Are these shoes nice or awful

I've ditched almost all of my heels since covid and live in trainers or birkenstocks.

I ordered these the other day and can't decide if I love them or hate them. Are they really out of fashion, they seem pretty comfortable.

Hard to say. I think the shape of the sole and heel is slightly wrong somehow, especially in proportion to the size of the strap. But they’d be worth trying on to see which side of the cool/frumpy line they fall. I’d be interested to know what they’re like to walk in.

I agree, the proportion of a bit off, are they comfy? I would wear them saying that.

dontcomeatme · 01/06/2025 14:29

I like that type of style but think the sole is far too thick on those ones x

I had similar in the 70s from Sacha.
Couldn't wear them now.. but still like them.

I loved Sacha shoes. I used to buy the low wedge sandals.

As far as I know, Sasha went bust because apparently the owner gambled everything away. My friend came across him as she worked in a London casino. Jasmine Lennard is his daughter. She used to be on a number of TV programmes.

I'm a Fitflop fan and I love those!

Me too!

This 😂

×3
They're horrid.

WhoAteTheLastBrownie · 01/06/2025 15:13

I like them, they have a nice 70s vibe and if they're fitflops they're bound to be comfortable.

DisabledDemon · 01/06/2025 16:59

I like them. They wouldn't suit me but if my feet would bear them, I'd wear them.

Sesma · 01/06/2025 17:05

I wouldn't wear them because I'm old and wore similar in the 70s, they are ok though

Cunninghamsarah · 01/06/2025 17:07

I love them! I really like that cool, 1970’s vibe. A classic. Enjoy wearing them OP.

RedBeech · 01/06/2025 17:14

I love them. Great 70s vibe. I love 70s fashion.

Barney16 · 02/06/2025 10:42

I love an ugly clunky shoe and have been thinking about buying these but am torn between them and the UGG platform which is proper fugly. I have this vague idea that fit flops would be very comfy ?

BunnyLake · 02/06/2025 16:42

I like them. They remind me very much of a pair cork sandals I had as a teen in the mid-70s. I’d buy them even at my age (early 60s) as long as they were comfy.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 02/06/2025 16:44

I think they could be really quite nice!! Are they comfortable?

The proportions look a tiny bit off (imo) but that won't be noticeable when they're actually worn.

Edit: the longer I look at them, the more I like them. 😅

bubblesformiles · 27/05/2025 19:40

We used to wear things like this in the 1970s. Bloody uncomfortable.

I loved mine. They had yellow straps though. I wore (or probably toddled) on them a lot (I was 15). I don’t remember them being uncomfortable but I was at an age when style meant pain. 😬

BunnyLake · 02/06/2025 16:48

Oh and as long as they’re light. I have a real aversion for shoes that are weighty. Even clunky ones can be light. First thing I ever do when looking for shoes is check their lightness. If I can feel their weight they go back on the shelf untried.

tartyflette · 02/06/2025 20:50

I hve a pair of these but without the back strap.
They are not at all heavy.
Thry are surprisingly comfortable, stable and easy to walk in.
Mine are a pretty lilac blue and flattering to the feet, (the style actually makes my feet look quite delicate, in contrast) especially with painted toenails.

tartyflette · 02/06/2025 20:54

Actually, mine have two suede bands going across the foot, one just over the tops of the toes and the other over the foot arch. (Which is why they don't need the back strap, I suppose.)
But the basic shape is the same. They look less clumpy when they're on.

Lighteningstrikes · 02/06/2025 21:02

I like them.
You won’t get shoes more comfortable than Fitflops.

Growlybear83 · 02/06/2025 21:11

I’ve no idea if they are fashionable or not, and really wouldn’t care. I think they’re ok, and might consider wearing them in a nice bright colour, but I couldn’t imagine spending £125 on sandals like that.

Cheffymcchef · 02/06/2025 21:13

The toe part can be very tight as it’s non adjustable. They are also very heavy😬

Xmasxrackers · 06/06/2025 20:33

I like em! Lovely loose trousers would go well

Sallyssn · 07/06/2025 06:30
