Mine is a good/unusual collar.

Stripey tops
Oversized jumpers
Midi skirts
Gold shoes

DaphneduM · 07/03/2025 06:17

Silk - jackets, tops, shirts
Anything vaguely Italian designer - bags, blazers, coats, shoes, tops, shirts, knitwear
Cashmere - my latest obsession - cardigans, short sleeved jumpers, long sleeved jumpers
Suede - trainers, shoes and handbags,

Oh - like this?

Stories dress

Mine? Tweed, but that’s not detrimental. My compulsion to seek out and stupidly buy massively cut price The Elder Statesman knitwear, however … Hmm Good grief, the billion dollar camisole in an un-wearably bright hue; the gazillion pound cashmere shorts - I never bloody wear shorts! Why do I do this?

Funnily enough I do have two Sister Jane items with great collars!

’Old’ Topshop items

Far, far too much
Handbags .. I realistically have enough until I die.
Dresses… they are so easy, winter and summer, especially if short as you don’t get cut in half. Huge selection… often I buy second hand.
I bought myself a trench coat for the first time (at 60!) and I obsessed!.

evilharpy · 07/03/2025 08:13

Coats and jackets
Stripey long sleeved tops
Trainers
Boots from All Saints
Biker jackets (must have about 6 from All Saints and Whistles)
Leopard print

This thread makes me feel a lot better about my fashion addiction. When I read those threads where the poster says they only have 2 pairs of shoes and 1 coat, it makes me feel awful.

I have far too many lovely things that I have built up over the years. The majority has been bought at sample sales / on sale / secondhand but nevertheless, I have a LOT. Shoes, bags, coats (ooh how I love a coat!), you name it and I’m obsessed by it if it’s good quality and well made. And I love a statement piece.

FastFood · 07/03/2025 09:16

I love everything about shirts.
A man's oversized shirt, a shirt buttoned all the way up, or unbuttoned almost all the way down with a camisole underneath, a short sleeve boxy shirt etc...
I even like to iron them. It's a little time between me and my shirts.

Another one is caps. When I broke-up with my ex partner, it was very amiable except when we discussed who would keep each cap (I won and gained custody of most of them)

Cantonet · 07/03/2025 09:22

Cashmere jumpers, cardigans & scarfs in every permutation - thin, fat, lacy & in different weights for cooler or milder weather.

TheOriginalFrench · 07/03/2025 10:45

I even like to iron them.

Ironing shirts is immensely satisfying. (If done at leisure and not in a rush!)

Blazers. I don’t understand how you put an outfit together without one 🤣

And coats. I’ve got into cloaks / capes too so I’m permanently on Vinted trying to find some old smelly relic I can rescue.

Sunglasses. Can be a fiver or £400 - I love them all. And by hiding 60% of my face. I think I’m 60% more attractive.

Andnowshesatoddler · 07/03/2025 11:02

Handbags!
I need more of them haven't brought many in a couple of years but I can never get too fat for an handbag!

Agree re blazer!
It's my version of dressing it up a bit.

Happyinarcon · 07/03/2025 11:14

extra large silk scarves

ICanTellYouMissMe · 07/03/2025 11:17

Black. Anything black. Black jewellery. Different textures and materials in black. Black hair. Black eyeliner.

Basically all the black 😁

AprilF00L · 07/03/2025 11:28

Mandarin collar jackets and shirts. Don't see a lot of them though.

A shirt dress. God knows why, I always end up having to add poppers to avoid gaping between the buttons on the bust. If I buy a size up the shoulders and hips are too big, but the buttons don't strain. I can't win.

Also a fan of a sweatshirt/tshirt with some sort of slogan - not designer or "be kind" shite. Latest one is "Be glad we want equality, not revenge"

My colleagues from my very corporate straightlaced job are always surprised to see me wearing these out in the wild (Sainsbury's).

Love that quote

Checks and tartan. Specifically, Black Watch tartan.

I love BW tartan. What do you have made in it?

Overtheatlantic · 07/03/2025 11:31

Suede, especially if it’s olive coloured

Gowlett · 07/03/2025 11:32

Khaki jackets / shackets.

GreenCandleWax · 07/03/2025 11:35

Jackets. Love them. And luggage!

JustJazzy · 07/03/2025 12:29

Trainers, Dr Martens, jeans and leopard print.

EarthyMamma · 07/03/2025 12:54

Oh, Coats and Jackets!!
I have to be really firm with myself and not look at them.
Otherwise I'm lost...

I use public transport and the weather is usually so bad that I end up wearing my waterproof coats so I make sure that they are ones that I love.🥰

Dustmylemonlies · 07/03/2025 13:24

Scarves, lots and lots of scarves.

(I have hefty udders and if I'm having a self conscious day I throw a bright scarf over my tee shirt and et voila! Confidence reborn!)

Oceangrey · 07/03/2025 13:33

So many shirt dresses.
And gemstone/gold jewellery.

100% with you on that last point. Never seen in public without my Ray Bans.
