Warning. M&S Sienna jeans change in size!

I know they aren’t the most stylish but I love M&S Sienna jeans. I ordered a new pair and picked them up today. I noticed that the internal label had changed and thought I’d best try them on to be sure they fit before I washed them.

Good job I did, they are notably smaller. Same size, same style, same length but a lot smaller.

I just thought I’d warn others. There is one or two reviews in the website saying the same.

The picture shows them lined up at one side and you can see the difference is noticeable.

Warning. M&S Sienna jeans change in size!

Oh no! They’re my go to. How annoying. I’m already a size bigger thanks to menopause, can’t face going up another!( Silly I know )

I know. Going from a 16 to an 18 feels like a huge leap.

Ooh - I was wondering about this. I've lost some weight and my jeans were too big. I went down to M&S with a happy heart to replace them with a size down, to find I couldnt get the size down to fasten and my legs looked like sausages 😂. I bought new ones in the same size as my old ones, assuming that the old ones were stretched out and maybe I wasn't getting any slimmer... Thanks for making me feel better!

Comefromaway · 10/04/2025 15:54

They totally changed my go to cigarette style jeans last year. I tried on every pair of jeans in the place and nothing was right. I've ended up moving to Levi's (thankfully reduced in the outlet store)

redlightgreenlight123 · 10/04/2025 16:04

I bought a pair of M&S stovepipe jeans in my usual size and I can hardly breathe. I’m shocked they are so small. Disappointed.

foreverbasil · 10/04/2025 16:38

Yes, had to go up a size but the cut is entirely different as is the quality of the fabric. After the first wear I have to wear a belt or they slide down. The size smaller can’t be pulled up over my thighs. I even took my old Siennas to the shop and asked the staff for advice. They said that they have had loads of complaints. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! They weren’t high fashion (which is why I like them) but we’re a great everyday style.

Puppupandaway · 10/04/2025 16:40

Gosh that’s a massive difference. I’ve lost a stone in weight and my size 14 Sienna jeans are getting loose, but thanks to this thread I see getting the next size down will be no good. Wonder why they’ve done this??

BlackSheepThisYear · 10/04/2025 16:41

Funny this should appear on my feed - M&S customer service has been sadly lacking for me this afternoon. Sending out very damaged clothing and then not being very helpful in sorting the issue. Very much a ‘not really our problem’ vibe to it all. I’m returning the whole order and having second thoughts about ordering my wish list. And just when I thought they’d found their style again! Grrr!

NippyNinjaCrab · 10/04/2025 16:57

Gosh same here! The 14 i have worn about 4 times and washed, they are too big now ive lost moee weight. I ordered 2 pairs of size 12, one isnr too bad but thw darker pair are so tight! Plus I ordered some things for holiday and 2 t shirts are terrible. One looks like it's been ironed with a too hot iron and it's shiny at parts and the other looks really cheap (it wasnt)
I was going to post a thread regarding their online models, i thought the poses were ridiculous and didn't show the clothes off at their best angles. Anyway I've still to try on a couple of things but I think the full order will be going back 😞

Sue1952 · 10/04/2025 17:27

I bought my usual 16 last week I’ve just lost a stone to expected them to fit nicely. What a shock there tight. I’ve kept them because I’m hoping to loose more but can’t wear them yet.

Lindolander · 10/04/2025 17:29

Have you also noticed that the finish is poor? I turned mine inside out to wash and the edges look so tatty.

ChompandaGrazia · 10/04/2025 17:41

I’ve ordered the 18. And I’ll go in tomorrow to swap them. I’m so disappointed as they were perfect. I’d sooner they’d put the price up by a couple of pounds than do this.

I noticed that. I’ve swapped to boyfriend ones. And they fit much better.

Cismyfatarse · 10/04/2025 18:53

I am a very classic 14. I now have a too big pair of 12s as the sizing is now so odd. I am still losing weight but not that much!

Oooh. I might try them when I go in tomorrow.

I’ve always found their sizing much to vanity sized. Perhaps they have reduced them to get them into line with everyone else

RollerSkateLikePeggy · 10/04/2025 19:36

Oh, gutted to hear this. Sienna are my go to as well. I'll be trying the boyfriend ones as well then 🙁

ExemplaryVegetable · 10/04/2025 19:41

I have the Eva bootcut ones and its happened with them too. The fabric also has a weird finish to it.

My Sienna jeans are the old style but I’ll definitely think twice before getting another pair!

pepperaunt · 10/04/2025 19:59

Oh no! Not the Evas! I live in mine and was contemplating a third pair in black

I agree. I’ve always bought a size smaller in M&S than other brands (for jeans & trousers), so maybe they’re becoming more in line with other brands?

Thegreenandpurpleone · 10/04/2025 20:38

Thanks for the warning OP, I live in Sienna jeans (now the’ve continued the Sophia ones, sadly). As a PP said I’d rather pay a bit more for them and keep the sizing and quality rather than them messing about with them to save money. Maybe I’ll try some boyfriend jeans next…

Oldieandgoldie · 10/04/2025 20:39

Next slim-fit high-rise/waist jeans are a very similar fit, and slightly more comfortable to wear. I always find the Sienna jeans pull down on my hips.

Wildswimmer79 · 10/04/2025 20:41

Oh yes. I'm a 14 generally on my lower half. Had to buy the 16s which was very strange when I've lost weight since the last time I bought 14s.

YourWinter · 10/04/2025 20:43

Hello Vinted and eBay… !

socks1107 · 10/04/2025 20:43

I had this and stupidly washed them before wearing. I sold them on vinted in the end they were so uncomfortable 😣.
