Well style mavens, that last thread went quickly! Let's hope we get more royal fashion to analyse. I think we need some tiara action, though.

Meanwhile, over at the house of Borbon, Leti is in separates. I really like the detail in the blouse around the collar area, and also the shape of the skirt. It lifts a monochrome outfit. Her arms, though 😍...rewear on the shoes, kitten heel slingbacks.

I like the blouse, but the neckline looks like it would be hot to wear. It’s almost like a snood and in this weather it is giving me the heebie-jeebies 😆

jaws33 · 12/07/2025 18:36

Wow she looks great. I love that top but you need those arms to do it justice.

Maybe the Zarzuela Palace has air con! I just like a little bit of origami detail, a fold, some interest. A plain white blouse and black skirt just get a little bit elevated, as they say.

Oh I love a bit of origami detail!

For me, Leti rarely gets it wrong and is my favourite royal, style wise. Apart from Max, for obvious reasons! Got to love Max!

All the ladies look very nice! Dare I say elevated?

Me too! I covet Issey Miyake and have been searching Vestiaire for a blouse I want!

Yes, that would indeed be an appropriate term!

As in Queen Maxima? You have great taste if so, I love her style.

Choux · 12/07/2025 15:46

It sooo similar to the 2023 outfit. And also a similar silhouette to the Dior outfit earlier this week. All pale.

Where’s the variety? The fun?

It is possible that this wasn’t her first choice outfit but that whatever she was planning to wear was a bad choice in the heatwave. But otherwise it’s just dull. Suitable but dull.

Edited

Oh I love that look. It's understated quiet luxury. It's all about textures and her position.

I wonder if Kate phoned William saying hi honey, top up the paddling pool, fire up the BBQ. I'm on my way home. 🚗 👙🍖

Absolutely the same for me. I'm on these threads mainly for Leti and Max.

Choux · 12/07/2025 19:14

Leti’s arms are her best accessory. Not that she can ever take them off but they catch the eye whenever she wears something sleeveless. I would love to know her diet and exercise regime. I suspect it doesn’t include eating two magnums while complaining it’s too hot to move like I have done today!

Ah, we are kindred spirits. Max just totally rocks it and enjoys fashion so much! I want to see her in the Stuart tiara again. That is serious bling.

There is definitely self discipline and rigour there!

@Maireas Well, women's bodies change. For all sorts of reasons.
I joined this thread because, unlike most people whose clothes feature regularly in the media, the royals aren't all young, slim and good-looking - and that's why it's interesting to see what they choose and how well it works - or doesn't - and to compare different approaches.

Maireas · 12/07/2025 19:38

Thanks, @Cassiope , that's what this thread is all about, really. We just enjoy the fashion and there are women whose style we appreciate who are all shapes, sizes and ages.
This thread has been going for years and I think it's really important to keep it positive and civil, and about fashion and style, good humoured and interesting, and I'm really glad you've joined us 😊

Don get me wrong, I like the neckline. I think a neckline like that is particularly flattering if you have a long elegant neck. It’s just with a sleeveless top in this weather, it’s giving me major over heating vibes 😆

Cassiope · 12/07/2025 19:46

@Choux
The top half of Kate's outfits is nearly always fitted or tailored. Smart, sometimes elegant, but it contributes to a general impression of conservatism. As does the lack of variety.

My wish for tomorrow, therefore, is that she chooses a different, looser, less structured top half.

I know what you mean ☺️. I think when you feel hot, seeing certain clothes makes you hotter!
I had to go to Marks foodhall yesterday just to cool down and I saw a woman with a fleece top on! I felt faint.

That's a good observation. She had a lovely chartreuse Stella McCartney trouser suit on recently, which I thought was a great look, and I was thinking it's the only time she has a looser top, when she's wearing trousers?
Somebody may have spotted a dress as you describe, though.
