Beautiful! I love it 😍

noodlescanoodles · 30/11/2024 17:38

I don't love it

Gold is dated and the circular stone settings look cheap

However, if you love it - I'm thrilled for you and I hope you enjoy wearing it

Unnecessarily harsh.

gingercat02 · 30/11/2024 17:41

It's gorgeous. Joy to wear OP, if you don't want it I can DM my address 😉
LOL at gold being dated, I'm sure the financial world would disagree.

Moier · 30/11/2024 17:43

Stunning.
Is it topaz/ diamonds?
Either way. I like it..

Gold is dated 😂😂😂

Where have you been hiding???

DazedAndConfused321 · 30/11/2024 18:01

It's nice, I don't love blue stones- especially that pale blue. If it's costume jewellery it looks nice, if it's genuine stones, it looks cheap.

Dumbles · 30/11/2024 18:04

Thanks all! & don’t worry wasn’t offended at all @noodlescanoodles I wanted to hear all the views! It is an old family ring (over 100 years old) and I have always loved it as It’s very my colour.

l might have it modernised a bit and was wondering whether it’s engagementy enough? I’m really glad most you guys love it too though.

I think it an aquamarine and diamonds @Moier - real stones @DazedAndConfused321 but probably very old fashioned style!

It’s very pretty and if I saw you wearing it I would definitely have to compliment it! I think it’s fine to wear as a normal ring, maybe just not on your ring finger.

What changes were you thinking of making?

Garlicpest · 30/11/2024 18:11

I love it, too. I prefer older cut stones and their inner glow, as contrasted with the twinkle of newer cuts with many facets. But if you like your bling flashy, you can get them re-cut!

smooththecat · 30/11/2024 18:12

I thought vintage, it’s lovely

LoafofSellotape · 30/11/2024 18:14

It looks vintage and absolutely beautiful.

ApolloandDaphne · 30/11/2024 18:16

It's absolutly gorgeous.

XmasNameChangeFail · 30/11/2024 18:18

It’s absolutely beautiful.

And gold is back in fashion. Platinum is out Wink.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 30/11/2024 18:19

Lovely!!!!

BIWI · 30/11/2024 18:20

It's beautiful. I love the colour of the aquamarine as well.

Jellycats4life · 30/11/2024 18:22

All it needs is a good clean and it’s going to sparkle beautifully

paristotokyo · 30/11/2024 18:24

Very pretty. Enjoy your ring Smile

excelledyourself · 30/11/2024 18:29

Personally, I prefer platinum/white gold, so would change the band. Apart from that, it's a really beautiful ring and definitely engagement ring worthy.

Why would you want to modernise an old family ring for your (?) engagement ring, particularly if you've always loved it. Why can you not just wear it as is, aside from getting it resized?

My engagement ring is my great grandma's engagement ring from 1909. I got engaged in 2015. It's gold with 3 small diamonds in a design which is (apparently) unique to the era, and I like it. You say you want to "modernise" it to make it "engagement-y" enough - what does that even mean anyway?

I know 😂

Corinthiana · 30/11/2024 18:33

I think it's beautiful. Is the main stone topaz?
It's lovely.
