Does this wedding ring look strange?

We went wedding ring shopping today. I thought I wanted a plain band to frame my engagement ring, but then I spotted this ring and was instantly drawn to it. I think because the diamonds are the same shape as my engagement ring. But does the gap between the two look weird? Is it too much sparkle overall for everyday wear? Can’t ask people in real life as I don’t think I’ll get honest opinions as no one will want to offend!

You'll need to upload a photo if you want opinions OP!

Cerialkiller · 09/02/2025 19:24

Images are being very slow to upload due to the awful pictures that appeared over night a few days ago. All images have to be vetted now.

The band is on the wrong side - it should be worn inside (closest to the heart, apparently!)
I’d be worried that when worn correctly it might poke into the top of your finger? I like it though!

PercyFone · 09/02/2025 19:35

The shape of the diamonds is nice, but it looks strange because it doesn't fit into the engagement ring properly. They'll both move around a bit and get out of line.

A jeweller could make you one the same style, but which tessellates into your engagement ring exactly.

mismomary · 09/02/2025 19:36

I for one say it's unusual but all the better for that. Beautiful. Not too much sparkle!

Darkmorningsarethepits · 09/02/2025 19:37

Which is which?

Personally I think that is all far too fussy and a plain band would look more understated and classy

Arlanymor · 09/02/2025 19:37

I think it’s gorgeous - like a sunrise! Don’t let anyone tell you there is a right order for rings to go on your hands, that’s literal nonsense. I think you are on to a winner, what a stunning choice and unusual in the best way.

Doggymummar · 09/02/2025 19:39

Wedding ring should be under neath pop another picture up, I reckon it could look nice

ProfessorLeveretGrey · 09/02/2025 19:40

I really like it. But I have a weakness for diamonds and lots of them. Smile

Wear what you love, I say.

Cinnamonbonbon · 09/02/2025 19:41

Oh thanks, here is a plain band as an example for contrast. I think it’d need to be a wishbone shape to sit flush against the engagement ring though.

Big no from me. Far too fussy and they don't seem to go together

dandeliondaisy · 09/02/2025 19:41

Totally stunning!

MayaPinion · 09/02/2025 19:42

If you are going to do that, do it properly so they fit together snugly. They are called ring enhancers and done well they can look fantastic. I’d probably save it for the eternity ring.

No boo! The other one is a million times lovelier!

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 09/02/2025 19:43

you can never have too much sparkle,

however right now the two rings don't look quite right together - sorry.

Movinghouseatlast · 09/02/2025 19:44

It's gorgeous, very unusual. I'd love one like that.

Advent0range · 09/02/2025 19:44

Oh I think it's fabulous!

Tessellates! What a great word. I learned something new today.

SofaSpuds · 09/02/2025 19:44

I like it 🤩
It's nice to see something unusual, not same old plain gold.

JC03745 · 09/02/2025 19:44

Sorry but yes, the weird gap does look odd! They should fit snuggly together. I'd also be worried about the pointy ends getting snagged when washing hair, on clothes, tights etc, along with pricking into your fingers.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 09/02/2025 19:45

oh I now see what another poster means about wearing them in the ' right ' order.
yes it's wedding ring first then engagement.

BrendaSmall · 09/02/2025 19:45

Doesn’t look like they should go together, not even with the plain band , they both look out of place

ChocolateTea · 09/02/2025 19:46

Ask a jeweller to make you something similar but that sits right with your engagement ring. I did this and it wasn’t that much more than an off the shelf one tbh, and I love mine.

Ohshitiveturnedintomymother · 09/02/2025 19:49

I love it! I have an oddly shaped engagement ring and had a wedding band made to go with it. I deliberately didn’t get it made flush as I really don’t like the interlocking look. Go for what you love and will want to wear every day for the rest of your life

JustLikeThatBluebird · 09/02/2025 19:51

I really like it. It's much nicer than the plain band.
