* Please avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance. * (Edited at request of the OP by MNHQ)

It is one sleep away! We’ve all been very patient, since Liberty London revealed their advent calendar in June this year.

Reveals from 7am GMT each morning please. This is to harmonise discussion/shift work/different time zones.

Love todays!!! Not something I would’ve bought myself but definitely something I’d buy again THIS is why I love an advent calendar (not all the acid treatments!)

GinandGingerBeer · 16/12/2024 10:37

Really happy with this as I've been hovering on ordering it for a while!
I've just tried a bit on the side of my hand and once it's dry, it's not going anywhere so that's good!
I might try one of the more neutral tones now.

BakeOffRewatch · 16/12/2024 10:40

Here’s the tutorial from 2 years ago with the newer shades including the Emily we received today

I just watched this Tik Tok and it’s a very opaque colour but I guess that’s because it hasn’t been spread out as recommended in the how to apply. Quite versatile. www.tiktok.com/@lisaeldridgemakeup/video/7144462695931137285

I would not have bought today’s and was a bit disappointed when I saw it…. However, I whacked it on this morning (make up artist technical term 😉) and I actually do like it. That’s why I like an advent calendar, I get try things I’d normally think were not for me.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 16/12/2024 13:48

Loving this morning's, and actually watched the tutorial before slapping some on.

I likecit and I'm hopingvthere is more makeup as I have enough face cream/exfoliate to last a good while.

Would love a nice brow pencil.

lostonadustyrock · 16/12/2024 14:09

LOVE this morning’s, as in, this is the colour I always gravitate to. Applied for some festive glitter and 8h later it’s still ‘sort of’ there giving a little sheen.

I worried it would just settle in all the cracks and wrinkles on my eyelids but actually it hasn’t done badly at all.

I think I’d definitely consider rebuying or looking at other shades. It’s a more subtle Boots 17 Eye Dazzle from the late 90s 😂

Un4732 · 16/12/2024 15:56

Love today! Well turns out I opened it yesterday by mistake. Been wearing it - very subtly yesterday at work and today a bit more full on. Really buildable and the most beautiful colour for me. All day wear yesterday didn't budge a bit. Very please for the introduction to the LE brand.

Less impressive was the Byredo (which was one product I was most keen to try) - great to try and love the Red & Blue colour but the formula isn't the best. I've Kiko lipsticks with far better application and staying power at quarter of the price. Like the packaging but feels wasteful as I'll not pay for the refill.

100% be repurchasing Good Genes. That too has been a cracker.

Wherethewildthingsfart · 16/12/2024 18:57

Love love love today’s! Gorgeous shade! I slapped a thick layer on but will go back and watch the tutorial! (I usually go for the 5 year got loose in mummy’s make up bag style).

The lipstick has real staying power. It’s survived multiple hot and cold drinks, plenty of snogs (tested on Dh rather than randoms) and it’s still there!

nearly61 · 16/12/2024 19:09

This is brilliant- so pleased I tried it. Subtle sheen, easy to apply and does give a rich soft shade to my eyelids without highlighting wrinkles and lines … and there are plenty there!! A real win as I would never have bought or even tried this in store but will definitely repurchase

imp2007 · 16/12/2024 19:22

@lostonadustyrock eye dazzle!!! That's a blast from the past!!!!

lostonadustyrock · 17/12/2024 07:55

A bit ‘meh’ about this product though haven’t tried it yet. But two eye creams? Does it do something vastly different? It’s going in the stash as I’m really enjoying the REN cream.

On a separate note I’m enjoying the shower oil we got fairly early on. Slapping it on pre shower then basking in the lovely scent.

allmybooksarefromthelibrary · 17/12/2024 08:01

@lostonadustyrock yeah - same. Two eye creams is one too many as I take ages to get through them at the best of times!

Peridot1 · 17/12/2024 08:07

I’m always happy with an eye cream. I use twice a day every day and have done since my mid twenties and I’m 60 now. Although with beauty boxes and kits and advent calendars I can’t remember the last time I actually went out and bought one! So the MZ one will go in the stash for a bit.

