Ridiculously comfortable black shoes

Neither stylish nor beautiful I suspect - starting a new job soon which will involve wearing a uniform trousers/skirt and I have to wear black shoes (absolutely no trainers or crocs). There'll be a lot of standing and walking around.

Any suggestions?

For conferences and all day events I wear Geox girl's school shoes. Leather, no VAT and they go up to size 39 so you don't need super tiny feet.

I have wide feet, bunions, long claw toes. I only wear Hotter.

nocoolnamesleft · 02/06/2025 15:16

Clarks unloop. By far the comfiest I’ve found.

I used to work in retail so in my feet all day, winters were spent wearing DMs but in the summer I wore Crocs Brooklyn Ballet Flats and they were an absolute treat for my feet. They have the Crocs comfort but look like a ballet flat. I bought a pair recently to go with the dresses I wear for my office job and have had no end of compliments about them. They're twice the price they used to be, though.

I wonder why companies ban trainers. I swear that smart black trainers are smarter than some of the ugly so-called smart, comfortable shoes that are around.

I wear Hotter all the time. I think they are very good value and not expensive in the least. They last forever. Their sales are great too.

Depends on your privilege I guess - I’m a single Mum on minimum wage so I consider them a bit pricey for my budget if not in the sale.

I did say Hotter seem to last well though (and better then Ecco which are comfortable too and a similar price point but don’t seem to last as long in my experience plus they don’t have such a variety of width fittings and half sizes).

StScholastica · 02/06/2025 21:13

ECCO are much better quality than Hotter, I've had mine for 5 years and they still look new. Worn in health care setting.
Mind you they do tend to cost more than Hotter.

Interesting- they (and the website) look a bit like Naturaliser brand

I collect Clarks Funny Dream.shoes....

Ooh me too! What's your favourite pair? What's on your wish list?

I love Vivaia ballet flats - they're machine washable too. They come in lots of different tie shapes. My favourite is the square toed Margot Mary Jane. I also love the round toe Claire.

£130 for plastic shoes, not a chance I’d be paying that.

Each to their own. I embrace the clumpy Toast vibe 😄

I confess that I do enjoy the comfort of a performance sandal. These are my latest 🤣

Comfy and the colour description is acurate. My last pair were yellow and there were similar gold toned ones.

thedevilinablackdress · 03/06/2025 10:46

That website is a treasure trove of comfy shoes @Denimrules !!

I'm a size 6, @Upcyled my favourites are a pair of dark green suedes with lilac laces..I'd like the leopard print pair! I have ridiculous wide feet and they actually fit me.. I always like the lighter colours but the problem is I am clumsy and messy and they'd not stay light. Lighter ones tend to be in suede.

I'd wear these
https://www.camper.com/en_GB/women/shoes/runner/camper-runner_up-K200508-042

Or these (bit marmite, not to all tastes)
https://www.clarks.com/en-gb/funny-dream/20306639-p

Both very comfortable IME

The Clarks ones were all the rage in the 80s at school - we used to call them banana boots 🙄
Those and Clarks polyvelts were very popular.

I did buy a pair of these when I needed to wear a uniform and they are undeniably comfortable

AndImBrit · 03/06/2025 16:32

Look into barefoot shoes… they’re foot shaped so inherently comfortable. I have a pair of begreater ankle boots that I live in in winter, and looking to now invest in some Shapen Peony’s for wearing in summer.

LucyLoo1972 · 03/06/2025 16:33

I have a pair of Mary Jane Walkers from Vivaia.

They may be entirely the wrong kind of shoe as they are very dainty but they are ridiculously comfortable.

typicaltuesdaynight · 03/06/2025 16:37

Clark’s funny dream are the most comfy shoes i own . I bought mine of vinted

LucyLoo1972 · 03/06/2025 16:48

I thought the price for vivaia was extreme but got them about half price in the sale.

they are by far most. comfortable shoes I ever add.
