Wedding guest - farm rio

Hi all! Can I wear this to a summer wedding? I’m early 40s, short but never wear heals (flatforms are ok), a chubby size 12. I’m also close family and a witness. I REALLY struggle with this kind of thing - formal clothes just never seem to work for me. Any other suggestions?!
Also, what are Farm Rio like from a quality perspective?

Just wear what you want. It's certainly a happy dress.
I wore a sari to a Western wedding last year- am of Indian origin- and everyone appreciated it. It was a quiet sari: not hugely blingy, but I did stand out in the sea of floral dresses. That's fine.

I read your thread the other day and actually popped back to see if you'd bought the dress. It's fabulous so yay!

upon googling I discovered apparently it’s their “signature smell”… it’s horrendous the dress is in a different room and I can still smell it

going to air it outside tomorrow and hope for the best

apparently they spray the boxes
some must get more of a blast than others.
my last dress was normal / had no smell.

i left mine in the spare room with window wide open…it still stinks…

They don't smell in a shop! I think they are beautiful on the rails at Liberty.

I was expecting not to like it but I think it’s gorgeous and you sound fabulous. If you were my witness I’d be chuffed to bits that you’d come as yourself rather than wearing some identikit wedding guest outfit that’s not your style.
