What is your dream bag?

I've had an unexpected bonus at work and would like to spend it on a designer bag. I've never treated myself to anything like this and it will be a once-in-my-lifetime purchase.

I've a couple of ideas but would love some inspiration. Mulberry Lily is top of my list currently.

What is your dream bag that you would use for years to come?

I have a few Mulberrys. Some are better than others.

My advice would be not to get a smooth leather - choose a grainy one. The smooth ones are easily scratched. I also find the paler colours are easily marked and the marks can be hard to remove so now I restrict myself to darker colours.

I bought a Bayswater and absolutely hated it. It was too bulky, too heavy and very fiddly to open and close. I live in London and am security conscious and like to keep my bags securely fastened all the time. With the Bayswater that was a two handed job for me and an absolute PITA. However I passed it on to my adult daughter and she absolutely loves it.

Finally, in the more recent and current bags, the gold hardware loses its plating after a while and the silver underneath shows through. If that will matter to you, pick a bag with silver hardware.
