Yes, but only on Vinted or in the sale...just can't bring myself to pay full price for the quality.

I feel they've lost their way, and it all feels a bit samey but I got some great cargos in the JL sale recently. I liked them so much I bought another 3 pairs (!) but otherwise haven't been that impressed by their recent collection.

marshmallowmix · 25/01/2025 11:16

Agree I wouldn’t pay full price ever ! Sale or sample sale is the way to go 🙂

I used to really like Hush and have quite a bit from them, I find the trousers fit me really well.
BUT I don't think I bought anything at all last year as I don't think the quality is worth the money

LoveLabradors · 25/01/2025 11:28

From 2012 to about 2020 I loved Hush. I even went to some of the Hush events which I really enjoyed. I still wear some of my decade old hush things. I would say over the last five years it has become very samey and bland, the quality has declined and the prices have shot up. I think they overstretched themselves with huge collections, when they had small releases and collections it was far more appealing. I’ve had the odd sale bargain in recent years and got a fab jumpsuit in the sale last year. But I rarely purchase now. Even the pjs which I loved as they did longer length have declined and risen in price plus very dull designs.
The other issue is the ridiculous vanity sizing which got worse rather than better. I’m a standard tall 8-10 and have been buying size 6 and even 4 in hush which is ludicrous.

JustLikeThatBluebird · 25/01/2025 11:58

I still really like them but the quality can be very hit and miss. I got a gorgeous chunky cardigan a while back and it bobbled horribly after just a few wears, before I even washed it. Looks like I've had it for years not a couple of months and it cost over £100 :(

They've also started charging for returns, which really frustrates me as their sizing is all over the place. I emailed them to say I was disappointed with the change, also the fact that there was no notice that they would start charging (so I had to pay to return an order as I hadn't realised they'd started charging), and received a completely disinterested 'sorry you feel that way' response. I haven't placed an order with them since.

I'm trying to take it as motivation to buy fewer clothes.

LoveLabradors · 25/01/2025 12:16

Oh thanks for the heads up re returns. That’s put me off having a look at the end of their sale! I’ve noticed H and M will start charging £3.95 for returns at the beginning of Feb too.

SnidelyWhiplash · 25/01/2025 12:21

I was v tempted to go to the sample sale, but I couldn’t make it.

I don’t buy nearly as much from Hush as I used to. The only thing I think I bought last year is the Grace dress in navy. It’s gorgeous and I might buy the other colour for a holiday in March.

GrandHighPoohbah · 25/01/2025 12:25

I generally like their style and have quite a few things from Hush. I have learnt my lesson with their knitwear as I don't think it lasts but I buy the tops, dresses and jewellery. I also like their pj's but struggle to justify the price when you can get almost exactly the same for less at M&S.

coralsky · 25/01/2025 12:27

No I've had a jumpsuit and joggers from there all awful quality, bobbled and faded instantly. The wash terribly badly

JustLikeThatBluebird · 25/01/2025 12:54

I've also learnt that I have to be extremely careful with washing t-shirts, camis etc from Hush. I wash nothing from there above 20 degrees and more delicate fabrics go in on a handwash cycle. I've had numerous items shrink after washing at 20/30 despite the label saying they can be washed at 30 degrees.

WhoStoleYourHighHorse · 25/01/2025 13:04

I don’t buy from them often enough to really comment but the Hush cord joggers I bought are wonderful. The right kind of trousers for every/any event in my day - which, to be fair, is mostly teaching, dog walking and occasional restaurants….. supremely versatile.
Tried to get a second pair in John Lewis in London and they said they sold out on the first day the new stock arrived.

I agree with this. I do a "Hush wash" at 20 degrees with delicates washing liquid.

marshmallowmix · 25/01/2025 13:41

I like their joggers and sweatshirts but only buy in sale, would not pay the full prices.

Got a pair of boots at the sample sale £40 big saving on those and an Emelia sweatshirt for £10.

If they don't do free returns any more that puts me off if you are buying online I think they should offer free returns.

Re the joggers I have some Theai ones I got int the sale few years ago and they have been worn loads and washed to death and still look good...I live in their joggers.

I don't rate the knitwear though.

lindyloo57 · 25/01/2025 13:59

I didn't have success with hush wide leg joggers, I stupidly brought 2 pairs in the sale but they bagged at knees, like when you took them off the knee shape stuck out, sorry I don't know how else to describe it, I find more and more brands are now changing for returns, at least it will stop me spending so much online.

marshmallowmix · 25/01/2025 14:03

I don't buy their wide leg joggers I have Theai and Finoula ones, wide legs just don't suit me...

I know what you mean about bagged knees not had that issue with the ones I've bought.

EllaPaella · 25/01/2025 14:16

I used to love Hush but haven't bought much from there over the last 3-4 years. The quality isn't great for the price now and it's also got a bit 'samey'. The same old stuff again and again every season.
The last thing I bought was a pair of ballon leg joggers in the sale last year and to be fair they are really great, I wear them loads.

Nitgel · 25/01/2025 14:32

I just recently got some work trousers half price but I would not have paid 85 quid for.theem. so thin.

At the start many years ago it was such a lovely company.

blizymitzy · 25/01/2025 14:52

I adored Hush years ago and felt like it had changed beyond all recognition the last few years and I actually was very sad about it as their clothes just used to work for me so well.
Literally this week I have had three orders and bought Agnes jeans x2 ,joggers and a cardigan ,two pairs of shoes in the sale (we are going on holiday next week and needed bits)and I think they are back to being a good fit for me.
It's quite bizarre but I love what I've ordered again suddenly and they are great quality again!

WhereAreWeNow · 25/01/2025 15:00

That's interesting that others have had shrinkage. My fave Hush shirt dress shrank on a 40 degree wash.
I still like a few things from Hush - got some lovely Pj's recently - but generally I think it's wildly overpriced and the fabrics are flimsy (usually v thin viscose).

nutsandraisinsrock · 25/01/2025 15:04

Another one who used to love it, but I haven't bought from them for a while. I used to love their jumpers - I had those ones with the star on the front and wore them to death in the mid 00s. But yes their sizing is mad, I am a small size 8 usually and sometimes even their smallest clothes were too big.
This has prompted me to take another look at them (not that I need anything, but just in case!)

Offredismysister · 25/01/2025 15:07

I used to love Hush, but as others have said the knitwear is awful & goes shapeless and/or bobbly after washing.

However, after searching loads of other shops with no luck I did cave & buy the wide leg leopard jeans in Dec & I love them.

MooDengsFatRolls · 25/01/2025 15:10

My husband and I have 12 year old jammies from them but whenever I pass their section in John Lewis I'm always laughing at the mugs paying so much for ghastly synthetic garbage. It looks so shabby on the rail, imagine it after a few washes.

Westcott313 · 25/01/2025 15:11

I went to the sample say and came away with nothing as it was mad and the queues were long.

I have ordered today from their sale as lots quite cheap. But just tops and a coat. I didn't realise it costs to return as I ordered two coats to choose from!

marshmallowmix · 25/01/2025 16:03

Yep @Westcott313 the queues were long, they should have had more tills on and more mirrors for trying on...fitting room was a big queue and there were only a couple of mirrors dotted about and loads of people tyring to use them 🙄

You had to be careful as lot of stuff flawed
