We away long haul at the moment and for the flight I bought these trousers and cardigan with a fitted white t shirt underneath and trainers.
It was really comfortable and looked great when we arrived.

They do look good but might be a bit too pricey at the moment, I definitely want to look okay when we land and not like a bag of washing

I got some lovely wide leg joggers in H&M last week . Just plain grey drawstring waist . They would work with a comfy sweatshirt or a cardigan. Not pyjama like if you wear them with trainers. £14.99

Titasaducksarse · 12/02/2025 18:18

I was going to suggest H and M too.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 12/02/2025 18:27

What weather will you be landing into?

Doggymummar · 12/02/2025 18:29

Amazon do travel clothes, they get a lot of good reviews on insta basically wide leg trousers and cardigans in non crease fabric

This is the sort of outfit I wear for long haul flights

dudsville · 12/02/2025 18:42

On my last long haul flight, I wore a column shaped denim dress. Smart, but comfy, nothing around my waist. I had a cardigan and tights for the flight but the dress was sleeveless and ready to go in the warmer climate where I landed. It's what I'll be wearing for foreseeable.

Thatsenoughadulting · 13/02/2025 07:34

I always just wear joggers/leggings and a hoodie. Usually get a new matching set for going on holiday.

JimHalpertsWife · 13/02/2025 07:41

I have some wide legged cheesecloth trousers that are so comfortable - maybe something in that material? Also handy to wear at the destination too if hot.

Could go for beige or black coloured, with a fitted tshirt and little cardigan?

RitaFromTheRanch · 13/02/2025 08:06

Thanks very much, I'll check out H&M and Amazon. It'll be hot but nighttime when we finally get there.

Are you me lol? I'm off to Australia on Monday. I've bought some tapered joggers and a matching top from M&S to fly in. I'll wear a t shirt as well. Tapered to minimise the risk of the bottoms of them touching the floor and coming into contact with other peoples bodily fluids when I use the loo on the plane.

I have these flared leggings from H&M, they are as soft as butter, a lovely shade of navy and don’t crease or show marks

I wear them with a navy hoodie or sweatshirt and a tshirt underneath. Great for a flight last year and I’ll be wearing the same again tomorrow!

I like to wear a soft jersey dress, slightly loose fitting, so comfortable for sitting in for hours. If I'm going somewhere hot, and it's cold here, I wear thermal leggings underneath, and a warm sweater on top. I peel them off as we land and stuff in my hand luggage.

Cyclistmumgrandma · 13/02/2025 09:11

Overnight flight back from South America last week. I wore leggings, t-shirt and fleece. More importantly, I wore a soft, pull on bra!

Mulledjuice · 13/02/2025 09:12

I always prefer traveling in a dress. I'd wear a long tube dress, singlet or short sleeved. (Short-sleeved if going to the middle east) With something non-crease over the top.

TheFormidableMrsC · 13/02/2025 09:16

Hush do some lovely flight friendly clothes, worth a look on there. Spendy though.

Twilightstarbright · 13/02/2025 09:21

My go to for long haul where it’ll be hot upon landing is an empire style midi/maxi dress- I like the ones with the elasticated ruching around the chest then flow out as most comfortable for long haul stomach bloating. I then put a thin thermal top underneath (Sainsbury’s or M&S) and put cotton leggings underneath. I travel in my gym trainers as they’re the bulkiest footwear I take. Thin cardigan on top. Sometimes a Uniqlo pack away ultra light down coat if it’s really cold in the UK or I’m going by public transport-
taxis to the airport I can cope without.

Very comfortable but looks nice, and as the flight progresses/before landing I take off the leggings and thermal top so I’m in the dress and cardigan.

letshavetea · 13/02/2025 09:53

I travel in a wide leg pair of cropped trousers - (elastic waist), t shirt and a cardigan. Also take a scarf (air con is cool on the plane!). For footwear it’s leather trainers. Colour combo is black and cream. Looks smart and is comfy. The trousers and t shirt work well in the hot destination on arrival.

sweetpickle2 · 13/02/2025 10:33

It always comes up on these threads but just make sure you don't go for wide legged or anything that trails on the floor- cropped or elasticated round the ankles. Plane bathroom floors are grim!

This is similar to what I wore in December for my long haul and will continue to wear, it is so comfortable. I purchased the wide leg jogger set H&M set though without the drawstring and that’s even more comfortable than the one you have ( which I also have, lol)

someone mentioned wide leg trailing on toilet floors but i literally fold mine up 3 times so it’s around my knees before entering, lol, I can’t stand the feeling or restriction of cuffed joggers as I have to wear medical grade compression socks so need something flowing/loose.

I definitely agree with another poster that said wearing a soft pull on bra, this is also what I do.

I was looking for a long jersey dress but think it's the wrong season as no one had any

I've just come back long haul and always wear a maxi dress usually jersey because it's comfortable and avoids trailing in the toilets! I also take a cashmere wrap that doubles as a blanket.
Sweaty Betty, Me and Em and Cos do a good range.
Enjoy your trip!

CharlotteCChapel · 13/02/2025 11:34

I've recently flown and in the airports, 4 of them, I only noticed one person who looked like they'd dressed up. Everyone else, male or female wore the same clothes, jeans or tracksuit bottoms, trainers, t-shirts or sweatshirts. Coats of many styles were mainly being carried.
