clarks, which just pushes them into old-fashioned, speaking personally.

tinyspiny · 09/07/2025 10:25

Have a look at Heavenly Feet , their sandals etc are really comfortable . Of the two linked to I don’t like the style but the timberland ones are definitely nicer

DuchessOfNarcissex · 09/07/2025 10:28

I'd get ones with adjustable straps, @ForeverDelayedEpiphany , and go for a style you like from the brands more associated with comfort.

The stitching on the straps of the Clark's and Timberland ones suggest no give in them.

I'd try brands like Hotter, Fly London, Gabor, Fitflops, Josef Seibel etc.

NoWomanNoBuy · 09/07/2025 10:28

If you're going for the fugly look it's generally best to go for the more trendy option. Otherwise it ends up looking, uhm, just fugly.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/07/2025 10:29

Timberland

NoWomanNoBuy · 09/07/2025 10:30

The leather on Timberland shoes will definitely give. Of course if you need extra wide then it may be a good idea to go for something that's adjustable.

Girlintheframe · 09/07/2025 10:31

I have wide feet too and find the DM Voss II and find they fit perfectly

WhatdoesitmeanKeith · 09/07/2025 10:32

I do get dressing for comfort, but please no to the Clarks ones!

The Timberland ones are a bit better.
