Well I've joined the waitlist for Anthropologie, Neom and Fenwick. I'm not actually that enamoured with Fenwick though. I do think my heart wants Diptique though and I dither every time.

One way or another, I've learned my lesson not to buy The White Company again. I should have listened to you guys last year

I asked Chat GPT what is mumsnet members favourite beauty AC brand from the last 5 years. With the caveat it won't be totally accurate because context of comments is everything, it gave me top 4.

@Housewife2010 that wasn’t too bad as a summary from ChatGPT. Though failed to pick up further lux brands in Harrods eg Valmont, and to distinguish between actual full size and available to purchase travel sizes.

Been looking further at Harrods - I think 5 different travel size moisturisers all from prestige brands or the prestige product in the brand (Shiseido?). I actually do like that - good way to try the top end moisturisers and I’m happy that 15ml is enough to get a good idea of the product. Not entirely convinced on the rest yet though

@AprilLady agree it's a good way to try them although my fear is that I might love a moisturiser that is nearly £700 full size. I could never justify that so it might forever be 'the one that got away'. 😂

That's why I keep going back to Harrods. I like the idea of sampling luxury products that I could never afford to buy and definitely not without trying first. I have already tried the la mer moisturiser and bader oil and liked them both. I wish I could swap the bader oil for the eye cream that's in the liberty box 😕 I did want a full size night cream but I might be able to get one in a cheaper box. One of the reasons why I said no to harrods straight away as it didn't have some of my faves in like Dr barbara sturm, eve lom, bioeffect, Charlotte tilbury, decree - but it does give me a chance to try new brands. I'm still going to wait for spacenk, HN, vogue, sephora, cult beauty, but I think I'm going to end up with the Harrods one 🤣

I've just checked my order history and I ordered JL advent on 3rd Oct 24 .

And if there’s a space for using one off luxury products, Christmas is probably it, which is why these sell so well, who doesn’t need an expensive perfume and moisturiser after one too many plates of this or that…

Well I’ve ended up ordering the Harrods calendar. I was very torn as I had the Liberty calendar last year and it was such a treat but as a Beauty Drop subscriber I felt there was a bit of an overlap on products and the make up offerings wouldn’t suit my colourings.

Definitely up for product swaps once everyone has opened up.

I thought JL was really good for the price last year and had I not got Harrods then it would have been my second choice. They don’t release it until the beginning of October though so it is one of the last to reveal contents.

I was looking at this last night trying to work out what some of the products are. Is some of it bath/body stuff?

I have just watched the Harrods unboxing and agree that it does look a better unboxed than from just reading the description of products.
I think I am going to wait and see what the others offer though as not wowed enough to purchase it just yet.

I can't bring myself to buy any until I've seen SpaceNK. I regret not buying it last year so don't want to jump the gun on something else. I seem to remember last year once SNK and Sephora were out they all the big ones started to sell out fairly quickly so I don't want to dither too much either. I think I need to have chosen by early Sept probably.

Yes I remember Harrods going really quickly last year, I think it had sold out before the end of September, but it was a lot better last year.
Didn’t Space NK go really quickly too?
I know there were no great discounts of any advents last year as everything sold out fast.

I was all ready to send my DH the link to Harrods as soon as it was released as a hint for a birthday present idea, but it just hasn’t wowed me enough so I feel I need to see what the others have to offer. I did order the fragrance calendar though.

Does anyone ever change the order of products in their advent calendar? 🤣 I've never done it, but if I did get the Harrods one, I'd definitely want to make at least one change.

@pinkchampagne1 I bought the Harrod fragrance too so I won't be too aggrieved if i miss the Harrods Beauty. I don't think it is quite as good as last year but it will still sell out at some point.

Having bought the fragrance one I want to avoid ending up with more than one 200+ beauty calendar so want to make a good choice. I may buy something like LF in addition, dependant on contents. The Elemis cream last year made that a good buy overall.

I can see the appeal but it depends if you want to join the live unboxing threads here. To do that you need to keep the order correct or risk the wrath of MNetters having a future door spoiled. A few people do buy without looking or get a relative to purchase for the surprise.

@pinkchampagne1 yes, the Harrods one went early, my mum ordered it mid Oct in 2023 and I remember us talking about if she'd left it til then last year that she would've missed out. I hope we get some news on others today, I feel I'm going to burst with excitement! I can't take this waiting! 🤣
