My engagement ring arrived this morning and I'm so in love with it, can I see yours?

I haven't. It's just reverted back to my last previously used one for some reason. I was as surprised as anyone that it wasn't the one I started with. No idea.how it happened, it's even changed the op

18 years old, I still love it but the unusual shape made it difficult to find a wedding ring that fitted with it. 2 years after we married i got the eternity ring the shape of which means the engagement ring sits much better.

At the time couldn’t afford platinum so this is palladium. Picked the diamond from a diamond merchant and then had it set. Wedding ring also palladium but the little eternity ring is white gold and we bought it on our belated honeymoon!

Not my engagement ring, but one of the latest anniversary rings. Its over 100 years old.

These are mine. I've been Divorced for nearly 10 years and was married for 25, but still love the rings and have kept them for my girls. I still wear them occasionally on my other hand. My wedding band was my Nan's, so that is obviously still very special to me. It's 22 carat gold and a fully round hoop. As that is quite soft, my engagement and eternity ring are 18 caret to hold the diamonds in place securely but not be too hard rubbing against it. Funnily enough, it was the band of my engagement ring that wore thin rather than the softer ring. I had it bult back up, but the hall mark was worn away, not that that really matters unless I was selling it!

I got engaged 31st May last year. Love my ring!

Engagement ring belonged to my husband's grandma, wedding ring (the cluster) to my late mother. Love them both.

I discovered the other day that my mum's engagement ring actually sits better with my wedding ring.

A stone fell out of my original engagement ring before I was even married. It was badly repaired by the jeweller. I didn't understand my rights and accepted a replacement (but in a different style) when I really wanted a refund so that we could elsewhere. I really didn't feel the same about my engagement ring after that. My eternity ring does sit well with the wedding ring, I feel, however.

Mum died 10 years ago. I tried on her ring because it would have been her 100th birthday. Might manage to upload a photograph later.

If it makes you feel better, not everyone on the thread is happy - I was widowed 4 yrs ago - but I acknowledge that I've been lucky to have had a good man.

Its one ring, from the 1910s. The other two are new rings, one is 18ct gold the other one is 925 silver. All bought separately. I have a lot of stacking rings so I can mix and match easily😊

Engagement ring is almost 20 years old. The half eternity is pink sapphire. I have a few, different colours, as my wedding ring and engagement ring are so loose that they fall off if I shake my hand.

We were poor and young. I wanted something that I wouldn't scratch myself on. It was £150 in the sale, 18ct, princess cut diamond, and I will always treasure it

I support this statement! My initial problem was that the original wedding band I chose was so slim, it kind of merged into the band of my first engagement ring making it look like I was wearing just one ring, so last summer during our holiday for our first anniversary back to our honeymoon destination, DH completely spoiled me with my custom-made dream set. Using one of the diamonds from my original engagement ring, the melted gold from my original set and gold from my late Grandmother’s ring too (I posted my engagement ring on its own earlier in this thread) they now sit together beautifully.

I’m really sorry that you’re in such pain. My husband died last year, so I know how it feels to be alone. I’m lucky to have the good memories though. You will too one day x
