Such a bad look to specifically state one date and time then go against it a day or so later. They’d have been better saying ‘coming soon, keep a look out on the app’.

We need someone on this thread to pop into Harrods and report back on the brawls 😆

Can anyone remember if Jarrolds did one last year? They stock some great brands and I would love to support my local independent shop, if they do and if I can afford it!

@TragicMuse Yes, Jarrolds did a 12 day calendar. It was one of the nicest calendars I’ve ever had - it was full of a lovely mix of perfumes and skincare products thst Is never tried before. it’s at the very top of my list of calendars to look out for this year.

Unless they manage to cock up the online orders again, I don’t think I could face it again after last year 😆😆. I think it’s really bad that they haven’t kept some stock for the website today, and I’m so grateful to this thread because I probably would have missed out because the app on my phone still isn’t working and wouldn’t load the home page. I downloaded the app onto my iPad and was able to order.

I've never heard of Jarrolds, are they in the UK?

I went to look on the Harrods website and it just kept crashing.

Last year Selfridges had 38 products, I wonder if this is it? Downgraded to 25?

Selfridges is a no from me- some amazing products but way too many lash products for my taste. And does anyone know what a Beauty concierge card is? Does it give you a treatment or makeover or is it a personal shopping experience?

I was thinking it was a posh way to say gift card 🤣 I've no idea. It's not 'luxury' enough for me to spend all that on it.

I’ve ruled Selfridges out as well. I remember someone getting the French Pharmacy calendar last year and I thought that looked really interesting, so I’m waiting for details of what’s in it thjs year. I’m probably expecting too much to have a calendar with lots of skin creams and fragrances, a bit of hair care, but no make up or cleansers 😆

Not impressed with any of the offerings so far this year, (but I am sure I will crack at some point). Still working my way through my stash from ages back plus the teeny tiny offerings that were in the Shiseido calendar. I would have been very miffed if I had paid full price for that one.

Last year the RITUALS outlet shops had loads of the previous year’s a/c but I haven’t been able to find any this year. Shame, as my favourite calendar last year was my bargain Rituals one.

Ooo me too. I'm drowning in cleansers and black eyeliner. I want some rich moisturisers, interesting fragrances and haircare (that isn't a PK elasticiser).

I'm after one with a nice night cream in, ideally bigger than deluxe size. I do like a good mix, but I also avoid olaplex so any with that in is a straight no. I've just gone back through the Harrods beauty one and there's 5 make up and 1 haircare items that I won't use. As I only get one calendar, I'd prefer to get one where I'll use everything but I've got a feeling I'll end up buying the Harrods one for the eye Complex, moisturisers and serums 🤣 For people that sell stuff from them, how do you price them?

I bet they’re going to get a lot of angry customers complaining. It wouldn’t be advent calendar season without a cock up from Harrods. The year before last they sent out the beauty calendars with a missing conditioner, and they made be return the whole calendar and reorder it just to get the Conditioner! It must be an annual nightmare for their poor customer service staff.

I check how much they are selling for and list it few ££ less just to get rid 😊

Spectacular PR fail for Harrods on one of their most sought after items. To advertise a launch date on Instagram, countdown timer and all, and then release and sell out a day early is astonishingly bad PR. Based on previous years they must have expected they would sell out within the day.

Harrods were allowing global orders this year, including on fragrance advent.

I enjoyed HN fragrance last year most. Maybe pentagons

I got the conditioner but was missing the eyeshadow stick, they refunded me £25 for it.

People are (rightly) angry on the Harrods beauty insta page, it's really bad that they haven't held some back for a website launch today. I don't think they should've released a date and time if they weren't going to stick to it 😕

I suppose they meant launch in store in the 5th, but they didn’t communicate that!

I agree Harrods marketing/PR team all need sacking . What was the point of creating hype around a day and time and then release and sell out the day before . You couldn’t make it up. I was lucky to get one yesterday thanks to mumsnet otherwise it wouldn’t have crossed my mind they would release early
But let’s face it it’s not Xmas without a Harrods cock up and none of us have actually got an advent yet so there is still room for more 😂

🤣 And with the fragrance one, they have the gold rose in the picture and then the dorode in the description. They're doing well so far 😂

The problem with Harrods is the calendars are targeted to average joe, most of their regular clientele are buying calendars for thousands. This then causes the bad customer service because they aren't putting the same effort in