Un4732 · 17/12/2024 08:09

£110 for eye cream is madness but happy to try it this way! I expect to wake up to a new face for the price 😅

nearly61 · 17/12/2024 08:24

£110?!!! No way -is there gold dust in there? I had better look amazing tomorrow morning - and you will all know as I'll be changing my user name to nearly31 😂

😂😂😂
I also expect to look 40 years younger after all these products!

nearly61 · 17/12/2024 09:16

@Pollydollydoodle it's all a bit mad really but I'm an absolute sucker for the big price tags and huge claims -my favourite time of year where I can suspend my disbelief and indulge happily in the dream! Thank goodness I usually find I don't want (and certainly couldn't in most cases) to rp. Having said that, I have actually found a handful of really wonderful things through these advents. I loved the Dr Sebagh lip balm from years ago and rp'd many times plus the normal Dr S serum. And this year the Dr S serum is a massive winner -am hoping it lasts ages though as v v spendy!!

Peridot1 · 17/12/2024 11:26

And I’ve just realised I already have the same unopened MZ eye cream in my stash from I think the most recent Caroline Hirons kit…… oops.

AnnieFrancais · 17/12/2024 13:06

I so hoped for eye cream and now there are two! So happy especially since people are mentioning the price, I thought this must be a small size but its the actual £110 size 😍

BakeOffRewatch · 17/12/2024 16:05

Day 17!

MZ Skin Soothe & Smooth Hyaluronic Eye Complex 14ml FULL SIZE
Value £110

Full calendar contents, spoilers!! https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/liberty-beauty-advent-calendar-2024-000821246.html

I’ve tried a bit on my hand and I really like it. It looks like well-whipped cream. It’s a very different eye cream to the REN which is thick and claggy. I find the REN drags on my skin and finger as I try to pat it in and no matter how careful I am it doesn’t completely absorb and always get a bit on contact lenses which I then have to throw away. I tried a bit of the MZ on the back of my hand it’s lovely and has a nice smell that isn’t over powering. I am a big user of hyaluronic acid so very grateful for this. I hated the Dr Sebagh Rose De Vie serum so I am glad I like this as I was worried about realising the value of the AC! I really love Sunday Riley AutoCorrect (£60 for 15ml) so will see how this fares in comparison to that.

I’m still using the eye cream from the drop so won’t start either of these yet.

emmab16 · 17/12/2024 21:35

I love the MZ eye cream……although I did expect to look 30 when I got up this morning 🌅 I haven’t worn eye cream for ages and it’s quite thick but felt lovely on

Un4732 · 18/12/2024 08:29

Meh for today. Never get excited by hair products. @BakeOffRewatch why were you not a fan of the rose serum?

BakeOffRewatch · 18/12/2024 08:32

Day 18!

Hair by Sam McKnight Deeper Love Intense Treatment Mask 50ml FULL SIZE
Value £22/£12 (£48 for 200ml)

Another one where Liberty only sell the 200ml online. Space NK stock the 50ml for £22. There’s some discussion on the Waifs and Strays thread about what “counts” as full size. www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5220847-general-waifs-and-strays-beauty-advent-calendar-opening-thread-2024?reply=140620827 This is quite small, maybe 2 or 3 hair washes for mid length hair, enough to find out if you like the product or a treat through December.

This says it fixes 50% of split ends after one use, and makes hair 10x stronger. I’ve never used this brand before. Has anyone else tried it?

I really don’t like the Dr Sebagh Rose De Vie serum and it was one of the big value products in the AC, so I felt wasteful. There’s 4 things in the calendar I really wanted and would have purchased anyway, which add up to £206 so telling myself that for £34 extra I’ve received lots more that I’ll use up.

The Lisa Eldridge Lurex liquid eye shadow is amazing. I’ve been painting it on and it is sparkly without looking like stage show makeup. Doesn’t move or crease all day. I even rubbed my eye once and it didn’t come off even though the eyeliner did. I really like the Surratt blush too, it looks like a liquid product when on, not powdery at all. But the slide off lid is so annoying! You have to be careful to get it back on.

How is everyone else feeling about the value of the AC? One week day until Christmas now.

I just really don’t like the smell. I don’t like the high value Sisley rose products we’ve received in the Liberty Beauty Drop either. I also think the Dr Sebagh Serum is well packaged rosehip oil and didn’t see any other ingredients that I would rave over - personal choice about what people value in beauty and skincare though. If I needed high quality rosehip oil for sensitive skin I’d used the Pai £29 one https://www.paiskincare.com/products/rosehip-bioregenerate-oil The Pai brand is fantastic for effective gentle skincare. The push down on the lid pippette system, rather than squeeze sides, is so fiddly too, especially as the sides are so slippery. I’m not too into the perfumes and candles either, though following threads here has helped me appreciate them.

Rosehip Bioregenerate
