Can anyone recommend something comfy to wear on a very long haul flight with a 3hr stop off that will look semi decent?

Thank you, first v long haul flight and I need soft and comfy.

I have these and they are SO comfortable and soft. Wear them all the time around the house. Not too heavy either.

Mine came up big but they're last season so hopefully they've sorted out their sizing.

Next Women's Mid Blue Side Stripe Palazzo Wide Leg Jeans

I wear a pair of these, fitted t shirt (always take a spare to change into before landing), a zip up chunky knit hoody, bright patterned shawl, pair of plain sneakers. And I take a pack light Uniqlo down jacket (I get cold in airports/airplanes).

MiddleAgedDread · 13/02/2025 12:10

I bought these for a long haul flight. So comfy and smarter than you'd expect from "joggers" . They also dry really quickly if you want to wash them for the return leg. Women's Ultra Stretch Active Joggers (Longer) | UNIQLO UK

I travel long haul quite often. Draw string pants, long sleeves shirt or light jumper preferably long on the body as I hate skin exposed when I'm sitting in a cold plane. Warm socks and trainers.

Gettingbysomehow · 13/02/2025 12:18

Llama leggings, I love the designs and I really love the joggers. Along with a smart white teashirt and a hoody for the flight because it can be quite cold on planes sometimes, or an overshirt.

I got these a while ago, really nice material and a good cinch on the waist. I hadn’t thought about River Island for years but ended up getting these in black and pink, and one of matching tops.

They are just so super comfy.

I'm always flying ultra long haul (27 hours) with short stopovers. Alternating between Business class and Economy took. And I'm going north to to southern hemispheres and vice versa so I'm often traversing hot to cold and vice versa

My go to is some buttery soft leggings and oversized floaty top I can tuck in or leave loose and a cashmere poncho with a scarf. Seriously covers all bases both off and on the plane, all temperatures and all eventualities. Cashmere is cool when warm and toasty warm when cold but scrunches up tiny into a bag.

ItalianDreaming · 13/02/2025 13:00

Recently did over 18 hours of travel in uniqlo airsim cuffed jogging bottoms and loose fitting airsim top (tucked in) with a comfy zip up over the top.

The cuffed bottoms mean the trousers didn't drop onto dirty toilet floors when I was at the loo, and airsim is super breathable, so it was very comfy and easy to sleep in, but looked OK too! Layers are great because there'll probably be a variety of temperatures across the various airports and planes. Packed comfy socks, a good quality eye mask and ear plugs for the plane too.

None of that is badly priced, either.

Lots of different styles, but all very breathable and comfy.

I've got a knit track suit from closure london (took a punt on some facebook advertising) that was about £40 and is honestly the softest thing I've ever worn. It stays perfect looking even though I wear it to lie around in mostly when I get home from work. I'm planning on wearing it to fly in to Finland at the weekend. Granted it's lovely and warm though so may not work for warmer climes.

Halara have some great options. I recently bought the high waisted straight leg casual Halara pants and they are really comfy, great for a long haul flight and come in lots of different colours.

I was looking at their midi denim skirt yesterday. Not for the flight obviously but it looked really nice.

Thanks for all the ideas. I've got a couple of pairs of cuffed joggers coming and will scour vinted for a cashmere wrap.

Do any of you wear compression socks or have I gone mad? Pretty excited about this trip and I'm driving DH mad with what I'm wearing and bringing Grin

I've just ordered a pair of these for our long haul flight next week - £17!!! Sadly the top is out of stock in black but will find something to wear with them...

Thanks @loropianalover 😊

I am going to purchase this outfit to travel long haul at the beginning of March - we land in the Caribbean, but I want to be comfy (but stylish) while on a 12 hour flight!

Flying long-haul in a couple of weeks - I'm wearing a three-piece set I bought from John Lewis (cardigan, vest and wide leg trousers). It's officially loungewear but I think definitely still suitable - although I may swap the top out for a Uniqlo built in bra vest. I'll be wearing with Converse and a big wrap/scarf that I can also use as a blanket on board.

RitaFromTheRanch · 13/02/2025 17:51

@Starlight1984 we are going to Melbourne to watch the F1.

It's a big birthday present.

Jersey print joggers (cuffed) from Next with black t shirt and zipper top/hoodie

Moorfellduck · 13/02/2025 18:32

I always do my long haul in elastic waist skirt. I've got this in navy. I find that it is perfect. https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-jersey-midi-skirt/p110247740

I find Uniqlo brilliant for this type of outfit. They do a lovely a line sleeveless shift dress that you can layer up with jumpers & tights & then take off when you've landed etc.

Done a few 12+ hour flights in the last couple of years and joggers are my go-to. Mine are from Bamboo clothing (another poster linked to the same company earlier). Something as comfy as pyjamas (to help trick your body into thinking its time to sleep) but suitable for wearing outside the house!
Definitey prefer separates rather than a dress as I like to change into a clean t-shirt (and underwear!) from my carry-on bag at the end of the flight. Doesn't need to be anything special - plain cotton t-shirt, plus comfy oversized cardigan for layering up.

NewNameBridget · 13/02/2025 22:52

I fly long haul regularly for work. My only advice (but it is good advice) is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wear either fitted bottoms (like leggings) or cuffed bottoms.

Wide leg droop onto the floor when you use the loo, and on a long haul flight that loo floor is not a good place to be.

Less crucial (because it doesn't involve urine), but still important, a pocket or two is really useful, for little things like your earphones and phone. I wore a pair of pocketless trousers yesterday (from NY to London, so not long haul, but long enough) and the number of times I mislaid my earphones between getting on, and getting off that plane was ridiculous.
