My heels could tear the sheets

Only a slight exaggeration.

I've been having baths not showers recently which always make my feet worse. I'm also overweight which I know doesnt help and I get dry skin.

I file them reguparly. I used to use that grey sponge/brick that came in a green box but they don't sell that anymore so I use a similar thing but you use it dry. I moisturise every night and on mornings when I can.

I did try just moisturising and no filing for a while but that just left me with cracked heels.

Even when they feel lovely and soft they look white and dry.

Any suggestions?

Vaseline on your heels with socks on

daisyonadolphin · 10/06/2025 20:31

See a beautician to smooth and remove dry skin.

Lighttodark · 10/06/2025 20:33

Flexitol heel balm

minipie · 10/06/2025 20:39

Footner

MakemineaGandT · 10/06/2025 20:41

Flexitol with socks over the top when you go to bed at night

Flexitol heel balm

This! I put a bit on every morning after a shower and have heels that I'm actually proud of now!

Works best of you put socks on afterwards. Don't walk across shiny floors barefoot as you'll slip over!!

This got my feet to the point the podiatrist couldn’t remove any hard skin as I had none and I never have cracked heels

microplane foot file, on dry feet. Go gently, it’s easy to overdo it and make them sore
soap in the shower as usual but twice a week use a body scrub on them
every single night I use a urea based foot cream (usually ccs brand from Amazon) and if I can leave socks over the top

BatFeminist · 10/06/2025 20:46

I thought this was going to be about stilettos

Scholl cracked heel balm - the one in a stick is brilliant. Only thing that’s properly sorted my heels

Mydadsbirthday · 10/06/2025 21:07

See a chiropodist

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 10/06/2025 21:11

Foot health professional or podiatrist will sort thisout. Any amount of rubbing or filing will only be a temporary measure. You cannot get the best results by diy.

lyinginthebathpondering · 10/06/2025 21:13

You need a footner peel!!!

BCBird · 10/06/2025 21:15

Think creams with a high proportion of urea are supposed to be good. I did tear my sheets the once with my Brillo pad heels😆

Dolamroth · 10/06/2025 21:17

You need a 20 or 25% urea cream

BlueRaincoat1 · 10/06/2025 21:18

I had dreadful heels and toes and have been using this, and it so good. Put on loads, and then socks. You'll see an improvement in a couple of days, and stick with it. I've been so impressed.

See a (registered) chiropodist.

Looking after your feet is money well spent.

MaryGreenhill · 10/06/2025 21:32

Stop filing put Flexitol 10% urea on wear socks every night for three weeks they will miraculously heal

Tiredtweenmum · 10/06/2025 21:37

I have thick rough skin and I use the foot peel masks. They work really well

2011j · 10/06/2025 21:41

I bet you've got athlete's foot. That would account for them being white and dry even after filing etc

BellissimoGecko · 10/06/2025 21:56

See a podiatrist. They will do much better treatments than a beautician.

parfaitamour · 10/06/2025 22:20

Big cheap tub of unrefined shea butter (organic) off of Amazon or where ever. Slap that stuff on lips, elbows, under the eyes, all over your face, the skin drinks it up.

Kamek · 10/06/2025 22:22

The Plantifique foot peel socks are fantastic and I've found them to be better for hard skin removal than footner.

NeedForSpeed · 10/06/2025 22:22

I'm using Flexitol. My MIL bought it for me after she heard me complaining about my cheese grater heels the other day. 2 days in and it's amazing! Not cured but a significant difference.

RUSTPROOF Foot File Callus... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MRXFJ40?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This!! I used it a few times and my heels are so soft now.
