Well style mavens, that last thread went quickly! Let's hope we get more royal fashion to analyse. I think we need some tiara action, though.

Maybe because you can't see her arms? It's quite floaty and very elegant when she's walking into the banquet hall.

Yes probably. I do wonder if that banqueting hall is rather cold!

Sidebeforeself · 08/07/2025 21:09

I think Kate should have had her hair up

I feel very mean thought as I haven’t liked any of her outfits for a while ( I promise I’m criticising the clothes not the person!)

I can just see Birgitte in the background, in white. I think she's wearing the Gloucester honeysuckle tiara? I could be wrong. Need a close up.

Her turquoise parure, from the look of it. Lovely dress.

I suspect Kate has a scar from a port. She never exposes much of her neck/clavicle area these days.

What's with your suspicions? This isn't the kind of thread or topic for this.

Maireas · 08/07/2025 21:11

KiIIingMeDeftly · 08/07/2025 21:07

Her jewellery appears to be turquoise?

Oh yes, thank you. Her dress is lovely, such a good fit.
Anne also in white with her festoon tiara.

Nice to see Brigitte with the Order of the Garter. And Tim Lawrence, Edward and Charles in the Windsor uniform - though they have ditched the knee breaches that were traditionally worn with it (sensible!)

What's your take on the flowers, @Cassiope ?

Anne’s gown is the one she wore in her 70th birthday photoshoot so whilst not new it’s nowhere near as old as some of the outfits she wears. All the royals bar Kate in white is so dull.

It’s white and capes night!

It's the same hair style she had earlier. I suspect she didn't have time to change it so chose something that would work all day. I like her dress this evening but felt the suit earlier was rather pale, I'm also not a fan of jackets and floaty skirts but the self portrait dress grew on me so maybe this one will as well.

Maireas · 08/07/2025 21:14

Yes, I'm glad that the chaps have ditched the knee breeches...wise.

Also, I note all the royal ladies pictured are wearing Charles family order.

"nowhere near as old as some of the outfits she wears" that made me laugh, because it's so true! 😂
Not bought from Susan Small in 1973!

Catherine’s dress really comes to life when she’s moving — the way it flows and shows off her arms makes all the difference. I adore her clutch. The Givenchy/Sarah Burton combination is such a fitting nod to both French and British fashion — very Catherine.

Camilla looks stunning in white. The simplicity of the gown allows the jewellery to take centre stage. And Brigitte looks lovely in that deep blue — the cloak-style drape and the shoulder detailing are both really elegant.

I usually think Sophie suits white, but the cut and fit of this dress are all wrong. It reminds me of my Nobody’s Child dress — too puffy in the sleeves and too short for formal attire.

Absolutely love Anne’s dress and bolero — so chic.

Yes, Kate's dress looks better with the movement. It's a strong contrast to all the white.

Here they are

That’s some photo of William and Catherine, very regal and yet very intimate.

But you have to bling up the shoulders when your fellow ladies are all tiara’d and you don’t have one!!!

The thing is that when I first saw the blinged up shoulders my first thought was Star Trek, Officers' dinner aboard the Enterprise

ScratCat · 08/07/2025 21:22

Anne looks great!

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 08/07/2025 21:22

From the Daily Mail on the flower arrangements:

Hand-picked, seasonal flowers, including roses and herbs from the gardens at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, as well as flowers and lavender from The Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park, are arranged in silver-gilt centrepieces taken from the Grand Service.

Lunde · 08/07/2025 21:23

Choux · 08/07/2025 20:56

Anne, Sophie and Birgitte all in white. Sophie’s is practically a day dress in my opinion.

Not sure about Sophie - the sleeves look much to big whereas the gown seems too short.

PurplebeadedFendi · 08/07/2025 21:25

Maireas · 08/07/2025 20:49

Tricolor!
Cams in classic white with the sapphires, very elegant. Brigitte Macron's dress is a beautiful strong blue and I love the silhouette - more caped sleeves! I don't like the detail on the shoulders, though.

The shoulder detail on Mrs M's dress is quite odd, imo. Gives it an odd military look. She'd have been better off with a blingy embellishment on one shoulder traveling down the bodice if she wanted to compete with the tiaras.

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 08/07/2025 21:26

If I were the President's Wife I think I'd buy myself a tiara. It's not that expensive to get a basic one...

PurplebeadedFendi · 08/07/2025 21:26

X post with @Lunde ! That's exactly right, it's very Star Trek! 😂

I love the idea of a ‘basic tiara’! 👑

I’m a bit worried about this cocktail they are serving called “L’Entente”. It has gin and pastis. They will all be on the floor 😱
