Can anyone recommend something comfy to wear on a very long haul flight with a 3hr stop off that will look semi decent?

Thank you, first v long haul flight and I need soft and comfy.

Jersey dress over nice stretchy leggings. Take leggings off if it’s hot when you arrive.

I was looking for a long jersey dress but think it's the wrong season as no one had any

Where are you looking?! Try White Stuff, Weird Fish, Seasalt. Pretty sure even M&S have some at the moment.

Recently travelled 24 hr flight in these black trousers, I was between sizes so went up a size for waist comfort.

With a white t shirt and thin black cotton cardigan.

Many thanks for the recommendation.. great price too. They are probably the only ones that you can get in shorter lengths. I got them in navy for a 16 hour flight to Argentina in 10 days. Very pleased with them 😊

I been watching this thread from afar, but very interested as I have a long haul (16 hour) flight coming up soon
I was going for my 'best' joggers, t-shirt and hoodie but liking the idea of a jersey dress. What are people wearing in the way of tights/leggings and shoes. I had planned to wear trainers but not sure how these would look with the dress?
Thanks

MotionofTime · 24/02/2025 14:49

For long haul flights, I always wear
Sweaty Betty 7/8 length leggings, trainers and cropped hoodie. And a non wired, fabric bralet.

Very comfy and looks casual but not like pj's or loungewear.

ERthree · 24/02/2025 16:45

Yoga pants, t shirt and cashmere cardigan but more importantly, soft top socks, big knickers and a non wired bra are essential.

MerryBerry12 · 24/02/2025 16:48

Dungarees all the way!

Gettingbysomehow · 24/02/2025 18:28

I love my Llama leggings. I've also got an oversized pink jumper on. None of these items crease. I do love loud trousers.

Long haul comfy but not PJs

I change into my very stretchy, wide legged, but warm yoga pants - and a thermal top (as I am always cold on a plane, especially a night flight. I get my Yoga Pants from Amazon as lots to choose from, and I get my thermal top from M&S. I do however take another outfit to change into if a very long flight (I fly 14hrs to my holiday destination) and don't want to arrive into a warm country having slept in my clothes for that length of time
Have an amazing holiday

@Starlight1984 we are going to Melbourne to watch the F1.

It's a big birthday present.

I’m soooooooo jealous!!!!!!

Jane958 · 25/02/2025 18:56

I am flying long-haul tomorrow and will be wearing Hobbs linen rugby trousers (elasticated waist), leather fitflops, a linen or cotton top and a jacket, cannot remember its composition, but there is definitely cotton in there, probably with cashmere.
I will also have a silk and cashmere pashmina with me. Works every time, all comfortable (and the linen trousers do not crease as some people would have you believe).
Fine for where I am departing and excellent for my destination as I will then have a 3 hour car ride, with aircon, so it will be "cool"!

SevenKingsMustDie · 01/03/2025 14:18

I'm off to Oz in April and have a fabulously soft sweatshirt for the plane that will layer up beautifully with a longline vest and long sleeved t-shirt...and leggings!

Where can I find soft, black, full length leggings that are high waisted and will NOT go see through?! I know MN is split on leggings, but I am hoping someone can help!

Azuresky68 · 01/03/2025 19:56

@JellyComb very nice. I am only 5 foot and size 8/10. What is the leg length like and are they wide fitting please?

TheChosenTwo · 01/03/2025 20:10

I always go with leggings and a loose top with a sweatshirt to take off or put on when appropriate. Means I’m warm this end and can remove the sweatshirt at the other end and be fine until I get to my destination given that when it’s hot you’re usually in air conditioned airports and transport.
But really they are just comfortable and you look tidy enough.

Are you me lol? I'm off to Australia on Monday. I've bought some tapered joggers and a matching top from M&S to fly in. I'll wear a t shirt as well. Tapered to minimise the risk of the bottoms of them touching the floor and coming into contact with other peoples bodily fluids when I use the loo on the plane.

Omg this is my biggest fear when travelling and especially when the children were small

I picked up a pair of high waisted leggings from primary recently and have to admit I am surprisingly impressed. They are much better quality than other pairs I bought from primark previously

The buttery soft leggings that are recommended on here are excellent. I can't fly in leggings as I get lots of UTIs and I'm scared they'll trigger one.

I just bought some clothes from Saint and Sofia. They are so well made but above all comfortable. It's my new favourite shop.

SevenKingsMustDie · 03/03/2025 07:43

@RitaFromTheRanch @Pe1ican and @MotionofTime thanks for the recommendations - I'll give them a try!
