Yes sure, I haven’t done one in a while! Send your requests in and I’ll do my best to find them for you/ answer your questions

frillseeking · 22/04/2025 18:46

Didn’t tag me @horizoneras you had the wrong username but I saw your post pop up anyway 😀

JMAngel1 · 22/04/2025 19:30

@frillseeking I’m looking for some really flat and delicate looking trainers. Something like Onutsuka Tiger Mexico 66s or Adidas Tokyo Originals but even more pointed/ delicate looking. I’ve tried both of these on and the toes are still too square looking for me. I used to have Puma Speedcats from the 2000s which were perfect but the version now are not pointed enough and make my feet look like they’re in canoes. So if you please know of a similar style to these, I would be very grateful.

frillseeking · 22/04/2025 19:50

@JMAngel1a few options that might work. I love the pale blue suede Reformation style (other colours also available.) When I had a look online, even the styles that are advertised as slim fit have a very rounded toe so I can see why they’re hard to find!

Thank you! I will check these out.

CharlesPetrescu · 23/04/2025 05:41

Thanks for the thread. Could you recommend a natural fibre fit and flare Summer midi dress? I am 5'3 and an inverted triangle.

Summerhillsquare · 23/04/2025 07:14

Oh wonderful, thanks @frillseeking

I have a big birthday coming up in the summer, would love an outfit suitable for posh seaside escapes 😁 I am fairly short sz 12 and one of the MJ crew so flabby bits to cover but good shoulders and legs. I think I'm a light summer colour?!

frillseeking · 23/04/2025 13:22

@CharlesPetrescuI love this simple white cotton style from M&S. It comes in petite length also and the skirt has a lovely fullness which will give you balance to your bottom half

Any chance of suggesting a party dress for a nearly 50 year old who will be hitting Ibiza (for the first time ever) in July? Size 12 large chest and tummy but would love something special to go out in..

Thank you for that. It's lovely and the colour is perfect for Summer too.

frillseeking · 25/04/2025 13:39

@gingerperilwhat kind of vibe are you thinking? I love something like this Rixo dress if you’re thinking boho Ibiza vibes

@gingerperilfor something more wow and full on glam (if that’s your vibe), this Self Portrait dress is a stunner. Love the ruching for the tummy area and the colour is the colour of the season.

Thank you so much!! Love both.. especially the first. have no idea re vibe as it’s not been before and it’s slightly out of my comfort zone.. just hate feeling I am wearing the wrong thing 🙏

frillseeking · 26/04/2025 18:04

@gingerperilI’d wear the first one with some chunky gold sandals and some jewellery, love that kind of vibe and anything goes in Ibiza!

horizoner · 28/04/2025 18:14

Thanks so much @frillseekingI’m going away with friends for a girls weekend and need some chic daytime outfits, any suggestions? 🙏🏻

@horizonerthese are some of my current favourite pieces. Holiday daywear has become really elevated in the last few years so all of the shops are cashing in on this market and have really upped their game.

Hi @frillseeking dan you give me some pointers on how to wear summer dresses in the uk this year? I’m aware that denim jackets and trainers is not how it’s done these days, but have no idea what else to do!

Blarn · 28/04/2025 19:29

JMAngel1 · 22/04/2025 19:58

Thank you! I will check these out.

Can I alo suggest you check Adidas Nizzas. Very neat.

I love these threads and @frillseeking !

@WateryBottleyou can absolutely wear a denim jacket and trainers. It’s a timeless look that doesn’t ever date. But if you want to update the look for this year, why not swap the trainers for a pair of sandals? There are lots of gorgeous, minimal styles on the market like these ones from New Look. Or update your denim to a more on trend style if you feel you need a refresh. This M&S style is on my wish list but it’s gone viral so I’m patiently waiting for it come back into stock. A linen blazer is also a good staple that you can chuck over a dress/skirt when it gets a bit chilly- I’ve recently purchased this H&M style as it’s a good price point for a fashion piece

@frillseeking can I ask what sort of blouses suit someone with a larger bust? I am happy buying shirts in a size or two larger to wear them lose so they don't pull open over my chest but I keep seeing really nice sort of blouse/tops, a bit pouffy, smocking in places, lace panel and a high neck, that sort of thing. Will they suit me or should I just give up? Im bored of tshirts and cotton jerseys! (for reference I am a 14, 32HH and so far I have looked like 'matron by the beach' in the couple I have tried)

Hi, I am panicking already about what to wear to my son’s wedding on 24 March next year.
I dress casually most of the time and need to raise my game a lot. The mother of the bride is lovely and I’m anxious that I will look plain by comparison.
I am 5’7”, slim but for a lower tummy bulge 🙈 and just around 9 stone. I don’t have a décolletage (like brides mum). I have long brown hair and people just say I’m ‘athletic’.
With the wedding being in March the weather could be anything - from snow to sunshine.
The wedding is not at a church but somewhere that includes a wedding room, leading into a bar and then restaurant that becomes a space for the band in the evening.
Can you suggest anything for me to try between sit-ups to lose the tummy?

frillseeking · 30/04/2025 09:56

@BlarnYou can definitely wear this style of blouse, you just have to be careful with the necklines and to not add too much volume with frills and puff sleeves etc. I’ve added two blouses below to show how the right style can work for you. The tomato red blouse has a v neck opening and little button details to draw the eye downwards and elongate and open up the chest area. It’s in a soft fabric so will drape rather than cling and flares out slightly below the waist which will add shape and definition to your tummy area (I.e your top half won’t look all boob). It does have some frill detail on the sleeve but it’s minimal so won’t add volume. The white style, while lovely, has a closed neckline and big puff sleeves so the eye is immediately drawn upwards and it is smocked the whole way down which isn’t flattering on the tummy area.

I’ve also added another few styles that would work for a larger bust. Again they all have the pretty details you mention but without going OTT. The tie front blouses are very on trend at the moment and surprisingly work well with a larger bust. You could add a little vest underneath if you feel conscious but a good hack is that you can also tie the fabric around your bra strap to keep the tie nice and secure.

Thank you so much for this! The red one and the final one with the large embroidered/lace panel especially.

I loved clothes in my 20s, lost my way a bit after dc and now am enjoying planning outfits again. I might go shopping in the city centre on my lunch break tomorrow and now know what sort of tops to look at!
