Just for fun (& inspiration as I’m looking for a new work bag!).

My last purchase was the ubiquitous Uniqlo bag in off white corduroy. Aside from a black leather phone bag from The White Company, this is my most used bag at the moment.

I’ve started looking into whether I can go custom for my work bag. Somewhere where I can specify colour, size, features like strap length etc. I really want to “buy well” this time. I still think there’s a place for the green Le Pliage linked to upthread though…

I'm think of getting it in the tan or the taupe. I also love the burgundy but that's more autumn/winter.

Just bought the Polene Cyme mini as my most recent bag. I use the LV Neverfull for work, sone will disagree but I think it’s a great bag!

This big Lulu Guinness waterproof tote bag from John Lewis for taking everyone swimming - £15, and it has a wee zipper purse for putting your £1 coins for the lockers in.

A small brown handbag from a leather workshop in Rome about 18 months ago. I paid about £60 for it. It smells lovely.

APATCHY Maddie maxi. Love it! Perfect sized cross body. Always being asked if it's mulberry. Beautiful soft grain leather.

Ooh! I'd forgotten about the Mosaic. I lusted after it for months in the lead up to a big birthday a couple of years ago and wondered if DH might stretch to it. He actually spent a lot more on something completely different and I managed to convince myself it wasn't suitable. But now you've reminded me again....

Proper handbag. Toteme T lock in black with gold lock. I love it. But since then also a canvas tote from Flying Tiger for £3. Which I also love in a different way.

I did actually also get an Isabel Marant belt bag in the sales which I’d been wanting for a long time but returned it because I prefer the Toteme and will use that over the belt bag.

I hadn't come across this brand until I saw your post, this bag is delightful. I adore the half moon shape - one of my favourite bags ever was a John Lewis half moon bag, and I also have Art Deco half moon furniture in my home, so this is going on the future shopping list! 🙂

@Slothlydoesit I've been looking at bags a lot recently & came across Toteme but had previously not heard of them before. What is the quality like? Is it heavy? I like the look of the bucket bag…

I don't think I have bought a bag for about 40 years (not including hessian bag-for-life type ones).

I always design and make my own, they often attract positive comments. I have been asked to make them for others but apart from one for a close friend the answer is no.

The story behind the company is great too, and I like the fact that the bags are all made in the UK in small batches. A great brand to be introduced to, thanks again 🙂
