Nars blusher. Heartbroken.

I love the Nars orgasm blusher. It takes me from looking as though I've been dug up to having a bit of shimmer and colour.

I've just gone to order a new one and according to John Lewis reviews the formula has changed and in the word of one reviewer 'don't waste your money'.

Has anyone ordered one in the past few months? Has it really changed?!

If so has anyone found a decent alternative.

Hi OP- have you tried the rare beauty liquid blush? They are just gorgeous.

Happyinarcon · 12/02/2025 08:11

Everyone must have owned that blush at some point, maybe ask around your friends to see if anyone has one lurking forgotten in their makeup bag.
Yes, I would happily use someone’s secondhand powder blush before anyone comments.

There's a site called temptalia.com that lists dupes for all sorts of makeup, with swatches. It's US-based, so some of the brands might be unavailable here, but it could be useful?

I don’t care what you think. Using the word heartbroken over a blusher is ridiculous when others on here are going through so much.

Go away.

In times like this people need their pick me up as an emotional crutch.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 12/02/2025 08:17

The do Orgasm as Multiple.

Maybe try that?

Icannotremembermyusername · 12/02/2025 08:22

I used to use Nars Orgasm but found it too mmm orange rather than rosy? I have yellowish undertones so maybe it looked too garish on me. I love Bobbi Browns shimmer brick Rose but they are discontinued now! So I feel your pain when a much loved item is no longer available 😭I will say that the Sleek Nars dupe looks the same shade (yes I have that too!) but it doesn’t have the depth of colour I don’t think. So maybe go for a better brand?? Like Hourglass or Dior???? The pigmentation seems more intense?

Aftertheharvest · 12/02/2025 08:26

Agree and now relieved it's not just me. I used to have to be really careful at only applying a bit but with new formula I am trying to put on tonnes and still barely noticeable. A very dramatic change and think will look at some of the other options mentioned here.

I’ve just swapped the Vieve Balm Blush and it has a beautiful shimmer and works really well in my equally ghostly skin!

Really? Not in my circles. Heartbroken is used when relationship ended or someone has died, not for blusher!

You understand it's tongue in cheek, right?

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 12/02/2025 09:15

Yes, it was tongue in cheek. I thought 'I'm mildly disappointed that a product I've used for many years has changed to the extent it no longer seems recognisable. Whilst this won't impact my day to day life or geopolitical events it's quite hard to get to the big shops so I'd appreciate some recommendations from like minded make up users on the internet' would be a long thread title.

Loads of recommendations here, I've filled a post it note for tonight's google session. I hadn't heard of Iconic or Hourglass so thank you for the pointers there.

@Lostmyusernametoday my friend wears loads of Charlotte Tilbury and always looks fab. She does wear foundation etc though and I just whack a bit of colour on my cheeks. That might make a difference.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses, you are right but I'm a bit of a magpie.

@AlwaysTheRenegade I love the Lancôme mascara so their blush could be ideal for me.

@ThatEllie and @Kaftankween I've never used a cream blush. I've always considered it to be trickier to apply than powder. I may be behind the times though?

@oakleaffy I wish they'd explain they are trying to remove talc. I didn't know that. Unlike The Body Shop who are ruining staple products for less clear cut reasons.

@MyCatsSlave that is really kind! I will buy them off you if you want to sell them.

@Happyinarcon, me too. I don't get wound up by stuff like that! Good shout.

I'm "heartbroken"😉 that Coty discontinued Wild Musk perfume- I loved it, nothing comes close, that Bourjois stopped doing a certain blue green eye kohl pencil, that ModelsOwn brand had the audacity to close and no longer produce a chubby lip pencil in the most beautiful pink mauve shade and Cutex stopped doing a bronzer called Golden - yes Cutex the nail polish brand, now owned by Revlon.
💔💔💔💔

SparkyBlue · 12/02/2025 13:02

My sister bought me benefit Willa blusher as part of a gift and it is gorgeous. I now reach for it way more than my nars orgasm so might be worth a look as I'd never look at benefit products normally

SiobhanSharpe · 12/02/2025 14:05

Try eBay for the original formula, businesses and private sellers on there. You can set up a search for the exact product you want.
Some iteme may be older stock so you might be lucky.

TipsyBlueOtter · 12/02/2025 18:05

It was such a big seller that if you're quick you'll be able to snap up some old forumlas on 3rd party sites or Ebay, or ask your friends as pp said. Space NK used to give away the minis of Orgasm a lot. I'd bet these are old formula: www.lookfantastic.com/p/nars-blush-4.8g-various-shades/15293835/

But MAC Peachtwist is similar and worth a look.
