Got my hair done for the first time in 5 years. She couldn't get the red to stick so I now have some shitty done highlights.

So disappointed, looks no different to my current hair.

I'm assuming the 1st pic isn't your hair. I'm not sure what she done but your hair is green and extremely dry. Is she going to fix it

Yeah, that's what I asked for. She offered another appt in 4-6 weeks to put another toner on it 😳

What did your hair look like before?

GinForBreakfast · 23/12/2024 16:09

I don't think the first picture is even real hair. It looks photoshopped. I've never seen someone walking around in real life with hair like that.

Aubruny red, haven't dyed it in 5 years so this is basically my natural colour.

So disappointed :(

This is clearly a hairdresser who wasn’t skilled/qualified enough to do what you asked for but didn’t want to tell you. Ask for a refund this is nothing like what you requested, and go elsewhere

ChaosHol1 · 23/12/2024 16:12

I wouldn't go back to her.

4-6 weeks that's mad, can she not fit you in to fix it or someone else at the Salon? Your hair was stunning before.

This is what I was going to say. I wouldn’t trust her with your hair again even if you could get in sooner.

Fireishot · 23/12/2024 16:15

Your natural colour is beautiful!

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 23/12/2024 16:19

If I was a hairdresser I wouldn't touch your natural hair, it's beautiful!! People would pay £££ to get that colour.

I just wanted something a little different & to treat myself for Xmas tbh but wish I hadn't bothered 😕

Your natural hair is beautiful. Much nicer than the picture of the hair you asked the hairdresser for. I would never dye your hair again.

OP you must be so upset. Your hair was absolutely gorgeous before.

Can you get to Boots or Superdrug etc and get a red casting or similar?

I agree this is disgraceful.

nearlylovemyusername · 23/12/2024 16:42

so the 2nd pic is your natural hair??????
why do you want to do any colour at all???? just why?? you have the most beautiful colour, naturally, there are so many ways of treating yourself...
gosh...

JamonMfucker · 23/12/2024 16:46

Yeah the hairdresser clearly didn’t have enough experience and instead of telling you that, they butchered your hair. Your natural colour is stunning and you would have looked amazing if she’d achieved what you’d actually asked for. I would definitely try and get your money back for a start. Find a different hairdresser with good reviews and see if they can fix it. Even if they can’t get exactly what you asked for, they can make it lot a lot better than it is. Failing that, you can try a copper toner as it may help. In the meantime, don’t stress. It’s done now and it is what it is. It’s only temporary and will grow out soon. Just rock it until you can fix it!

Shimmyshimmyshimmy · 23/12/2024 16:49

There’s no such thing as ‘not being able to get colour to stick’ she clearly just isn’t up to the job. Ask for a refund. Go elsewhere. I know it’s disappointing but it’s just hair and you’ll get it sorted!

Blueberry911 · 23/12/2024 16:54

Was she definitely a qualified hairdresser?

MissyB1 · 23/12/2024 16:54

Definitely insist on a refund, and do not ever let her near your hair again!

It is possible but a lot of work and maintenance.

I agree with others OP, i wouldn't go back to them, I'd ask for a refund so you can go elsewhere. Agree also how beautiful your natural hair colour is!

Justleaveitblankthen · 23/12/2024 17:03

Wow! Your real hair colour is insanely beautiful 😍
Hope you get a resolution OP.

IlovePond · 23/12/2024 17:16

@Mawface - if you are happy to say which city you are in, someone may be able to make some recommendations. A good colourist, (not a hairdresser who has had some basic training in colour), could help with improving the current condition of your hair.

Also, people often cancel on Xmas Eve, so maybe you could see someone tomorrow- even just for a consultation and for recommendations for how to improve things at a later appointment.

Breadcat24 · 23/12/2024 17:25

The photos of your hair in the first post look dry and split- have they done this with bleaching?
Be careful what you do next
