Nars blusher. Heartbroken.

I love the Nars orgasm blusher. It takes me from looking as though I've been dug up to having a bit of shimmer and colour.

I've just gone to order a new one and according to John Lewis reviews the formula has changed and in the word of one reviewer 'don't waste your money'.

Has anyone ordered one in the past few months? Has it really changed?!

If so has anyone found a decent alternative.

The sculpted by Aimee blushes are lovely

ThatEllie · 11/02/2025 23:45

I’ve also heard that the new formula is crap from several friends. Admittedly I don’t have firsthand experience of it because I don’t buy makeup that has bizarre sexual names (“orgasm,” “blowjob,” “quickie,” etc).

I did make the switch from powder blush to liquid recently though and found the Rare Beauty blush to be quite good. You only need a teeny dot of it; it spreads and blends beautifully.

I don’t care what you think. Using the word heartbroken over a blusher is ridiculous when others on here are going through so much.

Style. And. Beauty.

Body Shop altered their Hemp hand protector..new stuff is hopeless.

Have spent so much money trying to find a similar one, nothing else comes close.

Body shop took the bees wax out to make it 'Vegan'.

Loads of others have stopped buying from Body shop as the hemp hand protector was the best thing they made- and now they have ruined that formula.

WHY do manufacturers do this?

Pears soap did it, too.

Changed the formula.

oakleaffy · 12/02/2025 00:12

Okay...I googled, seems the blusher has changed formula to go talc free.
Worryingly, asbestos has been found in talc- hence removing it.

BitterPeach · 12/02/2025 00:23

I’ve ordered this exact blush recently and like others have said it’s nowhere near as good as the original formula :(

Hayley1256 · 12/02/2025 00:30

I'm loving PLouise and Charlotte Tilbury blouses at the minute.

I'm going through shit right now but this is style and beauty.
Your objection to the word heartbroken isn't relevant here imo.its not a word I would use but we're not in Aibu you know.

Op, I hope you find some

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 12/02/2025 01:00

Dior blushes are amazing.

BeaAndBen · 12/02/2025 01:04

Aw damn, I loved that blush.

Lavenderandbrown · 12/02/2025 01:17

nars orgasm was SJP go to blush in SITC. In AJLT she wears merit flush balm. I used nars for years but found it had too much gold in it…I have switched it out with fenty cream blush and too faced powder “head in the clouds” blush.

deeahgwitch · 12/02/2025 06:43

There seems always ro be somebody in a company who says "Yes this product is really popular. Let's change the formula and make it sh*t." 🙄☹️

MyCatsSlave · 12/02/2025 06:46

@PatChaunceysFruitCake I think I’ve got one or two minis that I’ve not used. I’ll have a look when I get home and you can have them if you want

Kaftankween · 12/02/2025 07:03

The Charlotte Tilbury blushes are really nice and the ecstasy shade recommended is a great neutral peach. If you like glow, nothing beats the RMS blushes.
Do you fancy a foray into cream blushes? Now is the time to experiment. They can be so flattering and glowy. The Rhode one is nice as is the new Natasha Denona one that comes with a highlight (available at Cult Beauty).
Now is the time to embrace the change OP. Look at this as an opportunity for experimentation.

Kaftankween · 12/02/2025 07:06

The ordinary Dior blushes are better than the Backstage which can be a bit patchy. I don’t think they’re the best out there are though, especially for the money.

Lighten up.

It's a common expression used when someone is disappointed.

Really? Not in my circles. Heartbroken is used when relationship ended or someone has died, not for blusher!

crankytoes · 12/02/2025 07:11

They've actually changed the formula several times since its release but yes I agree this change has been the most noticeable

The removal of talc has caused lots of complaints across many brands. Givenchy Prism Libre powder is another one that has garnered a lot of complaints.

crankytoes · 12/02/2025 07:15

You mean to tell everyone fear you've never used hyperbolic language? Never said anything like:

I love you to the moon and back
I'm starving
My feet are killing me
I've told you a million times already

Really? You never use hyperbole?

Womenofacertainage · 12/02/2025 07:40

Wondering if this change isn't just their blusher. I opened a new bottle of NARS foundation last week, same one I've been buying for a few years. It was really watery, so thought maybe it needed a good shake. Bit better but definitely not as good as it was.

RabbitsRock · 12/02/2025 07:43

sorechalfonts you mean “ toe curling”

SomethingDifferentBloomed · 12/02/2025 07:49

Another vote for hourglass if you’re looking for a replacement blusher OP! I’m neutral to warm toned but pale and I use the shade luminous flush which is like a peachy pinky colour, love it.

Calypsocuckoo · 12/02/2025 07:59

The dior blushes in rosy and rosewood are lovely and I do use them but they are more subtle. The closest one I have to the orgasm shade is a Sephora own brand one in a pink and black circle case, I can’t remember the name of the colour but it’s a great colour and more similar to orgasm without the gold shine.
