Well style mavens, that last thread went quickly! Let's hope we get more royal fashion to analyse. I think we need some tiara action, though.

And he's hardly got the same challenges with his physique that say, Albert has.

PoppySeedBagelRedux · 07/07/2025 13:47

Well… I was recently in a gentleman’s tailor in London and two suits were pointed out to me as being made for the king of Denmark. I can’t say whether Fred’s tight suit is one of those, as I didn’t look as closely as i should have done.

eggandonion · 07/07/2025 13:51

I feel there is more to this story!

Fred might have in his head that :“I take a XX size suit” because he always has, and is resisting accepting that even for men, our shapes change as we age? He wouldn’t be the first person I know, male or female, to struggle with that!😀

Fred has a bol as we call it in Wales. Maybe won't accept his bach paunch.

RitaIncognita · 07/07/2025 14:23

Again, King Felipe's tailor comes to mind. Of course, Felipe's tailor is helped considerably by Felipe's physique.

smilesy · 07/07/2025 15:28

Fred is at Wimbledon today, but I’ve only seen him sitting down. His jacket looks a better fit. Sophie, Carole Middleton and Birgitte Gloucester are also there, but I’ve only seen photos of them sitting down. Carole has an orangey striped shirt dress and both Sophie and Birgitte are wearing cream blazers. Birgitte is immaculately groomed as ever

Gonegrey31 · 07/07/2025 15:55

Carole’s dress is by Beulah and she’s wearing it without the self fabric belt which makes it look less fitted than it should . It’s a toffee brown stripe colour . ( I have it !)

NewAgeNewMe · 07/07/2025 16:20

Sophie was at the 7/7 service earlier today as well.

Maireas · 07/07/2025 17:52

Yes, I've just seen Fred in the royal box watching Andreeva v Navarro.

It’s a nice dress - but I prefer it with the belt.

I was at an event over the weekend when one attendee was wearing a similar toffee/cream striped dress. Given this and Kate’s similar striped Ralph Lauren shirt last week it’s clearly bang on trend!

ScratCat · 07/07/2025 19:37

Not keen on Carole’s dress. It does nothing for her.

Agreed. Her husband looks very dapper though.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 07/07/2025 20:24

This is a fun dress on Elisabeth of Belgium. I like the ombre ice cream colours!

That's a great dress - it gives such happy, summery vibes.

DisforDarkChocolate · 07/07/2025 21:10

It's so nice to see one of the Queens to be in something fun.

eggandonion · 07/07/2025 22:59

I wonder which of the older royal ladies are Carol's mates? I really like the way the family is included.
The weather looks great for the tennis this year?

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 08/07/2025 09:04

Why on earth wouldn't Mary just say, 'sort yourself out Dear, the jackets are looking sloppy.'

Maybe he's the sort of man to protest with, 'I'm the King, you can't make me!'

Yes the one he wore to Wimbledon is better but that probably because it's not buttoned up.

Felipe's tailor definitely has the easiest job. As always, the slimmer and better proportioned you are the easier it is to dress/be dressed.

It's almost State Visit time and I really, really hope they make use of this visit to allow Catherine a new tiara. It would be very fitting at this point.

I saw a post just now talking about which ones might be appropriate and I thought one of them was a great suggestion: Princess Margaret's Persian Turquoise tiara. I think it would look beautiful on the PoW as turquoise looks wonderful against dark hair. But then I realised it'll have been inherited by Margaret's children, unless Margaret made a gift of it to QEII or to The Crown, so that's not very likely.

I'm trying to think of impressive tiaras that haven't been worn yet but other than the Big Ones we all already know, I can't bring any to mind. A surprise would be great; perhaps they'll dig out a lesser known one.

gingercat02 · 08/07/2025 10:01

Queen Elizabeth II's forgotten tiaras Kate Middleton could be set to inherit | HELLO! https://share.google/MiGDCOu5hZ9UmszVG

What about the first one of these? It's huge!

Although it might be a bit too bling for Kate she does tend to be more subtle

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 08/07/2025 10:09

Yes that's one of the big ones we already know and like you my instinct is that it's just a bit too big for Catherine. Especially as PoW. Maybe she'll gravitate toward bigger ones once she's in the Top Spot, to match her status.

It's more that I think some of these are still too connected to QEII which is why it's better for Camilla to wear them as she is Queen. I'd like to see something bigger but somehow more dainty, and also lesser known. I think that would suit Catherine's personality better.

smilesy · 08/07/2025 10:55

It’s not just almost State Visit time, the Macrons will be here any moment now!!

themessygarden · 08/07/2025 12:05

Loving Catherine’s outfit, the colour is so unique. I read it’s Dior. She looks amazing, I think she could have done without the hat though.

Sidebeforeself · 08/07/2025 12:09

Oh I dont like it! And I so wanted to as I haven’t been keen on any of her outfits lately.I think the colour is inspired, her hat looks too small and I hate that mismatch style between jacket/bodice and skirt that she seems to wear a lot lately.

IDareSay · 08/07/2025 12:22

I love the outfit but hoping for more pics to be sure!
